Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

i hope so. you would think she was drowning kittens.

She has been entertaining. Who could have predicted that response to Rachel's announcement? 😂 I would have been amazed if she'd been full of remorse. I think we've all met a Fiona or 2 and 'Je ne regrete rien' is their theme tune!

CaveMum · 14/01/2026 17:49

@helplessbanana yes I suspect a new thread will be needed mud-episode so will be on standby to hit post when we reach around the 950 post mark.

Between this thread and the 3 way conversation I have during the programme with an offspring and their partner I get a bit confused and have to rewatch episodes!

I want them to make a deal with Matthew then murder him the first chance they get!

LighthouseLED · 14/01/2026 17:59

I’ve been thinking about this too much!

It’s been announced there’s no murder “tonight” i.e. the night Harriet and Matthew get to ask questions.

Matthew wants them to turn down the opportunity to recruit, murder Jessie, and then recruit him.

But what if they get the chance to recruit tonight? Even if they want Matthew, do you think he’d accept, given Jessie hasn’t been murdered (because there is no murder)?

Auroraloves · 14/01/2026 18:08

fingers crossed clever Harriet will think of a way to get rid of Rachel tonight

The Big Thing of the week tends to carry over until there are new episodes to discuss. Fiona’s banishment and what led to it, along with her appearance on Uncloaked showing someone much the same in real life was always going to generate a thread or so. Its really unusual for someone to be as the same (in a negative way) outside the game as they are inside the game. Usually they are very different and much more likeable.

ChinFluff46 · 14/01/2026 18:11

I don't know what's harder...following Traitors or my day job. In both scenarios, never quite sure what is coming up or how people are going to respond 🤣

ChinFluff46 · 14/01/2026 18:20

I do feel tonight's episode could throw a cat among the chickens and set them all off on new directions!

Have skipped out of work and heading home to hopefully have time to make soup and get cosy on the sofa.

I think she's planning on keeping her powder dry for a while yet. If you try to get people on side about a traitor too early, she'll be thinking, it will make her look suspicious, as if she's a traitor and is deflecting from herself.
It's always a bit of a gamble though, as you may leave it too late and not take people along with you enough (or indeed take enough people along with you), like Jaz.

LighthouseLED · 14/01/2026 18:38

I hope Harriet and Rachel both stay in for a while - they’re the oldest two left in there and I always find it more interesting when there’s a range of ages rather than it being all 20 & 30-somethings (which it seems to tend to default to)

If they get to recruit tonight (and I don't see why they might not) I'd like them to recruit Jessie, then murder Matthew next opportunity.

Also what happens if Harriet makes the same request as Matthew that they recruit her!! But without the murder Jessie request - Harriet not being a big a son of a jumper-tucker as Matthew and everything.

BeaLola · 14/01/2026 18:47

So Clare Balding is on Uncloaked tonight so I'm wondering if the next banishment is a big shock where Rachel/Stephen throw a good faithful under the bus and the pack turns from their previous logical thoughts and gang together and someone obscure/not previously with heat goes ?

He’ll go tomorrow, they’ve got Linda on Grin

SwedishEdith · 14/01/2026 19:16

Could be Rachel! I'd love that. Do they match the guest a bit to the banished person? Like the Welsh previous contestants to Fiona? Is there anyone sporty or horsey in there? Or could just be Big Name v Big Name so could still be Rachel 🤞

Jade is horsey according to her instagram

The type of guests usually correlate to the type of contestant who has been eliminated.

On that theory, I don't think Stephen will go tonight because the guest would more likely to be a former traitor, hence BeaLola's speculation about a strong faithful.

hholiday · 14/01/2026 19:19

FrodoBiggins · 10/01/2026 01:42

Been thinking about how I would play it if I were Harriet, regarding the questions.
I don't think the Q&As will tell her much. But I think if she speaks to Rachel about it "in confidence" she could convince Rachel she's not on to her - she just has to say, verbatim, what she in fact asked and what the traitors said. Rachel will know she's being honest so would see this as trusting behaviour.

Matthew will have to lie or say he's not telling.
Rachel will have to make something up or say she's not telling
Harriet though can use it against Rachel and either lie to others, be cagey, or share info with those she trusts (if anyone!)

I would make up something to tell Rachel ‘in confidence’. To gain her trust and make her believe she a trusted. Then bide my time…

Was Clare Balding a strong Faithful though? Other than cocking up one of the tasks, I don’t remember her making much of an impact.

So on that basis, it might be someone like Adam, Jack or Faraaz to go as we haven’t seen as much of them

Just seen Clare is on Uncloaked tonight, hope she’s doing ok - her dad died 2 weeks ago.

Or it could be connected to how they were eliminated, like when we had Mark Bonnar because of the tied vote situation and Fozia for the face to face murder
