Winter Olympics - Opening Ceremony this evening

Opening ceremony tonight, from 6.30pm on BBC2. Surprised it’s not on BBC1.

This opening ceremony is odd. And boring

Very boring

Why have we got huge- headed composers?
I want skiing and snow and derring- do.

It's high brow, and boring

Giant heads and tubes of toothpaste.

I don't want high brow. I want low brow and sparkles and boats.

I love it so far. I must be higher brow than you!

"HEY, mama, I've got a starring role in the opening ceremony"

"Marvellous, doing what?"

"I'm wandering about in a huge papier mache composer head".

And I like opera.

It’s quite early for the ‘what the bloody hell is going on’ part of the ceremony.

I'm hoping it's taken its inspiration from the London one. We were all nervous about how that was going to go but then built up and built up

I wonder if non-UK watchers enjoyed the London one as much as us?

We’ve been watching the team figure skating today , opening and closing ceremonies are not really my thing . Discovery + has a far superior olympics coverage than the BBC

i am kind of liking it though.

It is reminding me of London 2012.

I like it so far. I like the big heads and the music. I think it's clever.

And it's only just started - I'm sure it can be declared boring on the basis od the first 10 minutes
