Anyone else looking forward to the new series?

First task is the classic buying task, but it's taking place in Hong Kong.

There's also a new companion show - 'Unfinished Business' - let's hope it's a return to form after several years of the 'All About Tom Allen' show 😆

I've caught up on all three episodes while begrudgingly wasting a day off sorting out life admin this morning and quite distracted by the one walking like she's on a catwalk! Apparently her business idea is swimwear and lounge wear for fuller busts - sort of explains the parading if she's trying to catch media attention and promote her business early in the game.

Was pleased, at first, to see an older candidate too, but disappointed in her behaviour so far.

Minor derail: Isn't it peeling them that's the absolute bastard, though? Mine always end up looking as if someone's already been chewing them. (Cracking the shell all over and leaving them to cool in cold water was a slight help, but still not foolproof.)

True but when she was told to roll it on the counter to crack it all over she did it so gently!!

To be fair, there were a lot of eggs around.

Just caught up with episode 2 and 3. God they really are the most unlikeable bunch for a long while (and that’s saying something for the Apprentice)

Only one that seems a decent person is Dan but he is going to get eaten alive by the others. Karishma on the other team who tried to go in for £27 before getting ambushed seems ok too

I've spent this miserable Friday afternoon catching up with Apprentice. What a shower! The blonde woman (Meghan?) is the spit of Princess Fiona.

Are the winners not getting a treat anymore? Where's the spa afternoons, cocktail making and hang gliding type prizes?

No treats this series.

Eggs I was WTF! Then thought quiche, frittata, omelette. Didn’t even think of pasta so FairPlay to them. Eggs canapés? 🤢 unless quails eggs. Chicken was way easier.

So far Karishma is my favourite at the moment. That will probably change next week.

I was thinking French toast- sweet or savoury toppings etc. Those canapes looked disgusting but what 'egg based' canapes would you be able to do?

mini quiche
ravioli type thing
mini pancake with smoked salmon
little cakes
devilled egg

Mini Yorkshire puddings or Yorkshire pudding wraps?

Vol au vents with an egg and cress filling. Went down well when my dm did drinks and nibbles parties back in the day. Go retro

Well there you go - it didn’t take long for us to come up with some good ones!!!

I was thinking surely they know there are cooking tasks in the show, how would you not at least learn a few basic things? I had to get more wine when it was revealed none of the kitchen team would be able to taste the actual pasta dish...bloody genius 😂

Dh and I were wetting ourselves. 3 out of 4 of the team didn’t eat at least one of the ingredients. Surprised they did as well as they did!

I was thinking the only guy who could taste it would end up getting fired for having poor tastebuds and being completely bewildered by his fate

although that kind of happened as I don’t think tanmay deserved to be fired

Oh yeah all those canapes sound nice! Maybe the boiled eggs on a stick with cranberry sauce just bleached my brain into thinking there werent any!

And who, if they couldn't cook would attempt 80 portions of pasta from scratch?

I got the impression the guy with glasses knew what he was doing

BB isn’t very pleasant, I preferred MM and at least Tim is a bit kinder

I think Dan is quite competent but he’s a bit condescending towards the others (plus those weird teeth!). He’s obviously quite a lot more intelligent than most of the others but might be too polite for SurAlan who likes a bit of ‘bovver boy’ attitude.

So tonight we have the advertising task - always a good one! Don't forget to crack open your bottled water!
