The BBC isn’t paying, the production company pays - they can’t pile everyone on the same bus 🙄 They all stay in a fairly basic hotel - that’s where cash is saved and corridors are guarded so they can’t confer/ sneak out and see the Traitors returning later etc

I bet they could go in mini bus

whoever is paying will want to keep costs down - hence the bagging smoked salmon at breakfast seem to say not enough to go round

another poster has confirmed they get into regular cars

Htcunya · 25/01/2026 15:36

I read that the castle breakfast is largely ornamental, and the croissants rather stale, and that they've already had breakfast in their hotel rooms.
Lunch and dinner in the castle is supposed to be ok though.

I thought Rachel had genuine warmth alongside an ability to stay cool, calm, and collected when under pressure.

Rather than the faux warmth of over excitable people who gurn all the time, tell people they barely know they love them, and are hugging every other minute.

Rachel is the real deal for me.

Agreed!

They must have a good while to get ready in the hotel in the morning. Everyone always has such lovely hair and is well presented.

I also assume they must have a space to change in the castle as they get changed for the challenges and then are back into their regular clothes when they are eating.

As far as I know they all actually stay in a Travel lodge or similar somewhere near Inverness. They book out the entire thing, or at least an entire floor for the duration.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/01/2026 16:28

Yes, I'm fascinated by these details too. I assume they have lots of clothes stored at the castle on an upper floor and can get changed up there before and after the missions. I read on a previous year's thread that the business of arriving at breakfast is not at all as they make it appear in the edit. It can't be really or they would work out that the very last people to arrive are always the ones who were considered for murder but spared for some reason.

WonderfulSmith · 25/01/2026 16:58

I’ve just seen this elsewhere. Confirmation about the cardigans.

They did seem super keen to nab the castle smoked salmon though 😂

They did!

I thing it must have been a brunch

I did wonder if they figured out the last three in the room
were the ones up for vote

I have an even poorer opinion of Jack after reading this. What show did he think he was on?

Oh I reckon I’d have some anger - he just missed out on 100k by a twist right at last minute

I think it’s more odd not to be angry - I’d be spitting feathers

He did absolutely nothing to deserve it. Not one theory, no game play, not even running up the hill despite being a PT!

Even when Stephen practically pointed Rachel out to him, he voted for James.
Pretty entitled to think you deserve to win.

I would think he thought he was a great player

I’ve never heard anyone say I think I was really shit!

dapsnotplimsolls · 25/01/2026 20:51

He wouldn't have won anyway even if Stephen had voted for Rachel! Imagine how furious he'd have been if it had just been him and Stephen and Stephen was then revealed as a Traitor ...

Can you imagine? Both Rachel and Jack would have been livid with him if he’d done that. I’m not sure it would have been worth the extra money to cause that amount of bad feeling!

Yes except James - that was his defence all the time

The BBC has done a Traitors fashion article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce9y1747z3go

I had no idea that Stephen’s jumpsuit outfit cost £860! WTF?! The same as Harry Styles wears on stage. I knew his wide eyed ‘wow, things like this just don’t happen to boys from the islands like me’ thing was total bollocks, but honestly.

and Rachel and Jade wearing £400 knitwear. I don’t care about what people spend their money on but I really dislike having to watch the sob stories of ‘this prize money will mean so much to my family’ when people are clearly MINTED already. Ugh.

Just be honest and say you want to buy 4 designer jumpsuits or 8 designer jumpers or whatever

Jade and Stephen from the cast of The Traitors UK, series 4

The Traitors fashion explained: Knitwear, jumpsuits and Cluedo

It's not just what they say or how they act that influences their fellow contestants - it's how they dress, too.

Aren't these outfits provided for them? Some kind of tie up?

Some one earlier said yes with the woollens

beigeybeige · 25/01/2026 21:37

BBC article says they all have to dress themselves. I assumed they’d not want contestants to be advertising sponsored stuff on the show

Hope McCaulay confirmed on their socials that they loaned a few pieces to the show.

@WonderfulSmith posted earlier, a photo of their comment to someone who asked about this on their Instagram page.
