Hurray!! I was so happy with that result. Just shows that standing by loyalty and your word can pay off. Now...how do I pursuade Rachel to be my BFF :)

CaveMum · 23/01/2026 22:50

Can I suggest that someone else starts a thread for Irish Traitors so that no one accidentally comes across a spoiler for that series.

I won’t be doing threads for that series because:

a) I don’t know when I’ll be watching them myself
and
b) I need a lie down in a dark room after managing the last 12 threads!

Thank you for your efforts @CaveMum I’ve really enjoyed following along with everyone ☺️

A well deserved rest!

Luckystarss · 23/01/2026 22:56

Wow! Amazing show, amazing final!

the only thing so disappointing about the final or rather the uncloaked / how come BBC allowed to air an ageist slur by Faraaz?!
“Grandma “ Rachel ?!!! He said that a few times while reading the envelope with the names of traitors…

really poor of BBC to air that !

MapleSyrupOnToas · 23/01/2026 22:57

I liked Rachel. She was true to her word with Stephen and played the role of traitor very well.

I think Jade's father is/was a wealthy banker? So presumably she may be quite wealthy herself to afford the fancy cardigans.

FortyDegreeDay · 23/01/2026 22:59

Has anyone watched the US traitors? I keep getting fed snippets on TikTok and can see Maura Higgins (from Love Island) is currently on there? Wondering if I should try and watch it. Never watched the Irish version before but might give it a crack.

We've had Hope McCaulay cardigans worn by Charlotte Church, Tom Daley, jade and Rachel on the show.

I think they've given wardrobe a few for advertising.

He didn’t mean it that way - he meant it respectfully - also in his culture it’s not a slur - respectful of age and wisdom

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 23/01/2026 23:03

I can remember being 22 and thought people of thirty were ancient

I assume they did deals with designers to wear them?

It was a lighthearted joke between them.

Tell her she’s amazing and that you’re convinced she’s 100% faithful.

I've only watched the first US one - I don't really like the mixture of civilians and minor slebs.

Second this.

So glad for the outcome.

Great craic.

Guardian Review predictably calls Rachel ruthless, plotting, machinations, untrustworthy...blah blah. Says nothing about Stephen's plotting. Sexist crap.

Is that on iPlayer? I've watched some of the American ones before. They're very different from the UK ones! Much more cutthroat.

TheGreenBow · 23/01/2026 23:24

Can’t quote the poster who disagreed that it wasn’t Stephen’s money to give away as it was on the previous thread. He had the option to keep all the money for himself by voting for Rachel as he knew Jack would be voting for her. He effectively chose to share it - it was his to give away. A lovely and kind thing to do and very few would do that.

Edited

Labour / left wing. Always misogynistic crap.

TheGreenBow · 23/01/2026 23:27

Apart from Fiona being the ST which I thought was far too predictable, I’ve loved all the other surprises this series. I really thought they couldn’t win it together and I’d have put money on a faithful win after watching last night’s episode. I think the editing has been brilliant, it must be such hard work.

It was not an ageist slur, come the fuck on. It was a mutual and respectful joke between two people who were openly filmed laughing and talking about the age difference between them. He’s about 22. Anyone over 35 might as well be 105 to him.

So happy with the result! I thought Stephen would bail on the deal and I was genuinely so invested I watched through my fingers.

Rachel was utterly PHENOMENAL and deserved to win. Stephen, up to the final, couldn’t have won without her, and then right at the final COULD have won without her. Absolutely scenes. I’m glad he made the right decision. Faith in humanity restored. They were faithful to each other! The whole way through. Wholly in the spirit!

Umbilicat · 23/01/2026 23:27

Stephen behaved so honourably. All credit to him. He add nd Rachel so deserved it.
