Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon. Smile

What happened to car Theo bought for Todd? Was it sold?

I wondered if we were supposed to think Todd had run up debt by putting the car repayments on a credit card. But normally they spell stuff like that out.

JewelleryCat · 03/02/2026 09:59

Finally found you! Also there’s no Corrie tonight because of football

AmusedMaker · 03/02/2026 10:02

I couldn’t be less interested in the ‘Shona’s Dad’ storyline if I tried. Also can’t believe how bright & breezy she is considering she has a seriously ill premature baby in hospital.
Love Debbie, but her flat is too dark & depressing for me.

So Theo deliberately left Todd alone with hardly any money. What’s the betting he’ll stay away for the week. I’m hoping Todd has spent 7K on private counselling and that it eventually works! He needs to leave. But apparently, the most dangerous time for people in abusive relationships is when they try to leave. The abuser is losing control so gets even more angry.

the80sweregreat · 03/02/2026 10:08

How long was Todd out of work for? Did he not claim
any benefits?

Shellingbynight · 03/02/2026 10:31

I think he was only out of work for about 6 weeks wasn't he? I suppose he could have already had some debt on the card already and added to it. The only thing we saw him buying was the security cameras!

Shona looks so fresh and cheerful, you'd think they would make some effort with the baby storyline.

eggandonion · 03/02/2026 11:29

I don't think there's a benefit system in weatherfield. Hence Audrey and Rita go on working and Gemma is skint.

Nevermind17 · 03/02/2026 11:32

Surely if Theo leaves Todd with no money long-term there will come a point where George starts to notice and maybe then Todd will tell him.

He has been like that for decades!

Oh I agree. He just seems to be extra annoying and shouty just lately. 😆

Even more fascinating

The mystery of Shona's dad's mate!

It just all looks like it is pointing to a hackneyed ploy of Jodie wreaking some revenge on Shona for whatever

It is a shame as the actress who plays Shona is good and passes for her sister, they could have done something less cliched

Oh yeah, that's was seen about 3 times, and never seen or spoken about again. Do they think everyone is going to forget?! 😆

The only time I've seen them in a car (presumably Todd's new car?) Theo was driving, it was the time he abandoned Todd at the cake shop in the rain and made him walk back.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 03/02/2026 12:01

I thought Todd had got his job back at the funeral directors with George?

Shellingbynight · 03/02/2026 12:05

Yes, he has.

zanahoria · 03/02/2026 12:53

It was hard to blame him last night.

The intervention was held in public and felt more like an inquisition. His cheating ex-wife was leading it and her shag bunny/his brother milling around in the background as that is his workplace.

I can see why he did not want to talk about his feelings

teambrief · 03/02/2026 06:45

I hope the Theo story is dealt with properly. Over in a Emmerdale we have had 3 people responsible for kidnapping, people trafficking and abuse yet all have now turned up murdered. I know these are soaps but they are based on what does happen in real life. The writers need to properly show a conclusion to the story with Theo and Todd.

I've said on a previous thread that I hope there is at least a nod to the fact that more often than not there is no closure for the victim of an abuser. I know they'll probably want some great, dramatic "Ha, that taught him!" moment, which is satisfying for the viewer, but life is rarely like that.

Todd needs to be seen to be affected by what's been done to him for a long time to come, once TC Theo is written out. You don't come back from hell unscathed.

But it's a soap and there's the risk of boring the viewers with that type of thing. No, they'd be much better sticking to the tropes of the intellectually challenged guy who works in the factory and doesn't know the history of cardboard boxes 🙄, the always open mouthy always skint mother of quads, the hilarity of a barmaid making punters wait while she paints her nails, the great fun that is banter between Mary and Brian, etc, etc, etc 🥱

AmusedMaker · 03/02/2026 13:12

Yes, I feel sorry for Kevin.
His entire world has been blown apart, and the person who did it sits there looking all concerned for him. I totally get his frustration. And setting him up like that was cruel imo. I also think taking Jack away from him is a bit extreme. Was the house that bad?
all it needed was a 5 minute tidy up.
I’m not sure how old Jack is supposed to be 14 / 15? but If it was me I’d stay and look after my dad

Livingthebestlife · 03/02/2026 13:33

I'm not liking the Shona & sister story line. They haven't even touched on why she was tied up in the van. The Theo story really needs to be wrapped up, it's way too long now and I think they've covered all avenues of the abuse involved. Why are they having Lauren been the way she is lately ? Rude is an understatement.

Shellingbynight · 03/02/2026 13:58

@AmusedMaker The house looked a state, and the implication was that Kev is drinking a lot, there were empty beer cans amongst the takeaway rubbish and he'd left the TV on, presumably overnight. If he's drinking it isn't surprising Jack doesn't want to be around him.

bizzey · 03/02/2026 14:39

Jack also said there was no food in the fridge .
And I presume cupboards ?

luckylavender · 03/02/2026 15:39

CarlaasFactreh · 02/02/2026 20:50

George has just ordered a bacon and sausage Barm Grin
£6.50 😳

The two coffees were in that order too

zanahoria · 03/02/2026 16:37

The Jack and Kev stuff is stupid.

Jack detested Abi for splitting up the family, I can see how he is narked at his dad but plenty of other adults around that he can go to for help. Apparently they are worried but it would have made far more sense if just Sal had talked to Kev and checked in on Jack.

eggandonion · 03/02/2026 21:43

Alfie seems to have checked in to 24 hour care centre with Frankeh and Glory. I assume Lauren has benefits organised because her shifts at the Rovers wouldn't be enough for tracksuits and nail polish. She could advise Gemma.

Empress13 · 04/02/2026 06:55

I find it weird not one of the family has mentioned how DD is getting on in that there Singapore like she never existed…… then again neither was Aggie !

Hopefully he drinks himself to death ! Sick and tired of seeing his miserable face and constant whining get over it !

zanahoria · 04/02/2026 09:16

Although, I would rather live at Kev's than Abi's grotty flat. At least it would be OK after a bit of tidying.
