Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

We could always keep bumping this so @CaveMum has to start another thread before the next episode…?

I've been reading up on Marple and Poirot strategy 😂.

Marple would ask quite seemingly unimportant like who do you think is most at risk out of the faithfuls. Which would kind of be genius as it cross references with what Matthew asked.

Yes, something like asking which of the faithfuls do they think is most likely to be banished by the other faithfuls.

I wonder whether Harriet is a fan of Columbo.

LighthouseLED · 11/01/2026 22:56

Clever of him, so he can say that he only asked the first two if pressed.

I wonder if the Traitors picked up on it..

Me three @LighthouseLED @QueenOfThorns @peacefulpeach 😁

yep, keep the jokes coming, lots of us are properly enjoying them even though we can only send you hearts or flowers or whatever (so I don’t, because that would be pointless)

Jolly good idea! Must keep OP on her toes 😁

On her Facebook page she's been recommending some crime books this week and I'm thinking hmm do any of these reveal her thinking? 🤣

Yes I was thinking getting the traitors to name faithful would be the best strategy - eliminate suspects. Obviously the traitors could name themselves so you can’t be sure but it would be good food for thought. It would be risky for them to put there own names in so the skill would be trying to guess if they would do that.

So I would ask “which two faithful do you think are under the most suspicion?”. And “which two faithful do you think are playing the best game?”

NewAgeNewMe · 12/01/2026 06:48

Does anyone else think that’s Rachel’s looks like Samantha Cameron? That’s all I see and I find it a bit disconcerting.

MrsLeonFarrell · 12/01/2026 07:10

The problem with clever questions is that on no series of Traitors have more than 2 of the faithful shown the sort of logical thought processes that would make asking those sorts of questions a wise move. Anyone asking clever stuff is far more likely to be banished by faithfuls who believe being too loud/quiet or asking too many/few questions is evidence of being a Traitor.

I can see that. She reminds of an Irish current affairs presenter as well but I think it’s mostly the steely stare rather than her features.

NewAgeNewMe · 12/01/2026 07:18

It’s the smile for me. Not to long now to Wednesday 😊

LighthouseLED · 11/01/2026 21:02

Yes, but they said “cat amongst the chickens” on the show

Tough crowd!!!

But I will wear a jumper with a chicken on it (tucked in like Matthew tucks in his non-tucked jumpers of course) as a sign of appreciation.

AuntyAngela · 12/01/2026 08:00

JaneJeffer · 11/01/2026 20:18

He’s not the jumper tucker, he’s the jumper tucker’s son, etc., probably

Ooh just occurred to me - with all this jumper-tucking talk - is Stephen Matthew's son?

There are signs!

LittleBitofBread · 12/01/2026 08:11

CrossPurposes · 11/01/2026 20:31

Stephen is definitely the jumper tucker - green jumper episode 5, pink jumper episode 6. Matthew wore a roomy white jumper in 5 and a sleeveless jumper in 6 - both untucked.

Matthew has also worn tucked-in jumpers. I mentioned one on an earlier thread – an Aran-type brownish number, tucked into quite high-waisted jeans, 80s-style.

AuntyAngela · 12/01/2026 08:00

Huh?! Are they not vaguely a similar age?!

LittleBitofBread · 12/01/2026 08:17

Choux · 11/01/2026 20:31

One question that could put the cat among the pigeons would be to ask the gender mix of traitors. As there is a male and a female they may not want to tell the truth. But Rachel would want to say two males and Stephen would want to say 2 females. It could cause traitor tension. Or maybe they would assume Harriet wouldn’t believe the answer anyway and they tell the truth.

I think Harriet will play it a bit dumb to not get too far on the traitors radar. Unless she also goes bold and asks to be recruited.

They wouldn't necessarily want to 'protect' their own identity by saying the opposite sex; there's still enough people that, whatever they said, it wouldn't narrow it down helpfully enough. They could of course say there was only one traitor, or three maybe.
This is my perennial question, actually: do the faithfuls know how many traitors there are, or at least how many there were to start with? And do they always the same number? (and again do the faithfuls know this)?

Cushylife · 12/01/2026 08:28

Meh! I can't get excited over the questions drama - I think it was a bit of a shit idea from the producers. I don't see the point - the traitors can lie, their answer will contain as few words as possible and the way it's set up they can't be challenged.

KittyHigham · 12/01/2026 08:28

TheChosenTwo · 12/01/2026 08:14

Yes 32 and 35 😆

MrsMitford3 · 12/01/2026 08:32

Just thinking about the questions-of course the Traitors can lie.

But so can the faithful. Harriet could say she asked a certain question and that this is what the Traitors replied.
Except it is a lie and the only ppl who know it's a lie are the Traitors-would they react in a way that gives them away???

Or I am just over thinking it 😂

CharlotteRumpling · 12/01/2026 08:34

This question reward is like the Seer from last year. Not really a reward. Puts a target on the questioner.

KittyHigham · 12/01/2026 08:38

The thing is @Cushylife , we know that the players do respond with inordinate passion to the most extraordinary factors that they take as evidence. Take the ridiculous weight so many of them place on the views of banished or dead faithfuls 🙄
The producers know they can get plenty of discussion (on and off the programme), even with a flawed suggestion of advantages to the chosen faithfuls.
The illogical premis irritates me too, but I'm also interested to see how it plays out.

No, I agree. A bit like Rachel's ploy when she asked Ross about the turret (although she didn't do it very well); someone could ask a traitor in all innocence about something Harriet said they'd said, and if Harriet had made it up they might give a nonsensical answer, which would throw suspicion on them.

FloridaCheese · 12/01/2026 09:07

Maybe Harriet will ask, what did Rachel and Matthew ask

needmorebooks · 12/01/2026 09:08

Could Rachel say to the others (in her mirror challenge team) that the question she asked the traitors was “who will be murdered next?” and they said “Matthew” just to stir it up a bit 😁
