Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon. Smile

It all went downhill for Ches after Schmeichel died

The quads were one of those tedious "wouldn't it be hilarious" ideas that scriptwriters have and then are left with the consequences for years

Edited

LOL, I wonder?!!!

Also, what totally threw a spanner in the works, was the fact the 'quads' were born in October 2019, just 3 months before the Covid pandemic kicked in, so they couldn't sort of go forward with the storyline much, as hardly anyone was allowed out, least of all small, fragile, vulnerable little babies!

It was a stupid storyline anyway! And calling them all Welsh names purely because they were born in Llandudno (where Gemma and Chesney were on holiday at the time) is just daft. As daft as Shona and David calling their new baby Harper, after the surname of the doctor who delivered her/operated on her.

The last thing on my mind when my DC were born (I have 2) was to find out the name of the person who delivered them, and name them after them! And if they'd been born in Shrewsbury, I wouldn't have named them Charles (after Charles Darwin) or Ozzy, if they'd been born in Birmingham, (after Ozzy Osborne,) or Beatrice if they'd been born in The Lake District (after Beatrice Potter,) or Cilla if they'd been born in Liverpool! (After Cilla Black!)

Batshit!😆

Surely Todd would have Samsung/Apple/Google pay on his phone? I lost* my purse, and therefore bank card, before Christmas. Not an issue. I just use my phone.

*Its not really lost, just under the sofa and I can't reach it and too lazy to pull it out. Blush

Well yeah, he could just ring his bank and ask for a new bank card. Problem is, Theo could end up getting hold of it.

Why was Abi even at that intervention?

How does it help to have her there

and why would Jack want to live with her ?

Yeah I was wondering what was going on with the sudden turnaround with Jack wanting to be with Abi.

I am getting bored though, of constantly snappy, arsey, angry shouty Kevin. 🙄

or he could ask one of his many friends for some money

at least go for a drink with George who offered to pay

But then he'd have to admit what Theo's done, and he's not ready to do that yet.

Shellingbynight · 02/02/2026 21:46

The Todd-Theo storyline seemed to be reaching a natural conclusion, with Billy's intervention and then Todd's reactions over the next few weeks. But here we are again with him deferring to Theo and not saying boo to a goose. It feels too contrived.

It is dawning on me that Lauren's new personality really is meant to funny.

I think they are turning he into a grumpy version of Nina who always has a smart word for customers.

Mollypolly2610 · 02/02/2026 22:08

I think Todd could ask for his new card to be delivered to the bank branch and take ID to claim it.

But if Todd does that & starts spending on it, Theo will know because he's tracking their spending.

Really think Lauren should go on a customer service course! She is rude and unpleasant to most customers in the Rovers. Ollie seems to like her though. Surprised she didn't know what cognac was.
Whatever happened to baby Frankie?

Lauren is the new Betty. She was miserable and rude to everyone too.

sorryIdidntmeanto · 02/02/2026 23:01

Well Todd could.do any of those things, but the point is he won't. He could ask George to pay him in cash. He could tell George what is going on. Maybe he can't quite face it while dealing with his grief over Billy. I can't believe he hasn't moved in with Summer. He should just do that.

The thing that annoys me most about the quads having Welsh names is that they pronounce Llio wrong. It's not the same as Cleo! There are so many Welsh girls names which would have been simple to pronounce.

I'm not keen on Debbie's living room mainly because it's far too small for all that lovely furniture but hadn't noticed the green tiger striped armchair before. Tonight seeing her in her green outfit sitting in the chair was WOW! Fabulous and only Debbie could get away with it! Bet Lynch was as common as muck with her style but Debbie carries it off perfectly. 🐯

You would expect someone who owns a bloody hotel to live somewhere a bit more luxurious.

They could at least have put her in the fancy block of flats where Sarah lives

teambrief · 03/02/2026 06:45

I hope the Theo story is dealt with properly. Over in a Emmerdale we have had 3 people responsible for kidnapping, people trafficking and abuse yet all have now turned up murdered. I know these are soaps but they are based on what does happen in real life. The writers need to properly show a conclusion to the story with Theo and Todd.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 03/02/2026 07:21

I’m with Theo re:Todd’s spending. He spent 7k in a few months rather than explain to Theo he was strapped for cash. He then had a tenner and instead of saying to George he was going home for lunch he was in the cafe acting all “starved”. Ridiculous. A tenner a day is plenty, he could have had a great lunch and dinner with that. At home.

I’m glad it’s not just me who thought that. A tenner a day is £300 a month fun money, which is good going while paying off debt. If he didn’t go to the cafe for lunch and coffees every day and the Rovers every night he’d be fine!

Shellingbynight · 03/02/2026 08:17

Theo should not have opened Todd's mail. If he hadn't, he wouldn't even know about the spending. They have separate accounts, it's none of his business.

The only reason Theo made it his business is so he can control Todd by controlling his access to money.

Todd racked up debt because Theo caused him to lose his job, but Todd is now working again so can pay off the debt, he doesn't need to be given pocket money of £10 a day by his keeper. And it isn't £10 a day anyway because Theo didn't come back, so it's going to be at least two days. Knowing Theo he ensured all that is left in the fridge is a pint of milk and a mouldy tomato.

I can't see how anyone agrees with Theo on this.

the80sweregreat · 03/02/2026 08:47

I don’t agree with Theo either. Nasty piece of work.
Rather than discuss a repayment plan , his just left without any money at all. A tenner for food isn’t enough. He needs to get a new debit card asap.

Oh, I wasn’t agreeing with Theo. I just meant that he wasn’t in grave danger on yesterday’s episode from only having a tenner to last the day.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 03/02/2026 09:09

@Nevermind17 I don’t agree with Theo and obviously he is an abuser but £10 is plenty for a day or two and which young un doesn’t have Apple pay or similar on their phone nowadays? They have to make the storyline believable for me to be invested. Eating out/going to the pub shouldn’t really be on Todd’s radar if he’s on a budget surely? That’s why he’s 7k in debt in such a short space of time surely?

Shellingbynight · 03/02/2026 09:16

You can bet that Todd is not allowed Applepay. There would be no point cutting up his cards and letting him spend via his phone.

@Nevermind17 I agree that they really laid it on thick with George forgetting his wallet, Todd left with a few coins.... sob! They always do this on soaps, on EastEnders they had Denise eating food out of a bin when she had multiple people she could have asked for food/money.

I think the main point is that Theo is destabilising Todd by cutting him off from his friends again, because Todd cannot speak the guilty secret of the debt and the pocket money.

Freysimo · 03/02/2026 09:26

What happened to car Theo bought for Todd? Was it sold?

Housewife2010 · 03/02/2026 09:44

I'm fed up with all the nasty, conniving characters at the moment - Theo, Carl & Jodie. In the past they'd have the odd serial killer, but now there are far too many nasty story lines. I want poor Todd & Debbie to be free.
