I’m so happy they stayed true to each other.

rachel was the truest of them. But Stephen did the right thing in the end after a wobble.

love them both

Nara2k · 24/01/2026 12:36

Did he really wobble tho or was it just the editing?? I think she played a blinder to get Faraaz's support when James went out. Jack and Faraaz could have won if they had supported each other the way Stephen and Rachel did.

ABoldStatement · 24/01/2026 12:38

Thinking (out loud) through all your options, especially when your fellow traitor is under a lot of suspicion which will bring fallout on you, is not having a wobble.

On Uncloaked he basically said he wobbled. I can’t blame him, I would wobble too!

Of course you can. But to say " Rachel would definitely have thrown Stephen under the bus" when you have no way of knowing that- and she saved him many times- seems weird to me ( I am not saying you have said this but posters have).

I liked Amanda and Harriet. Fiona was unhinged and played a terrible game, so no, I don't rate her.

Edited

I liked all three- Harriet. Amanda and Rachel.

Fiona was annoying and really didn't know what she was doing . Completely unhinged. Though the episode she was voted out was entertaining.

It’s the fact that Jack and Faraz didn’t know each other’s status is what made that harder for them.

I don’t get the love for Rachel. She needed Stephen as a human shield and she got through due to him being more likeable than her with the other players. He very generously defended her as far as he could without arousing suspicion. She did well off of that.

She also benefited from rubbish faithfuls including her friends Amanda and Roxy.

If she had to work with a clueless traitor - or a less polite and compliant traitor - she would have been sunk. I also felt she acted quite superior to Stephen - she is very sure that it was her alone that won it and he should be grateful is what I am picking up from her attitude.

There is some simmering tension between Rachel and Stephen as she has mentioned a few too many times that she didn’t think Stephen would stick with her to the end ie, he’s untrustworthy. He is just too nice to challenge her on this but he knows what she’s doing.

I hope he goes on to get lots of TV work and leaves her trailing in the dust, she’s very dull in comparison.

I agree.

Can’t quote the poster who disagreed that it wasn’t Stephen’s money to give away as it was on the previous thread. He had the option to keep all the money for himself by voting for Rachel as he knew Jack would be voting for her. He effectively chose to share it - it was his to give away. A lovely and kind thing to do and very few would do that.

I thought Stephen was just a decent human. I think he wobbled with Rachel near the end when he thought she was going to turn on him but ultimately he stuck with her and honoured their pact. If he’d voted Jack he would have got all the money but everyone would have hated him. Ultimately, as Claudia said, they remained faithful to each other. I did feel sorry for Jack though.

Please can someone recommend the best/most entertaining traitors series that they’ve seen that’s worth watching? Non-Uk as seen all those. Really want to start a new series as sad this one is over!

Australia series one was epic!

US Traitors, for Alan Cummings and his dog Lala, alone. I much prefer it, even though it is celebrities and includes a lot of Real Housewives in the casts/

What are you saying this in response to? It doesn’t follow the post you quoted and it’s not a point made in the article that has been linked to (again, somewhat randomly as Rachel doesn’t seem to be working class).

Just agreeing re skewed reporting.

Oooh, I heard Aus series 2 was very good, was going to watch that first.

For me there is such a narrow space in which women are "permitted" to exist. If we show any emotion then we're "overly emotional" or accused of not being in control of ourselves. If we don't show enough emotion then we get the reaction that Rachel is getting here. And in my professional experience, trying to find that balance, that place in which I can exist without criticism, results in being overlooked and forgotten. It's just impossible to win.

Totally agree.

I think a lot of Rachel’s criticism comes from the fact that she came in with her in-it-to-win-it hat on and she never took it off once. She was always laser focused on the reasons why she was there - her family - and I think that’s why she never formed the same connections, she didn’t forget her core purpose in the way others did.

I don’t think that’s cold or ruthless, she knew what (or who) her long term priorities were - and obviously it’s not people she met mere days previously!

CrossPurposes · 24/01/2026 13:25

YouWillNeverGuessMyUsername · 24/01/2026 09:11

Agreed. They both played well, Stephen wavered more, and messed up more, lied more blatantly to people, relied on his likeable nature...

But somehow people are saying -
Rachel's a conniving woman who got through on luck and would have thrown Stephen to the wolves... Despite no evidence that she ever would do that...

Stephen - fab player, loyal to the end, faultless, generous giving half "his" winnings away...

Agree.

I doubt that Rachel went in this to get any TV work. She played a brilliant game. I doubt she wants to be famous.
Stephen seems nice enough but the last thing we need IMHO is another camp TV presenter. I would definitely have voted for Rachel if I had been in Stephen's shoes, much as I admired Rachel I was disappointed he bottled out.
Maybe I'm a psychopath though as I definitely don't get emotional when being deceptive in games and someone upthread said this was psychopathic!
I also (realising I'm in the minority here) can't see anything attractive about Jade. Amanda didn't bully her, Jade just got really defensive like a sulky teenager and said that noone else has had such a hard time at round tables which is totally untrue.

I couldn't stand the US version, only got through one episode. I'm not sure if it carried on but in series 1 the tasks were all the same as UK series 1 making it even more boring.

Agreed!!! It’s bloody brilliant. My favourite ever contestant in any UK, US, NZ and Australian traitors is Nigel from Australia season 1. I ❤️ him.

I loved Nigel too.

One of my favourite tasks was in one of the Australian series - in order to get a shield, they simply had to swim to the centre of a lake to get it. It was fascinating to watch - some really went for it, some had a go and some just thought 'Nah, I've got no hope' and didn't even try!

CharlotteRumpling · 24/01/2026 10:08

I think you have misread my post. I love Rachel. But clearly from the many posts here calling her a psychopath/ devious/ hard faced, many are uncomfortable with a competent and cool woman.

The same goes for the press.

Rachel is cool and competent, as is Stephen, but she has a nasty side that came up every now and then. Lacked human warmth throughout. Still she deserved to win. The faithfuls, with the only exception of Harriet and Jessie, were inept.

dapsnotplimsolls · 24/01/2026 13:46

Have any former contestants actually made a living out of being on the show? I gather Harry's quite big on SM but I don't know if he makes a living out of it.

I think Mina presents and Alexander on classic fm - the person who was an interior designer - raised her profile a lot.

FishfingerFlinger · 24/01/2026 09:40

Yeah if the tables were turned in the final vote and Rachel had been the one with the opportunity to take all the money, I really don’t know that she would have done.

None of us know, only Rachel, so speculation is a bit pointless - all we do know is they made a pact never to write each other's names on the chalk baords, and they both had the integrity to stick to that. I think that would have been the case had the roles been reversed (and I am sure it that case the edit would have gently suggested Rachel was thinking of stealing, as it did with Stephen last night). Rachel did say on Uncloaked (I think in the part two bit) that she found it increasingly difficult and wanted to be softer and friendlier - but that would have given her away (as a change in behaviour, which is the classic 'clue' grasped at by the Faithful).
