Welcome to Thread 9 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far <spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the start of episode 9>

It’s not that. People liked Amanda and Harriet.

Did they? I thought people laughed at Amanda because she was the detective with no idea & didn't like Harriet because she seemed rude & aloof?

I'm talking about the public & posters here, not the players.

Sorry but that table is incorrect. I remember what happened.

You, and your username, are wrong.

Ah I feel vindicated! Rachel did not vote for Hugo! I feel the accusations re: not being a ‘team player’ are unfair. Stephen is lovely but he’s chucked two other traitors under the bus - no one is accusing him of ‘not being a team player’ are they?

He IS lovely though, his smile and mannerisms reminds me a bit of John Whaite who was on bake off and strictly. Love love love!

123ZYX · 17/01/2026 21:13

I think giving Jade the double vote would work. I don’t think she suspects either Rachel or Stephen, she is suspected as am traitor herself, she’s not particularly part of a group so might be more easy to influence and she isn’t “best friends” with either traitor

"Hardfaced" is not a term applied to men.

If Jade gets the dagger i hope she votes for Matthew.

I agree, there’s an extraordinary amount of sexism in the comments about Rachel. I stand by my prediction that in the end Stephen will throw her under the bus.

Men, and gay men in particular - aren’t known for sticking up for middle aged women. Or any women really. There’s nothing there for them.

ImVotingForYourself · 17/01/2026 22:10

Presumably the faithfuls will think the person with the dagger will be someone voting for a faithful that the traitors want rid of. So if you give it to Jack/James- the discussion will be that the traitors want rid of Matt, so they will skew the vote elsewhere. A safe bet might be to give it to Rachel, and she could spin the story that this means the traitors must want rid of Jade, so she could skew her vote to eg Matt.

I'm still not over 'lovely' Tom Daly on Celeb Traitors with this...

PinterandPirandello · 17/01/2026 22:20

I think Rachel and Stephen have been formidable traitors. I can’t see the faithful winning now. The only person who might have a chance of scuppering them is Matthew, especially if they recruit him.

xsquared · 17/01/2026 22:24

I hope Matt gets murdered rather than recruited. He has made to clear that he wants to join so that he can throw them under the bus and take control.

Hopefully, the traitors can see right through that.

Umbilicat · 17/01/2026 22:24

There is zero point recruiting Matthew and it’s hilarious he seems to think some kind of promise has been made to him on that score.

Edited

Yes, why would they bother recruiting him or anyone?
They are doing well on their own & there is no way three traitors would get to the end & share it, he would definitely throw one or both of them under the bus.

They didn't like Fiona coming in and upsetting the balance & I think that experience will have put them off recruitment

Him and Fry. No surprises, sadly.

Louielovecharlotte · 17/01/2026 22:35

I thought Daly likes young women so he can buy/use their eggs to have children that he doesn’t even look after…

It's interesting you say that, because I've always found that gay men often form close friendships with women.

this has been my experience too, sadly.

Wiltedgeranium · 17/01/2026 23:35

I haven't liked Rachel since the start. I reckon she'd totally screw you over in work. No middle aged woman hate here- I'm around the same age. And I'm tall!

I'm not convinced about the 'making memories' with the mum who's got dementia as a sob story either. My mum had a good (bad) 10 years of dementia. Taking her to family events was a trial enough, nevermind taking her on holiday. Just the thought of it.🙈 I have no good memories of the dementia years.

SixSevens · 18/01/2026 01:33

I feel a bit bad for Matthew. He’s such a useful idiot.

He wanted them to murder Jessie. I don't feel in the slightest bit bad for him.

I think it makes a lot of sense to recruit him. Then immediately chuck him under the bus. The faithful know that there are at least two traitors left so it makes sense to let them get one while they're still revealing if they're traitors or not at the round table. There's quite a lot of heat on Matthew at the moment so with both Rachel and Stephen's vote I think it'd be fairly easy to get him out.

Although it would be better TV to see him get his envelope and think he's being recruited only to open it and see he's being murdered 😄he's been quite smug the past few episodes

Obviously Rachel won't be a pussycat at work as head of communications. I imagine she takes no prisoners and is good at her job. For one thing, she certainly communicates very well and is influential among the contestants. I would interrogate yourself about internalised misogyny personally, as at one level you seem uncomfortable with or envious of confident and capable women.

Jumanji89 · 18/01/2026 07:31

Just caught up with Fridays episode. How was there absolutely no heat on Stephen?

Additionally, logic tells you Rachel must be a traitor. She is a big personality, always spouts a theory which results in a Faithful banishment and has "FBI training". With how dominant she is and the FBI training and lack of heat on her she would just be murdered by the traitors due to her influence. Similar to Jonathan Ross in the celebrity version.

Add in the blatant traitor v traitor situation with Fiona and Harriets argument as well It makes zero sense that she hasn't come under any scrutiny other than by Harriet

CharlotteRumpling · 18/01/2026 07:36

I really hate the dinner and each one trying to outdo the other with a sadder sob story. I don't care if they are spending the money on crack cocaine and escorts 😂 The best player should win. Not the one with the saddest story
