Is it nearly February (2026) already?! CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon. Smile

You might have a point there. She seemed very quick to accept the money, and she has been involved in the business. If it was a couple of months ago, Todd wasn't there and she was.

AmusedMaker · 13/02/2026 08:17

Yeah the kid is actually not a bad actor ( had absolutely no idea who he was though until Gary turned up 😂 )
I dunno. Gary is supposed to be the ‘hard man’ so telling tales behind someone’s back doesn’t fit really, especially as he’d told Todd to his face to back off.
Theo is very convincing as the psycho boyfriend, I actually get nervous when he appears on screen.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 13/02/2026 08:38

What does Megan Trainer teach? She keeps saying to Daniel she was talking to whoever about their coursework but when I was at school all the gym teachers did was shout at us, there was no paperwork or anything. Have times changed or does she teach something other than running?

zanahoria · 13/02/2026 08:49

SabreIsMyFave · 12/02/2026 22:06

Yes @Shellingbynight Megan's Korean Glass face looks daft. Looks like she's sweating all the time. In mid February, with a windchill of 2-3 degrees C, and nowt but rain all year so far! 😆

And yes, Christina did seem like she wanted George to accept the money off the deceased lady, but whilst 10 grand is a nice little pile of money, it's not lifechanging, and if I was George I would refuse it. The implications could be devastating to him and his business. Is it worth it for 10 grand?

That would make professional sense, they stand to lose far more if they got a bad reputation

Shellingbynight · 13/02/2026 08:56

@AmusedMaker I didn't know who he was till Gary showed up either! I thought Liam had had a head and personality change!

I don't know what the heck Megan does. I thought she was a sports coach so it would make sense if she was a gym teacher. Was she just giving Will a free lecture about coursework for his other subjects?

They are really saving money on the school set, all we see is the corridor with the lockers!

zanahoria · 13/02/2026 08:59

We only see Will and Meghan together when she is telling him off, he seems to have been shoved out of his own grooming plot. It is all about Meghan versus Sam now. Both seem to be making errors, she would be better off ignoring him rather than nicking his homework. He should never have told her he knew. He should have just told Hope who could easily take Meghan down or told Toyah so she could put on her concerned face and dispense her counsellor wisdom.

They would need extras for classrooms!

eggandonion · 13/02/2026 09:28

Is pe an exam subject now? Hope should really get involved and sort out Megan. She could also accept the challenge of dealing with Theo.
Does Gary ever mention the child he had with Phelans daughter?

ShyMaryEllen · 13/02/2026 09:32

What was the deal with the customer accusing George, please?

I tend to drift off a bit these days, so missed that.

We don’t really know. It came out of the blue

AmusedMaker · 13/02/2026 06:56

Can’t believe Gary would tell Theo about the argument Todd had with his son, absolutely ridiculous.

I found this odd as well. This is the sort of thing that would have happened when you were a child. If someone had got into an argument with another child and got a bit aggressive, their mum would ring the other child's mum up and have a moan, or have a go. It came across as if Theo was Todd's dad. Utterly ludicrous! 😆

The lady ranting (at George) had George do her (deceased) husband's funeral. All was OK, until she found out her husband has left George £10,000 (which I think she said is all his life savings.')

She has accused George of getting her (deceased) husband to change his will to leave everything to him. She is threatening to take legal action against him, as it's unethical for the funeral director to receive an inheritance like this.

I am sure she has a case, as it would be regarded as unethical for a funeral director to receive an inheritance, and also, this lady is his wife, so she surely has to be more entitled to the money than George.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 13/02/2026 10:00

Was it not the wifey's mum @SabreIsMyFave , because she had warmed so much to George when he did her husband's (the mum's husband's) funeral? I may be wrong, I only had half an eye on it, as usual.

I did wonder if Megan was pretending to nag about coursework for other subjects but surely Daniel would stop thinking about Keats and cardigans for three seconds to think that a bit odd.

Whattodo1610 · 13/02/2026 10:01

Jake has been played by this actor for a lot of years now. His real life sister plays Susie. I think the pair of them are great actors.

Shellingbynight · 13/02/2026 10:02

Yes @LesserSpottedCharacter you're right.
The woman was called Annie. It was Annie's mother who died and left George the money. The mother knew George already, as he had done a lovely funeral for her husband. Annie thinks George was schmoozing her mother for cash, hence the £10k she left him.

I thought Annie was a good actor, at least they made an effort to cast her well!

Daniel never really thinks much at all does he?!

eggandonion · 13/02/2026 10:02

I thought I had missed a back story... I can't imagine leaving a funeral director any money. My will is with the local solicitors and I would have to get them to change it. I think they would discuss it with me carefully. What a strange story
I can imagine people might have left money to Roy Hudd. He was a good undertaker

Shellingbynight · 13/02/2026 10:05

I loved Roy Hudd as Archie.

"5 foot 10. I'm right aren't I!"

suburburban · 13/02/2026 12:29

I’m surprised Jake is even hanging around at what seems like lunchtime, does he not have to stay in school?

I’m hating the Todd and Theo thing with the money

wish Eileen was there to put Theo in his place

Daniel does not think about much beyond which books he is going to bore on about next

He keeps going on about how Will is bothering Meghan but never asks her why she followed him across the country to get a job at his new school.

suburburban · 13/02/2026 12:38

Why is Theo never at work

and yes Theo acts like he is his Dad

I wish Todd would remember what a complete bastard he used to be like when he was trying to split Billy and Paul up.

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2026 12:56

So, Todd used to be horrible and now his like this !
They always change people’s personalities on soaps

Shellingbynight · 13/02/2026 13:24

Todd's changed a couple of times. He started out nice when he arrived as a teen, then he left and returned from That London as a hard faced scheming type, and he became fixated with Billy. But they did redeem him again a while ago, he resolved to be a better person and when Paul was dying he was lovely with Billy and Paul.

I know right. Theo can't be bringing in any money. You generally have to go out to work to be paid a wage! 😆

Agree about Todd's everchanging personalities too. 😆

I do like 'nice' Todd. Grin
