I’d be very happy with LV - quick witted, sparky, funny, kind, glamorous, ticks all the boxes for me.

I’d love Miranda somewhere but I’m not sure if she’s done live presenting before? Some pre filmed bits would be great maybe.

No to Paddy.

Zoe - obviously fabulous.

I really really hope Claudia hasn’t made a mistake in leaving….

I’m disappointed to lose Karen. I think she was really poorly served in terms of partners and wardrobe - she has had very few contenders over the years and some of the worst allocations for the endless “theme” weeks. If she isn’t going to be a pro any more I’d like to have seen her still involved in the show in some way. She must also be one of the fittest dancers on the show since Flavia. I have seen reports that the Beeb “aged” her out but no idea what is the reality.

Anjo2011 · 22/03/2026 11:27

Following on to my earlier post I have just read in The Sun ( I accept that’s not a great source) that Janette and Fleur ‘may’ be repurposed elsewhere. I hope they are not moved to the main show. Also is it possible that Anton could move to be a main host. Again, I hope not.

Lone voice in the MN wilderness here who thinks LV would actually be good! Very quick, sharp witted and confident. I think the core Strictly audience is fine with LV judging by the voting.

I'd prefer LV to many other people. Personally, I find Miranda a bit irritating. Sarah Hadland has had a bit of exposure recently. Miranda and Sarah together might work. I also wondered about Mel Giedroyc.

I suspect the truth is that Claudia is irreplaceable. She was a one off.

But he has no experience of live presenting on a massive show, I cannot see the Beeb risking their biggest light entertainment show on untested presenters.

In one of earlier threads I said I could see him in the Janette type role teamed with a dancer, but I’d really like to see him do that as Chris. He gave several interviews when he joined SCD that he wanted to use it to expand his scope and audience as Chris and yet he was firmly pigeon holed as his drag character.

I think its hard to assess the broader public reaction when voting is so subject to lobbying and editing. The Beeb had the LV character doing little cameos every week and so he had a lot more friendly exposure than most of the other celebs. There is also all the usual lobbying online which keeps the ubiquitous former footballer/rugby player/cricketer or the young YouTuber in beyond their expiry date. The same lobbying online (in my algorithms at least) was trying to make LV’s continuity in the show a vote on anything but the dancing. I don’t think this lobbying makes a contestant win but it does give them time to improve and find their potential at the expense of better early competitors without the fan base. I think the Beeb would be unlikely to base any presenting choices on the votes in one series.

Could La Voix be a host as himself not in costume. Surely has the same sense of humour, doesn’t need to be a caricature of a woman to be funny. Did dance training as himself, only on the live show did he dress up. So not like he is permanently La Voix

Paul O’Grady was great as himself

I can’t see Anton as a key live presenter - he doesn’t have the experience. Again someone who might appear on edited formats related to the show.

I think a lot of the press reports under estimate just how difficult the live presenting role is (which is a testament to Tess for making it look easy). Plus of course any job done by women can’t be that tricky can it? 😅The pool of possibles is relatively small if they are to have some solid live presenting experience.

AlwaysRightISwear · 22/03/2026 11:32

LaV would be fine on ITT but too much on the main show.

When I read the interviews with him early on that was precisely what he seemed to be wanting out of the experience. It would need to be the edited formats rather than the live format but as Chris I could see him on the spin off shows.

tennissquare · 22/03/2026 11:36

Janette and Fleur are 2 of the most wooden presenters on tv and the ratings on IT2 have dived in the last 2 years so I don’t think they are going anywhere near Sat night entertainment. Janette went to the Hadestown press night on Friday and I wonder if she is hoping to get into musical theatre in the west end. Im sure the Sat night show will go to a combination of Zoe/Emma Wills/ Angela Scanlon / Rylan.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 22/03/2026 11:39

I like Rylan, but he comes off as a bit……bored? A kind of ‘interview this person for three minutes, play a record, read this, another record’ bang it out then go home.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/03/2026 14:03

I also wouldn't mind LV presenting, but only if he ditched the womanface and appeared as himself.

He's actually a pretty good singer and he is quick-witted and intelligent.

But I really doubt if he'd be willing to do that.

Indigovelvet · 22/03/2026 14:20

La Voix is my favourite. Got natural humour. Cuts through tension nicely.

TennisWithDeborah · 23/03/2026 10:50

I think that Chris (not as LV) has the wit and intellect for a role of some sort.

Tess was adept at making a tough job look easy. I think they her replacement needs to be an efficient type who’s very experienced in live presenting, whether it was in tv or radio.

I would like Liza Tarbick in the clauditorium but she no longer wants to work weekends, she explained that when she quit Radio 2. Rylan would be very good. Mel G too. Maybe Ruth Jones, who’s very quick-witted although devoid of live tv experience.

I think that Paddy would be a risky choice from the reactions the rumours are generating online. I don’t know much about him tbh.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 24/03/2026 05:25

Paddy McGuiness is just a red herring. I hope the same re Bradley Walsh. Zoe probably wishful thinking on our/the public’s part. Can’t see Miranda Hart or Emma Willis in the role, but I’d be happy with a combination of Alex Scott, Angela Scanlon, Rylan, Mel G.

nomdegrrr1 · 24/03/2026 06:57

I think Alex Scott could be good, as she's used to live tv, but her weekends are already full.

threesocksmorgan · 24/03/2026 07:09

oh please not Alex Scott. she is dreadful.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 24/03/2026 07:20

oh please not Alex Scott. she is dreadful.

Is she? Why?

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 24/03/2026 07:20

Oh hang on, I’m muddling her up with the Alex on the one show…

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 24/03/2026 07:21

… although I liked Alex Scott as a contestant on Strictly

Umbilicat · 24/03/2026 09:49

Mel G would be fab. Rylan would be good too. Can't bear Angela Scanlon, don't think Emma W is sharp enough. Alex Scott works a lot already on weekends!

TennisWithDeborah · 24/03/2026 15:53

That’s the thing with sports presenters (I also like Gabby, Sonya, Jason Mohammad and a few others ) - they’re already busy on Saturdays.

Gabby, Sonya and Jason haven’t been mooted btw, they’re just examples of people with “live” experience and a bit of ooomph.

bizzey · 24/03/2026 15:55

Has Claire Balding been mentioned ?

Anjo2011 · 24/03/2026 16:24

Jane McDonald would be a great host.

Also often busy at weekends!😀

AlwaysRightISwear · 24/03/2026 19:32

Mel and Sue reunited could be a possible choice.
