Welcome to Thread 9 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far <spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the start of episode 9>

Who would you give the double vote? Because if you give it to eg James he will then assume Matthew can’t be a traitor as that’s too stupid. If you give it to Rachel or Stephen it makes them look traitorish. I’d give it to Roxy.

ThePoshUns · 17/01/2026 18:30

I agree they aren’t joining the dots. They aren’t forming any alliances, they all just want to be liked and stay under the radar.

How come nobody has thought to themselves: "Crikey, Rachel is seriously good at this. Everybody likes her and everybody trusts her, she is so calm and really astute, and when people have accused her, she shrugs it off so easily. She's an awesome Faithful and could easily win, so I simply cannot understand why the Traitors haven't murdered her yet.......... oh wait.......hang on....... <facepalm>...💡"

Because we are seeing a highly edited version. And we know she’s a traitor. You could say exactly the same about faraaz. But obviously we know he’s faithful.

SoScarletItWas · 17/01/2026 18:37

BlueLimes · 17/01/2026 16:16

Agree with that but I don’t think she’s a team player and that causes chaos at work.

I’ve said this on thread 1 but I do the same job as Rachel. We’re often the only people who do it in our company. That makes you pretty self-sufficient and you can sometimes feel a bit isolated (obviously you need a good network and to be able to get on with people, and to work in a team as well).

I’m not surprised she’s sometimes accused of being an ice maiden. Some of the things we have to be involved with would make you weep/angry if you couldn’t disassociate a bit.

Maggiethecat · 17/01/2026 17:16

They’re not mutually exclusive though. And if by nice we mean decent people not readily screwing others over to climb the ladder, and I had to choose, I’d choose nice to work with.

Mainly I want to work with people who can do the job. Nice is nice but not if they cannot do the job.

kc431 · 17/01/2026 18:59

Ugh, I hate the sob stories. I don’t care why you need the money, the best player should win. It’s so manipulative and shouldn’t be allowed in the game. I know we get to know them on a personal level, but there’s many things about a person other than the worst hardships they’ve been through and why that means they need 80k. I’d love for someone to say “I’m gonna spend the money on strippers and cocaine”.

If Jade sold some of those £400 cardigans she’d have a deposit for a flat up North!

Usethoseballsofjellyinyourhead · 17/01/2026 19:12

helplessbanana · 17/01/2026 13:35

Absolute classic negging, that.

Just like when someone sidles up to another kid at school and says "Don't worry, I know everybody else hates you, but I know you're nice really". Their victim is then absolutely convinced from then on that nobody likes them, and they become withdrawn and defensive.

I thought Rachel was actually saying it was a good thing for Jade, because Amanda had also suspected Sam and Sam was a faithful, so it indicated that Amanda hadn't a clue and Jade could well be a faithful as well despite Amanda's persistent accusations?

ThatCyanCat · 17/01/2026 19:17

I don't think the point of the sob stories is about deserving the money. They always have a dinner party once the group is down to a size that gives time to humanise everyone a bit. The drama and tension is high by that point and it's exactly when you need something gentler and more touching. It isn't always heartbreaking stories. Faraaz just told us a bit about his faith and his dreams; in S1, Andrea talked about being gay as an older person and how glad she was to have had this opportunity at her age. It's just what you need by that point as the group is smaller, more intimate,, and everyone forgets the game a bit and just enjoys getting to know each other... and then of course Claudia always crashes it with some sort of game twist to break the spell again.

It's just good dramatics!

CarminaBiryani · 17/01/2026 12:21

I think Rachel has used the FBI training on herself. Not revealing in her body language, befriending etc. Not sure why they don't think that's a possibility.

Yes - this is the point.

Do you really? The faithfuls have been well and truly duped too. Rachel keeps pushing the Amanda suspicions hoping that people will give it weight. After Sam’s banishment she could have said something like ‘well, so much for Amanda’s theories then’ to cast doubt but I believe she was just twisting the knife for Jade.

Mainly I want to work with people who can do the job. Nice is nice but not if they cannot do the job.

That goes without saying that you want to work with colleagues who are competent.
I’d rather work with someone who was good /competent and decent than someone who was brilliant but a snake.

ClaredeBear · 17/01/2026 19:51

beigeybeige · 17/01/2026 11:08

Its not a dinner party if it’s just cheese
Cut the cheese is an American fart joke
I don’t find it as gripping now the big characters have gone it’s just paranoid people.
I felt really sorry for Jade. Christ how dreadful.

The nice ones remaining are nice enough but I don’t feel I care about them or who will win though. The men are all still interchangeable apart from James (?) who I recognise with his ADHD and Stephen the traitor who is just bland and toadying in all directions to survive.

Rachel is a judgy hard faced managerial authoritarian type highly unlikeable but will win by keeping Roxy in as cover and then binning off her and Stephen.

The big character energy women have all gone. Fiona and Harriet. Amanda was let down unfortunately because her confidence in her concussions was misplaced.

It’s not that much fun watching extremely paranoid people accuse each other in a scattergun way over the tiny things. Is it because there’s nothing dastardly or confident about the traitors this time? Maybe it’s a sign of the times and cost of living where everyone (maybe not jadee then) really needs the money. Why’s she not been bought a flat already if she comes from a banking family?
Are all the player traitors or faithfuls all playing a very very safe game until the last 5 mins to try to keep themselves in it and so it’s not that fun to watch?

Aside from second guessing people’s intentions to win the game, what makes you say Rachel is “judgey”? I can’t think of a time where she’s made a judgement about anyone.

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 17/01/2026 19:56

HOLD UP why are people saying Rachel isn’t a ‘team player’? That is utter nonsense, surely. She has worked REALLY hard to think on her feet to cover Stephen’s hot mess several times and take the heat off him. She hasn’t ever voted for another traitor, until Fiona literally forced her hand and caused a huge big scene. Stephen has voted for both Fiona and Hugo?
Rachel’s team is the traitors! She’s not ‘on team faithful’ because that’s not the team she’s on. That’s like saying Harry Kane isn’t a ‘team player’ because he tries to tackle and take the ball off Albania and doesn’t let them score. Comeeeee on now.

In the first series that guy cheated.

Otherwise Wilf- a traitor would have won.

How did he cheat and get away with it?

Rachel did vote for Hugo. She actually didn't vote for Fiona despite attacking her and orchestrating her exit.

Ah I must be misremembering that way round then. The rest of my point still stands!

Sudden influx of defence for Rachel..

Shes possibly marmite but I’d still love to know why Harriet lost the plot.

I think it's the usual dislike for a successful, powerful woman. 🙄
If Rachel was a man I bet everyone would love her and be saying how great she is & how well she's been playing the game.

It’s not that. People liked Amanda and Harriet.

You might need to change your username after you have watched it back. Stephen was the traitor who voted for Hugo.

The table is correct. Rachel did NOT vote for Hugo. She said she was absolutely delighted in the turret after he left, and in her diary room interview, she said she didn't have to do anything.

Like a pp says, Jade carried right on looking mortified, so Rachel's outwardly kind and supportive words in her shell-like did nothing at all to reassure her, but only served to remind Jade that everyone still remembered the accusation, and were still thinking about it.

It's a backhander, as in: "Of course nobody thinks your dress is hideous, I think you look lovely".
