Absolutely loved every thrilling minute. Best show on tv. Well-deserved winners x

I'm baffled by how some people have reacted to Rachel. I thought she was great right from the beginning. Far less self-absorbed than some of the youngsters. From what we've seen I'd have been very happy to have her as a colleague or neighbour or school Mum.

Agree completely with this comment! A fantastic player who gave it her all. Her and Stephen made a brilliant team.

I thought it was interesting on Uncloaked when the last remaining faithfuls were asked about if they'd noticed the relationship between Stephen and Rachel and Jade said that she had noticed no relationship between them at all. If I was a Traitor I think I'd be looking at the other Traitor in key moments or trying to have a quick word with them at times. I'd be caught very quickly. Their relationship worked because of trust and level headedness. They were both brilliant at thinking on their feet and I don't think either dominated the dynamic. Well done to both of them - a genuinely well deserved win.

I think you have misread my post. I love Rachel. But clearly from the many posts here calling her a psychopath/ devious/ hard faced, many are uncomfortable with a competent and cool woman.

The same goes for the press.

For me there is such a narrow space in which women are "permitted" to exist. If we show any emotion then we're "overly emotional" or accused of not being in control of ourselves. If we don't show enough emotion then we get the reaction that Rachel is getting here. And in my professional experience, trying to find that balance, that place in which I can exist without criticism, results in being overlooked and forgotten. It's just impossible to win.

CharlotteRumpling · 24/01/2026 11:04

Jade didn't notice much. She was too preoccupied with the attacks on her.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/01/2026 11:14

Absolutely right result
traitors played an excellent GAME
faithfulls were the biggest flip flops I've ever seen

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/01/2026 11:15

And Jade really came across badly
Dont know if that was the edit but she genuinely seemed pissed off the whole way through and almost Leanne like although not as obnoxious about being accused and then voted off which is the actual game

Its an over-40 woman vs younger gay man, I would expect nothing else.

It was once my default read, within two years of Viner taking over I’d cancelled my sub and it continued its steady departure from factual reporting ever since.

But Stephen … not surprised this came from the guardian. It’s sad that the left - and the media like the guardian, don’t celebrate strong successful women like Rachel. I’d like to see them celebrate her sex and age and success. No chance

Gender ideology has been a disaster for working-class women

We don’t talk enough about the classism that fuels transgender ideology and other faddish beliefs popular in Britain

Just saw the cardigan brand on TikTok say they have some stock to the traitors stylists so they indeed have clothes they can choose to wear.

On another note does anyone feel like the prize money should be higher for such a big successful TV show? Especially when you compare with the likes of Who wants to be a millionaire or even Deal or no deal where bigger prizes are won.

I think if the prize money were much higher it would make it too high stakes - contestants get stressed enough as it is. I think it’s enough for it to be motivating but not so much it goes full hunger games.

Edited

Yes lots of high profile gay men very happy to go along with TWAW. I don’t think this is representative though - irl most people know it’s nonsense. Bio women often get the raw deal
as proven by how it’s now common to have to use a prefix before the work women.

Jade reminds me of some of the younger women at work who need validation at all times.

Iheartwhitetshirts · 24/01/2026 11:32

Just catching up on this and the previous thread. Excellent ending and the best players won.

I’m irritated by the constant digs at people who work in communications. Rachel is the head of comms at a little employability charity she’s not Alastair Campbell ffs.

She was a brilliant strategic player who deserved to win. As did Steven.

Aaaaaaaaawwwwwww · 24/01/2026 11:36

I was delighted that they won together, and they both played an important role in that. I feel that Rachel got them to the strategic position to be in the final (and helped Stephen out more than once), then Stephen was essential at the final few votes. Rachel really was in Stephen’s hands there.

Jade wound me up with her constant tit for tat and victim complex. Jake was meh. I did like James though, and quite fond of Faraaz, but he hasn’t built up enough influence over the course of the game to be effective at the end because he laid low.

Appalonia · 24/01/2026 11:38

Rachel and Stephen are on R2 now. Her response to Faraaz calling her grandma, was funny. She just said, laughing, well grandma's rich!😂

Fodencat · 24/01/2026 11:38

Throughout the whole series I couldn’t believe that no one picked up on Stephen looking terrified at every round table. I thought he was going to collapse several times and last night he looked like he was drenched in sweat! Well done Stephen though x

I wish they had won more money.

PinterandPirandello · 24/01/2026 11:49

I wondered earlier whether they’ll make more money from appearances outside of a BBC contract. Possibly Rachel will be headhunted for a higher profile comms job - she definitely seems to have the skills.

Well, it's on BBC so it's never going to have big prizes. And I think that's fine because I can't believe anyone going on it really cares that much about the money. I don't believe that's what motivates them to apply.

Beachtastic · 24/01/2026 12:02

It was a fair win, but I have to laugh at the storyline that their "loyalty" to each other shows a truly loving relationship between Rachel and Stephen... as well as the idea that all the players are firm friends for life (whatever they say on exiting the round table when banished).

Anyone who's endured a residential course will be familiar with the Stockholm syndrome that sets in after a couple of days!

Re Rachel and Stephen in particular, Rachel's best chance of winning was to keep Stephen in place, and I didn't really warm to her general approach ("Pity anyone who dares to cross me"). I'm pretty sure Stephen's final voting decisions were influenced by having his eyes on a much bigger prize - I'm sure he will do well on TV or something, as he is just spectacularly fun to watch, and very smart and funny. Also a proper hunk under those marvellous outfits - apart from generating memes with his hilarious facial expressions, he must surely be the No. 1 gay pinup now?

Puffalicious · 24/01/2026 12:15

I'm not keen on the US version, but really want to see Alan Cumming's outfits. I think he's bloody great & his style is wonderful. Off to Google!

TheGreenBow · 24/01/2026 12:21

Please can someone recommend the best/most entertaining traitors series that they’ve seen that’s worth watching? Non-Uk as seen all those. Really want to start a new series as sad this one is over!

What are you saying this in response to? It doesn’t follow the post you quoted and it’s not a point made in the article that has been linked to (again, somewhat randomly as Rachel doesn’t seem to be working class).

Thewonderfuleveryday · 24/01/2026 12:23

Minor celeb spot fanfare! We just saw James getting a train in London. That's my excitement for the year.

Puffalicious · 24/01/2026 12:25

I have not been disappointed! Some waaaaaay out there/camp/ over the top creations, but also some seriously fabulous tailoring that showcases young, Scots talent. Go Alan.

I keep saying that the Scottish Tourist board must be involved somehow, & they've played a blinder, as the Highlands look phenomenal. We know they are, but they've really been shown to their best in Traitors- even the rain looks good! I imagine we'll be swarmed with even more American tourists this summer: a good thing for local business (but my friend who lives nearby would maybe disagree about the numbers & the infrastructure).

I've been on the train a few times & it's a wonderful journey if you get a good day for it.

dayswithaY · 24/01/2026 12:25

I don’t get the love for Rachel. She needed Stephen as a human shield and she got through due to him being more likeable than her with the other players. He very generously defended her as far as he could without arousing suspicion. She did well off of that.

She also benefited from rubbish faithfuls including her friends Amanda and Roxy.

If she had to work with a clueless traitor - or a less polite and compliant traitor - she would have been sunk. I also felt she acted quite superior to Stephen - she is very sure that it was her alone that won it and he should be grateful is what I am picking up from her attitude.

There is some simmering tension between Rachel and Stephen as she has mentioned a few too many times that she didn’t think Stephen would stick with her to the end ie, he’s untrustworthy. He is just too nice to challenge her on this but he knows what she’s doing.

I hope he goes on to get lots of TV work and leaves her trailing in the dust, she’s very dull in comparison.

I agree, I think it would make it a very different game if it involved very high stakes prize money and not in a good way.

The money is just enough to be an incentive to win & to try hard to complete missions but not enough for it to wholly dominate the game which it would if it was a huge amount.
As it is, I feel it's more about actually playing the game for most players rather than fixating on a life changing amount of money and, to my mind, that's how it should be.
