Opening ceremony tonight, from 6.30pm on BBC2. Surprised it’s not on BBC1.

I'm old enough to remember the ice dance final of 1984. Well, I say remember - there was a power cut at the venue and we had to go to bed as it ended up being on very late 🙁

Oh god yeah the Sarajevo games. There was such a buzz about our duo there. The Today programme played Ravel's bolero that morning and the presenters got all excited.

A lot of that stuff is ruins now, inaccessible due to decay and a multitude of landmines.

In the pairs skating today, one of the couples used 'Bolero' . I was really miffed. It is so attached to T and D, that it feels like no-one should ever use it again

I bet they weren't as good! That performance was incredible. It was almost surreal, seeing these two kids who worked on the high street in Nottingham getting gold medals, flanked by angry Russians in second and third place.
