The conversation between Rachel and Sam was between two people who know each other well. One of them said ‘I’ve not had much of a chance to talk to you today’ and it sounded like the way you might speak to a great work friend on a busy day and you’ve both made it to the staff room. In fact I thought that Sam was Stephen and it was two traitors talking.

I think those two are related as they look quite alike.
I said brother and sister earlier, and people pointed out their different accents, but I think they could be half-siblings. There's an 8 year age gap. Or cousins.

banano · 02/01/2026 23:50

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam and Rachel were work colleagues- both in corporate office type jobs (sales/ comms). Not sure if there’s ever been co-workers on previous series.

I’ve not seen that yet but they have a point! I commented to my husband on I’m a celebrity this year that it’s always a black person out first when Alex (I think that was her name) was voted off. I’m white and notice this - I can’t imagine how disheartening it must be for a non white person to take part in one of these shows thinking it’s very unlikely you’ll get very far because of how voting will go with your skin colour.

Yes - it’s always minorities which are visibly different . Nettie didn’t have a chance with being female, black and a visible disability. I don’t think it’s conscious but think it shows how unconscious biases kick into herd mentality.

I am positive that Amanda and Hugo know each other.

I got that vibe as well.

I don't think that Sam and Rachel have a connection. I think they probably were just talking the previous day. He's only worked in England and she has worked for the same firm in NI for most of her career. Unless of course she is a client.

I think with Nettie it was the connection with Ross that got her murdered. I’m not sure about Judy though.

Sending condolences for your loss @CaveMum.

Is anyone else getting irritated by the weird heavy breathing on the soundtrack, or is it just me?

Yes same - sounds like a woman gasping. Weird and annoying!!

Alpacajigsaw · 03/01/2026 00:31

Just saw something on fb I never thought of before. Could the secret traitor also be one of the known traitors and it’s a bluff on the traitors themselves too?

AlwaysRightISwear · 03/01/2026 00:33

I still think the ST is one of the older women, but I did find Sam's general demeanour a bit suspicious this ep.

WriterOfWrongs · 03/01/2026 00:33

WonderfulSmith · 03/01/2026 00:03

I think with Nettie it was the connection with Ross that got her murdered. I’m not sure about Judy though.

Remember also @Asianbrit that the 3 traitors didn't pick Netty out of the remaining 19 other contestants.

The people who could be eliminated out of the total 22 were whittled down to 10 by the coffin game.

Out of that 10, the Secret Traitor chose 3 (as Rachel was one of those 10 but is a traitor, the ST couldn't choose her so had a pool of 9 to select from).

The Normal Traitors then chose Netty out of those 3 but it seemed like if it had been up to them, they'd not selected her as being up for murdering at all. Same with the other two, one of which was a brown man.

Oneforallandallforone · 03/01/2026 00:38

I'm puzzled about their clothes.
Yesterday it looked really nice weather.
Today the contestants wore shorts and tshirts (I know they were getting ready for a physical trial). Meanwhile Claudia wore a long winter coat and gloves. Now I know a HUGE number of people watch this prog. for Claudia's clothes as much as anything else (I count myself as one of them). Usually they are all standing around in coats.
What time of year is it filmed?

Its too hard to say who might be the ST as its being edited so we can't see everything that might give us clues. I much prefer their being one though!

xsquared · 02/01/2026 23:07

That one has been addressed many times. The breakfast scene is not done in order they come in, and they film various combinations of it.

There's an article called Bwhond the scenes secrets of The Traitors or something like that, which has a lot of answered FAQs.

But surely you can tell who is coming in last, regardless of editing, as the rest are sitting at the table.

Oneforallandallforone · 03/01/2026 00:48

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 02/01/2026 22:43

One thing I don't understand is why the traitors have instantly turned against the ST rather than trying to work with them, at least to begin with... I think if I was ST I'd be trying to help the traitors as much as possible, and if I were a traitor I'd be trying to work out the ST's gameplan and go along with it.

They want to choose the person to be murdered themselves.

If they can get rid of the ST, they have the power back to manipulate the faithfuls by spreading misinformation and throwing out one name to various cliques. Its how they have always operated.

Now there is a ST, there is no point in them doing this because they they are handed three entirely different names to choose from.

It makes watching how the traitors operate (or stand by helplessly) far more interesting. They have no power.

Its a great spin on what was getting to be a predictable show.

EllaMozarella · 03/01/2026 00:48

Absolutely loving the new series.

Roxy is the ST.

Are Reece/Adam/Matthew the same person? 😂

Hugo is going to start getting on players’ tits soon. Especially Rachel & Stephen’s.

Fiona is marvellous.

Major lack of ‘I’m voting for yourself’ & badly spelled names (difficult to Mis-spell Judy though)

Can’t wait for tomorrow 7:45 🏰

Judging by the local trees & plantlife I reckon late May, which would mean it was filmed after the celeb version.

Thank you.
That would make sense as its so bright when they are outside.

Sinead McKeefry must be sticking to the clothes that have made so many of us fall in love with Claudia's style.

The handwriting question came up on Uncloaked and we were given a nice long shot of the first murder shortlist, with James, Nettie, and Maz.

There are basically three ways to write the J in James. (1) without a bar on top, (2) with a bar in the middle of the stem, or (3) with a bar on the left of the stem (like a 7). Maybe the ST is disguising their handwriting, but I think it would be quite an effort to think to change how you write a relatively uncommon uppercase letter.

On the murder shortlist, the J in James has a bar in the middle of the stem.

I went through the votes from episode 2, where almost everyone voted for a J (16 for Judy, 1 for Jade, 1 for James) and checked out the Js among the people who we do not already know to be traitors or faithful. Here are the results:

Adam, Fiona, Harriet, Jade, Ross: No bar
Roxy: Bar on the left.
Sam, Amanda, Ellie, Faraaz, Jessie, Matthew: Bar in the middle.
Jack: We didn't get to see his board! Dun-dun-dun...

However, none of the Js with a bar looked anything like the one in the murder list. Roxy's wrote the letters of "James" joined up, which is the closest match to the murder list that I saw. I am also inclined to discount Sam because his writing on the board was pretty terrible.

So I will go to bed overthinking between the following possibilities:

  • The ST is disguising their handwriting very well indeed; or
  • The murder shortlist is written by a member of the production staff (maybe even Claudia); or
  • The producers realised that Jack's handwriting would be a giveaway, and edited out his board; or
  • I've messed up somewhere, or missed something entirely.
I will be watching Jack's board very closely at the next round table!

But surely you can tell who is coming in last, regardless of editing, as the rest are sitting at the table.

They film several combinations of individuals, some with traitor(s), and some just faithfuls before it is put together on air.

A bit like filming several endings to a key episode in a soap series to keep even the cast in suspense iyswim?

patooties · 03/01/2026 01:08

I think our ST is a POC. So it’s not Ross , or the guy with 5 kids whose name has gone - I think one of his kids is in there so that rules him out from the young Asian lad. On that basis I’m going for Roxy as ST or that really dim older Welsh woman.

Daytimetellyqueen · 03/01/2026 01:29

Checking in, thanks for the thread!

RessicaJabbit · 03/01/2026 01:36

Beekeepersmum · 02/01/2026 23:28

I’m not sure if someone has already said this, but surely all four traitors won’t be white?

I think Faraaz or Roxy for ST based on Claudia’s position when she tapped someone on the shoulder (looking at the background).

AHH come in they could easily filmed her picking everyone. And then do it again for the final 4, so they have any kind of reaction shots /fake shoulder press they need.

There's a shit ton of editing going in to lead us to false conclusions.... See Judy reacting ala Linda at the word traitors etc so much suspicion on people as ST at their chair talks etc as they can use any footage at any point. They could use day 7 video on Day 1 or anything!

ItstoolateformeDaveyourselves · 03/01/2026 02:57

Thanks for the new thread @CaveMum I voted yesterday (and thanks for the thumbs up that I am in the vote). Thanks for all of this, especially with your recent news, and sorry you have had that; I know how these things feel but I won't dwell, I just didn't want to ignore it.

On this topic, I still believe Roxie is the ST (haven't watched uncloaked yet). I think her mum has gone earlier than she would have liked, but she used her going against the crowd vote wisely. Then she over-hammed up the reaction (of a natural slight upset) versus the "what are we doing, need to do better, this proves I'm A Faithful" a little too high for me.

However I think it will work in her favour for those experiencing it at the table for a little longer, but wonder if the visible traitors will notice anything from it?

However as others have said, by format, we will know who the ST is by next week. So hopefully not a long drawn out tally for you to keep. 😊.

ST had a pool of 9 or 8, depending on whether ST themselves had a coffin

FrodoBiggins · 03/01/2026 05:42

HT to @Strikeback who mentioned this on the old thread - I caught it too, Ross said something about "the dark part" during the cut out scenes at breakfast. I couldn't sleep (not because of that 😂) so went back to watch that bit and thought I'd share my findings with yourselves.

He says:
"I was honestly a bit relieved because the fact that I knew Nettie was something for people to grasp at, and so that was a liability for me. Plus, the darker part - I'm keeping a secret. So it's honestly like a huge weight off my shoulders"

Or the ST voted for another person.
