Anyone else looking forward to the new series?

First task is the classic buying task, but it's taking place in Hong Kong.

There's also a new companion show - 'Unfinished Business' - let's hope it's a return to form after several years of the 'All About Tom Allen' show 😆

It's quite an impressive thing to cook potatoes three times and still not to have actually cooked them (or even at any of those three times checked they are cooked).

I think it was more the lack of accountability that got her fired, more than undercooking potatoes.

(Though if I remember right, she did claim she could cook.)

No, it isn’t a crime, your DS is right. But who really would serve uncooked potatoes at a corporate event? It’s the easiest thing in the world to check. Just try one yourself!

Apart from on TV entertainment show, who except a proper chef would cook themselves for a corporate event?

This.

Also with apparently no way for the team running the activity to contact the team doing the cooking to let them know when they’re on their way?

The boat team should have dropped the kayak idea when they got soaked trying it too.

They should have given a time and stuck to it. How do they think people managed before mobile phones?

Absolutely!

She's the type of person who in a meeting would want to have every objection minuted in detail to cover her arse.

Umanresources · 07/03/2026 13:36

Even though Megan had organised 25 events last year, she probably had a decent team working with her, instead of this shower 😂. No-one seems willing to work as a team. They want to be the one who stands out for winning the task, unfortunately they very rarely do. “The candidates consistently set low standards for themselves and fail to achieve them". A misquote from several school reports of famous people, but quite appropriate here I think.

Yes just parboil them first and chill them till ready to deep fry, not difficult

thenightsky · 07/03/2026 14:55

Why were the candidates cooking when we saw them negotiating with a caterer to provide a mid priced meal?

I think that's what usually happens - they negotiate with the caterer to buy the food but then cook it themselves as then there is more potential for cock ups which makes for more entertaining telly.

Yes, they always get the recipes and ingredients from the supplier then balls it up themselves.

I still can't get my head around how those wedges went so wrong.

LaMarschallin · 07/03/2026 15:59

Quite!
I know they're doing the cooking themselves but I thought were at least given some instructions to follow.
She must have really skimped on the boiling and first frying stage. If they were done properly, they'd have needed a fairly brief cook in hot fat to crisp them up and warm them through once the party arrived. She should have started to heat the oil the minute the clients were sighted.
That would at least have kept people happy until the salmon.
She obviously couldn't come up with a decent reason and just fudged around it like they all do.

NewAgeNewMe · 07/03/2026 16:45

I wonder if they are given a set amount of time, so set up to fail? The guests were late coming back, so no excuse for the potatoes not to be properly cooked.

Mypoorbody · 07/03/2026 22:21

I wonder if they are discouraged from tasting because they won’t know hygiene for cooking for the public (though tbf you see professionals on things like Masterchef with questionable knowledge.)

Considering none of them seem to have even basic cooking skills maybe compared to them she thought she was Gordon Ramsey? I shove raw potato wedges in the air fryer with a coating of oil and they cook, so god knows how she managed to serve raw potatoes!

This! "It's not a crime" is a low bar!
It's a basic to send out food which is cooked. Hard, raw, colf potatoes was such a stupid error.

LeticiaMorales · 08/03/2026 08:29

A surprise kayak event was a bit silly, really. They weren't dressed for it, so were wet and uncomfortable.

NewGirlInTown · 09/03/2026 06:10

I thought the triple firing was brilliant.
so obvious that none of the three were Final calibre, so best get rid of them.
The awful negative woman, whose name escapes me, how on earth was she selected?

Andrea - she was their token 'old' candidate (46). They always have one who's over 40.

The food thing was bizarre- what is the point of negotiating with a chef , surely they could as easily research a recipe and source the food at cost price.
Obviously it is designed for the tv farce element but really how does not cooking wedges mean that Carrington who I thought was very good was incompetent at business.

I think there are a few decent candidates:
• Karishma
• Rothna (who is unbelievably beautiful but her business is baking which has already been done and didn’t seem to set the world on fire)
• Conor

I absolutely hate myself for thinking this but I think Kieran might be half decent too , I wouldn’t want him to date my daughter but I think he has potential and not as cock sure as he seems 🥴.

Lastly ai thought they all looked very stylish this week including Tim and BB which was nice to see, less Karen Millen power dressing.

And what if some of the participants couldn't swim? Surely you'd have to do a risk assessment for something like that!

I agree with this and would add Priyesh, and agree about Kieran

I liked Karren's straw hat.

SabrinaThwaite · 12/03/2026 21:12

Anyone watching?

the80sweregreat · 12/03/2026 21:17

I am watching, but I’ve never picked up a consul let alone played any kind of game like this, so haven’t a clue! I know I’m in the minority..
