It's all happening in the street!

Todd continues to be abused and manipulated by nasty Theo.

Carla is being kept hostage by evil Undead Becky the Bay City Roller! Lisa (Swain) is pining for Carla who she thinks has gone away on holiday, (but Lisa still did the deed with Undead Becky!) Hmm

Nasty Ma Driscoll has been turfed out of The Rovers Return by her son Ben, after her horrible Christmas day stunt of revealing to everyone that Eva has had an abortion.

Will Driscoll is jealous of Daniel 'dating' his attractive older woman (well, she's around 28, but is still older compared to him as he is still at school! And to make things worse she is his sports coach!)

Costello has been beaten up and is still in hospital.

Tall Kit and Sarah Platt are still an item.

Shona is not far off having hers and David Platt's baby.

DeeDee's left the show after conveniently being offered a high flying lawyer job in Singapore!

Carl, the Chuckle Brother has been getting down and dirty with James Bailey (again!) whilst Abi is totally oblivious. She is also oblivious to the fact that Carl is trying to find a way to move away from her (abroad) even though Abi has left Kevin for him (and took her son too!) Some may say it serves her right! 😬

Evelyn has come back again - hopefully for good this time!

I have probably missed some stuff! But we can catch up later! :)

DS thinks they should do a Corrie/Benidorm mash up. The corrie lot can book a group stay at the Solana. Of course the Solana staff will notice that George looks awfully like Kenneth the hairdresser who will conveniently be elsewhere that week. There'll be some story about them being identical twins who have never mentioned each other/long lost didnt know the other existed type thing.

Gingercar · 06/01/2026 10:38

Yes it probably was. What happened to her wheelie? Was it in Kevin’s car? Surely Carl will be easily found out? Kevin and Abi knew, and she is so tiny she wouldn’t be able to reach Carl’s pedals. And everyone in the hotel was at the window watching him drive off! Plus the cctv!

That is a good point, the driving seat would be in completely the wrong position for Debbie to have driven. Their car didn't go up in flames did it?

AmusedMaker · 06/01/2026 11:10

Another one who’ll really miss Billy.
I can think of at least 4 ( really boring/ irritating ) characters they should have got rid of before him.

I’m also warming to Summer. So sensible & kind.

zanahoria · 06/01/2026 11:25

Tracy went to jail for life after she killed Charlie then they let her out again

Unless the front end got squashed in, but I don’t think it was that bad if they both walked out?

Why did nobody notice Billy was still trapped for ages? And only Theo go back? Was everyone else tied up with injuries? Cassie and Steve were sitting around quite laid back.

Ooh, yes. This is a great idea! And of course both Sherrie Hewson and Denise Welch used to be in Corrie.

Gingercar · 06/01/2026 11:39

God, don’t give them ideas! One mash up was entirely enough.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 06/01/2026 11:43

I guess Theo will be regaled as a ‘hero’ when they return home for trying to help Billy (not knowing he actually killed him!). Todd will find it harder to leave him.

Still wondering what the connection between the tattoos on Shona / Emmerdale character are and also if Kevin tampered with Carls equipment in hospital.

eggandonion · 06/01/2026 11:52

Maybe having to look after Summer will help Todd escape?

NebulousSadTimes · 06/01/2026 12:05

I enjoyed it. I decided to give my eye rolls the night off, apart from when that bastard Theo actor appeared on the afterwards programme. It was nice to see the actors being themselves but not him 😡

Aaron was just a youngster, coming to the realisation or admitting that he was gay, when I watched Emmerdale before. Moira used to be in Take The High Road. Cain was once awarded most handsome soap actor or something along those lines. That surprised me.

It was interesting to hear Billy's natural accent in the afterwards programme. I loved that he answered the what's next questions with "Only Fans" 😂. Bless.

I thought the little get together of Chris Chittell and William Roache in the pub came over as ever so slightly awkward.

eggandonion · 06/01/2026 12:52

I loved Take the High Road.

NebulousSadTimes · 06/01/2026 13:03

Me too @eggandonion , those were the days 😍

eggandonion · 06/01/2026 13:06

Inverdaroch...Miss Fiona...Davy Sneddon...Effi. the shop.
Fabulous.

Yep. Kirk for a start. Pointless character who should have been axed many years ago. Also Mary has gone past her sellby date as a character and is just plain silly and annoying now. Becky is annoying too, and so is Theo, but I would like to see them brought to justice/punished for their misdemeanours first.

I agree with all your choices there @SabreIsMyFave Kirk and Mary are so long past their sell-by.

I think the most satisfying end to the Theo storyline would be Todd finding the courage to stand up to him, walk out, and take the (original) video to the police. It was lovely to see Billy helping him, but if he does it for himself that would be a triumph (and Billy would be so proud 😢 )

TheHillIsMine · 06/01/2026 14:17

To defend the writers, if I'd been kidnapped then got out to come across all this as well as having it deal with undead Becky, I think I'd refuse to go to hospital and the adrenaline would see me through.

zanahoria · 06/01/2026 14:32

I hate all the tedious 'Kirk is stupid' jokes

He was never the sharpest knife in the drawer but initially was a bit more of a rounded character who could hold an actual conversation. It's been years since he spoke to his own sister.

It has got to the point where it feels like the actor has given up and is happy to plod along. Hard to blame him, even if he goes he will have years of panto doing the 'Kirk from Corrie' routine.

I agree about Todd. I think Summer will motivate him to find the courage to go to the police. He’s not going to want her to lose her last remaining Dad.

zanahoria · 06/01/2026 15:00

Although if Todd marries Theo then Summer gets a new dad

NorfolkandBad · 06/01/2026 15:57

After the ending with John lying there I'm putting a £5 on him being the Emmerdale Undead

timetogetlost · 06/01/2026 16:15

I think Billy put a nail in his own coffin when he said 'there is some good in you, Theo'. Why didn't he just say thanks?

the80sweregreat · 06/01/2026 16:17

Theo is evil, I hope the writers have a bad ending for him at some stage, but I can see Todd actually marrying him thinking that he tried to save Billy ..

It is Billy - judgemental to the end

They did a 'car crash driver swap' in EastEnders several years ago, where the driver Janine (baddy) made it look as if Linda (goody, but had been drinking) was driving. It took quite a while for her to be found out.

I'm sure Corriedale worked better if you watch both soaps, but I haven’t watched Emmerdale for several years. On the Corrie side for me it was an overblown stunt with too many storylines packed into it, but only one death (and not the right one!) Poor old Billy. The Becky sideshow should have been kept out of it.

Carla had been in that container for a week but had not had a wee? She just looked slightly disheveled and after a sip of water was good to go.

But she has been held hostage three times now so is used to the routine

the80sweregreat · 06/01/2026 16:45

It’s not on ITV X today , is it being held back all week on there?
