Opening ceremony tonight, from 6.30pm on BBC2. Surprised it’s not on BBC1.

Good to see Canada's mums got the coats extra-big so they can grow into them.

I'm so ancient I sat up to see Torvill & Dean win their gold. Everyone else had gone to bed but I was v v excited (I was a mere child at the time)

It has changed certainly. They allow things now that were not allowed then. But it was definitely great at the time.

New events this year:

Mixed team snowball fight
Timed snowman building
How far can you slide on a feed sack?

And one of those is on crutches.

Only just started watching, absolutely loving the outfits. Really really want one of those Canada coats.

Honestly not interested in the Winter Olympic team stats we are getting in the commentary, just want to know more about the clothes.

T&D had so many iconic routines. The Soviets they were usually up against were nowhere near as good. Sadly because we don't have much medal interest in figure skating it's difficult to see much of it on TV.

Yes it was great at the time. I'm not denying that.

There needs to be an event where one person sits on a sledge and another person pulls it round a track. I think it would be popular.

Was very different, being pairs (lots of throws and not as much style, as far as I was concerned, But the commentators loved it).

I remember Robin cousins and another man who were good at the figure skating.

I take it back, they clearly let Temu do the designs for China.

I remember watching Robin with my mum, when he performed in Moscow. Men's ice skating is very different now. All about the quad jumps.
