Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon. Smile

Did he have an odd conversation with Toyah a out her name? Maybe he was reporting back to Eva
.. it was before Mrs Doyle etc arrived . It would be easier if they were just called the Doyles.

Shellingbynight · 12/02/2026 13:07

Homeless Sean was ridiculous.

I missed the early days of Ollie so to me he is a run of the mill pleasant guy. But it's Corrie so not a lot of chance of him staying that way.

@Justpolly The profiles on Corrie wiki usually have the character's date of birth.

When DeeDee first started dating Ollie she questioned if she wanted to carry on seeing him because he was really rude/slightly aggressive to someone who served him in the bistro, and it took her back to how Joel was. He was a very odd character when he first came into it I found. He was a bit too pushy with DeeDee and would just appear where she was. Then they seemed to forget that slightly weird side to him, and they then just made a boring, mundane pairing. So I wouldn’t be surprised at all if there is something sinister about Ollie. His family aren’t the most functional, his brother is hooked up with a paedo and their birth mother is never really mentioned. Maybe they both have “mummy issues” 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Yeah, I wonder what happened to clingy, pushy, rather aggressive Ollie too! 😆

Puts me in mind of Roy. He came into Corrie in 1995, (it was on Classic Corrie maybe 4 or 5 years ago,) and he was a very odd creepy middle aged man. Then he morphed quickly into someone dorky and quirky but loveable and kind. I'm not sure where or when the transition happened! 😂

I seem to remember that he had somehow sought DeeDee out when he first started seeing her.

Shellingbynight · 12/02/2026 13:38

That's really interesting about Ollie. I wonder if they intended him to go in a different direction originally.

True about Roy, when he first arrived he was practically stalking Deirdre wasn't he? then became salt of the earth.

eggandonion · 12/02/2026 13:51

Did he buy the cafe from Alma? Or buy Almas share? He was working as a cook there but unexpectedly nipped to the bank to sort payment.

zanahoria · 12/02/2026 14:08

Christina has had her character re-booted. I assume as they have realised what a fine actress she is so they have made her more long term than a stint as Jenny's nemesis.

Perhaps the same happened with Roy

I thought originally that Ollie might be working for Joel's parents, I suppose he still could be. Deedee and their grandson have gone, but Frankie is another grandchild of their's.

He did & there was definitely some sort of undercurrent with Toyah that then went nowhere!

I like what they’ve done with Christina - she’s a great character & brings out the best with George (& Todd) but also her backstory lets her be mischievous or a formidable enemy should they go down those routes.

Shellingbynight · 12/02/2026 14:47

Was Ollie's interest in Toyah because he realised she is Eva's half sister?

@Andepeda Lauren has so little interest in Frankeh now, he may as well go and live with the grandparents anyway!

Justpolly · 12/02/2026 14:47

@Shellingbynight thank you x

Yes, Roy did buy Alma's cafe! I had forgotten about that!

I liked Alma. Remember when she had a crush on Stephen? I mean to be fair, he was quite attractive back in the day; tall, blond, nice smile, fairly handsome face. And that exotic Canadian accent. I'm sure he is American in real life - but he's Canadian on Corrie. Smile

He was only in his early to mid 30s when he came into it in the mid 1990s I think... Alma was nearly 30 years older than Stephen. She was attractive, but most men in their early to mid 30s aren't looking to be in a relationship with a woman who is in her early 60s.

eggandonion · 12/02/2026 16:49

Alma was lovely and should never have been killed off.
Toyah and Leanne are stepsister and Leanne is Eva's half sister? Toyah was the fake mother of Susie.
But they seem to have decided to be sisters because its easier. Was Peter the fake dad of Susie? Was there a baby photo in Kens sideboard.? Too much drama.

Yes he was, Susie was named after his sister that Billy killed

A LOVE bite? Theo gave Todd a LOVE bite?! WTF? Is he 14?! 😂

Also agree about the wayward mothers on Corrie, and I dislike Jodie, and now Sam on drugs! ARGH! It was starting to get quite good over the past few months too!

Yep love bite 🤢

Gingercar · 12/02/2026 20:54

Would Gary really give Todd an earful in front of his kid and not believe the kid had been a brat?

Would Gary really give Todd an earful in front of his kid and not believe the kid had been a brat?

Hmmm, I wonder?

How tedious that they're making Gary's son a rebel/a bad lad now! 🙄

How long before he goes to the STC?!

Megan Trainer properly gives me the heebie jeebies. She's such a creep! Hmm

I wonder where George is going to stand with the deceased woman leaving him money in her will? (And her daughter kicking off?)

I'm no expert, but I'm sure that you are allowed to refuse an inheritance. George doesn't have to take the money. I'm sure of it.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 12/02/2026 21:56

Oh Gary would definitely give Todd an earful. Gary likes an opportunity to kick off and Be In The Right.

What is actually going on with Will and Megan? She keeps saying ‘when we move away’ - but what does he think they are waiting for?

Christina went down in my estimation today, she does have £ signs in her eyes. Of course George cannot tarnish his reputation by being in dispute with a client's daughter over the Will! He can and should refuse the inheritance.

Any storyline involving Sam is always dire and the drugs/homework is no exception. Megan has gone very Korean glass face, she’s taken over from Abi.

And what is this nonsense with Lily, day 3 of Cup Gate, fabricated so Jodie can insert herself in the drama.

SabreIsMyFave · 12/02/2026 22:06

Yes @Shellingbynight Megan's Korean Glass face looks daft. Looks like she's sweating all the time. In mid February, with a windchill of 2-3 degrees C, and nowt but rain all year so far! 😆

And yes, Christina did seem like she wanted George to accept the money off the deceased lady, but whilst 10 grand is a nice little pile of money, it's not lifechanging, and if I was George I would refuse it. The implications could be devastating to him and his business. Is it worth it for 10 grand?

He really convinces as Gary's son though - a right little mini me.

AmusedMaker · 13/02/2026 06:56

Can’t believe Gary would tell Theo about the argument Todd had with his son, absolutely ridiculous.

Shellingbynight · 13/02/2026 08:05

Theo is Gary's mate though isn't he? I didn't find that particularly unbelievable (no more than the rest of it 😆). The kid who plays Jake is good, I don't know if he is a recast or if we just haven't seen him for ages.

BuffysBigSister · 13/02/2026 08:12

I was wondering if maybe Christina has a bigger role to play in the changing of the will to benefit George? I know it looks like she's had a bit of a character-change lately but what if she's sensed the "opportunities" of working in the business and has gone back to her old ways. I may be completely wrong.
