To be fair the was never a strategic advantage for her to throw him under the bus - earlier in the game she’d have been forced to recruit, and by the end game he didn’t have the heat on him.

Whether loyalty might have stopped her is another issue, but it never made sense for her to have done it.

So sure about Rachel being awful/no loyalty

and Stephen being great!

there would be a myriad of ways she could have done it and benefitted

she clearly values integrity and said so

Edited

I’m not suggesting she is awful! I think her not trying to sacrifice Stephen is evidence she is smart more than it is evidence of loyalty. She could have done but what benefit would it had served?

We’ll never know because she didn’t do it but she could have

If you can’t point to a moment that it would have served her interests to throw Stephen under the bus, then you can’t use it as evidence of loyalty.

For what it’s worth I do think she had a genuinely strong allegiance with Stephen but I don’t think it proves much that she never set out to get him banished, because it wouldn’t have been strategically useful for her to do so.

when she said she wouldn’t write his name down and back him she meant it

I can’t remember all the show - it’s melded into one but I know how they came across

she could have jumped on Jessie bandwagon then recruited her - someone who would never be banished

45K doesn't make you rich but whatever (well maybe in her neck of the woods it does)

Give me £45,000 of your money then...

Rachel is cool and competent, as is Stephen, but she has a nasty side that came up every now and then. Lacked human warmth throughout. Still she deserved to win. The faithfuls, with the only exception of Harriet and Jessie, were inept.

What nasty side things did she do?

I couldn't stand the US version, only got through one episode. I'm not sure if it carried on but in series 1 the tasks were all the same as UK series 1 making it even more boring.

Same. Them already knowing each other and having played games like it already kinda just... Makes it meh.

Oh gosh another one - I didn’t see anything nasty

Stephen’s socials are incredibly well put together - either keg/his partner have a natural aptitude for photography and content creation or he’s getting some professional help (maybe both?) which suggests some kind of future with a public profile. He’d get work in style/fashion even if it’s just a content creator.

I actually thought Sam was the natural one for a media career, he was just very good on Uncloaked and has the looks for it. I don’t know if he’ll have a big enough post-show profile but maybe it could jump-start a career if he wanted one.

Sam had the whitest teeth, IIRC, but that was the only thing that made me think he could proceed to a media career.

As an aside, I am old and had basic NHS dentistry as a child. My teeth are anything but pearly white, but fortunately still there (for now). I still do a double take at the gleaming white, totally regular teeth so many young people have now. I hope whatever it is they're having done is not going to cause them problems later on.

Please can someone recommend the best/most entertaining traitors series that they’ve seen that’s worth watching? Non-Uk as seen all those. Really want to start a new series as sad this one is over!

I’d watch Aus 1 then 2 - both good but in VERY different ways

US 3 works - before that it’s a mess. Still not nearly as good as UK

NZ is very civilised with good faithfuls

BoxingHare · 24/01/2026 16:56

Going back to Harry. He was in some sort of celebrity SAS thing on C4. He lied and was duplicitous on there to the extent the SAS people chucked him out because he was out for himself, and not in any way thinking of his fellow team members.

I think one of the big reasons they won is they didn't recruit at all. Its been shown to be a terrible move in all the other civilian series, even if Jessie had wanted to be a traitor at the start, a forced faction change for someone who is playing so hard for the faithful has never gone well.

That’s like saying football is only a game so why is anyone doing post match analysis? People enjoy talking about the strategy of it not just the vibes!

Where are you watching these? I know that the Irish one is on BBC player

Yes I noticed that yesterday - all the finalists had great teeth!

Other than dazzling teeth I though Sam seemed natural and at ease with the camera on him. He just had the air of a presenter (and not just because of his resemblance to Ed Gamble!)

She needed Stephen more than Stephen needed her. it could have been just Jack and Stephen at the end. Rachel could have gone in the last round table had Stephen wanted for her to go. She never had that power over Stephen.

Beachtastic · 24/01/2026 17:28

WonderfulSmith · 24/01/2026 15:06

I think we would have all had a wobble. He trusted Rachel to not vote for him, but had he had the chance to win twice as much money if he voted for her.

He put it very clearly when he said it's hard to fully trust someone who is in there to lie. The closing hours must be a complete headfuck for everyone, but especially the traitors in a pact like that.

You seem to have it all sewn up 😂😂😂

I don’t agree with you and as I said, we will never know

don’t forget the show is edited to show a certain train of story, and it’s a TV show….it can go a myriad of ways

She could of if she played differently and went round starting conversations about him as he did her in the final days

imagine if she’d said “gosh Stephen’s so popular and floating under the radar”

didn’t she tell F she was voting for Stephen? She could have followed that through

could have been a different outcome altogether

Football has strict obvious and transparent rules!

this does not - it’s totally random - that’s why there are so many outcomes

and yes I can’t remember every detail but I know what I think about it overall - completely normal

None of those things were up to her. She could have tried to influence the others against Stephen but ultimately she couldn't control the faithful's votes.

Whereas Stephen voting to banish Rachel was entirely within his power.

She could have easily done it but instead chose differently - she seemed to take more of a listening and asking

she was a really influential member of the game and looked up to

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 17:46

Btw they film the outcome and then edit backwards to present the story getting to the end
