Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon. Smile

I completely forgot about Rob and the kidney drama. Was there any point to that?
Bethany was in the salon doing something when Hawp was having issues with Roooby. That's a while ago.
The Pub family seem to have taken control of all the writers!

zanahoria · 06/02/2026 16:54

The only thing I care about right now is Sam's homework, I thought it would get a mention last night but no corrie!

SabreIsMyFave · 06/02/2026 19:57

Shellingbynight · 06/02/2026 13:51

@SabreIsMyFave surely you have not forgotten those heart rending scenes where Carla was hospitalised needing a kidney last year, Swain at her bedside, Rob offering his kidney and breaking out of jail and shooting someone - unforgettable kidney memories surely 😂

How did I forget that?! 😆

Yes, what was that about?! Like the older woman grooming Tim thing. Is that ever coming back?

OP posts:
AnnieLummox · 06/02/2026 20:36

I’m assuming Tim will at some point spot what’s going on with Will and Megan Trainer and he’ll end up a) realising it was wrong and b) supporting/rescuing Will.

More prison storylines. Sick to the back teeth of them.

SabreIsMyFave · 06/02/2026 20:57

Oh poor Debbie. 😢 I feel so sorry for her. They HAVE to get her out of prison. She can't stay.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 06/02/2026 21:34

I love Debbie. But I don't feel sorry for her because it's all so contrived, and I don't believe a word of it.

And even if I believed it, it's her own fault. She knew she wasn't driving, she decided to take the blame, and I am not invested in the "you're my son" reasons either.

And she was in jail for all of 30 seconds before having a TIA. You'd think they would at least wait a day or two before chucking that into the mix.

SabreIsMyFave · 06/02/2026 22:04

Yeah there is part of me that thinks 'Debbie you silly mare, why did you take the blame for that shitty twat?!'

Agree about the TIA too.

@zanahoria I agree Abi is in general a pain with her self-justification. But that scene felt authentic to me, she will never get over Seb’s death. They do harp on a bit about Seb, but at least it isn’t like most soap storylines where people forget deaths and disasters within three months (as mentioned above - Tracey and Carla's kidneys rarely get a mention and Tracey's would have run out of juice years ago).

I think 20 years ago the Bailey’s would have been a one year wonder like the Morton family on Classic. Nowadays they seem unwilling to admit characters don’t work. Ronnie is great, the others can do one.

Ed sounds like he's declaiming Shakespeare, not talking about cement. Not that he ever does talk about cement, because unlike 20 years ago the builder on the Street never does any building work.

And they have never mentioned DD and baby since she left soon forgotten!
Just wish Carl would come out and tell em all sick of this storyline already . Ah well at least it’s keeping the Driscoll family off our screens. Lets be grateful for small mercies!

It really is tedious.

They seem determined to ruin the show's best character

At least we have the hope of the appeal!

eggandonion · 06/02/2026 23:26

Adam will sort things. With his trusty helper Alya.
I'd like Ryan to have a lovely girlfriend and run the hotel really well. Imagine nice people.

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2026 08:24

They never introduce anyone nice nowadays do they? Anyone new is guaranteed to be some type of villain, the street is knee deep in them. I had hopes for Jodie as she's so well cast, but no, she has to unhinged and out for revenge.

I fear the Driscolls will be back next week. We have to find out what happened to Sam's homework at some point!

eggandonion · 07/02/2026 08:59

The older pub brother seems nice. Ollie? But he must be up to no good.

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2026 09:08

Oh yes Ollie seems nice. But he is so bland I had completely forgotten about him! They need to give him a personality and storyline.

Why would anyone nice want to live there?

It is a whole street full of criminals and scumbags

the80sweregreat · 07/02/2026 10:06

Can anyone work at Roy’s ? .. it seems they just have a revolving door of employees sometimes lol

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2026 10:25

We said last night that any old random can turn up and work behind the counter at Roy's. Mal didn't even wash his hands!

That was my first observation and thought. A very basic action before handling food if working in a cafe. WASH YOUR HANDS !

Roy never looks particularly "fresh" either. Nina should be wearing a hairnet too. 🙄

The cafe seems to be thriving though as half the street eat there every day. 🫣

MaePedwarGolau · 07/02/2026 14:26

Forget Sam's homework, what did Ma Driscoll find in the Barlow's cupboard? Will we ever find out?

zanahoria · 07/02/2026 14:29

and we were treated to Christina ogling Mal, hardly eye candy, George is better than him

eggandonion · 07/02/2026 14:57

George seems nice. Has he ever done anything not nice apart from a dull inheritance feud?

Yes, I still wonder about that too.

Yes

Wasn't there some tampering with Julie's corpse when Eileen was suspected of killing her?

Middlemarch123 · 07/02/2026 19:41

I love Debbie, but she should have seen this outcome.
I hope her son has an attack of conscience and confesses, wishful thinking on my part.
If Ronnie had never told her what Carl said, then this could have been avoided. Oh well. Hope we see lots more of our Debs, and justice is served. X
