Thank you!

Stigsmother · 20/12/2025 21:21

Thank you Eine 😊

ilovesooty · 20/12/2025 21:22

Thank you. I wanted Lewis and Katya to win, but failing that, I'm delighted to see Karen and Carlos win.

Silverbirchleaf · 20/12/2025 21:23

I expected a bigger tribute to Tess and Claude. I know it was the Strictly final and all that, but Len got a lovely, traditional group dance , or was that on the Christmas show (which I guess is pre recorded). The letter and montage was lovely, but I expected a bigger segment.

TeaandHobnobs · 20/12/2025 21:26

@Silverbirchleaf I think it was mentioned on the Christmas telly review on the news this morning that there is some extra Strictly special over the festive period (not the Christmas special), which I reckon is going to be a tribute to them

xsquared · 20/12/2025 21:35

Thanks again @EineReiseDurchDieZeit for setting the threads up.

Well, I think Karen deserved the win. Wasn't keen on her show dance but she was brilliant with the AT and jive.

Everybody seems so genuinely pleased for her victory. I know she said she was lost for words, but the way Carlos went on, you'd have thought he was the sole winner!

LaudElpus · 20/12/2025 21:37

Amber looked a bit left out of the hugging melee going on afterwards

TitsInAbsentia · 20/12/2025 21:39

I think Amber and George will be fine going forward, we have to remember that you don't always need to win for future success, although obviously the win would be a wonderful reward for the weeks of hard work (along with the pay packet!)

Bougainsillier · 20/12/2025 21:48

I really didn’t warm to Amber and didn’t want her to win, but I did feel a bit sad for her tonight. She was obviously the best dancer, so knew it was because she wasn’t popular and that must’ve felt uncomfortable. Yes she agreed to appear knowing she was a ringer, but I still feel for her a little.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 20/12/2025 21:57

Strictly over for another year :(
Tomorrow afternoon after work I’ll sit down and watch tonight’s show all over again :)

She did seem genuinely pleased to have gone through the whole experience, and looked much more comfortable and relaxed, including waiting for the winner's announcement.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 20/12/2025 22:02

It made me laugh that right at the very end when they'd announced Karen had won, Tess managed to get in 'Ah, look at your little face' 🤣🤣

BogRollBOGOF · 20/12/2025 22:03

Those middle-aged men did a great job of sounding like 5ive Grin

Took me back to my student days a couple of years ago around the Millennium.

firsttimesolotraveller16 · 20/12/2025 22:08

The wrong person won. Absolutely gutted for both amber and George who deserved it more.

autumngirl714 · 20/12/2025 22:14

I didn’t really enjoy tonight which I’m disappointed about.
I wasn’t blown away by George or Karen, and I’m still disappointed that Lewis wasn’t in the final.
I love strictly and I’ll always watch it, but I enjoyed this final the least out of any others I’ve watched!

m00rfarm · 20/12/2025 22:20

I thought George was the winner tonight. He was the only complete novice (I did some research into karen earlier into some stuff written in 2017 about her dancing experience and how it carried over to football) and being the man, had to lead in the dances as well as do the lifts. He was brilliant tonight. Better than Karen. Amber was not as good as I had been expecting. her show dance should have been much better than it was. Not her fault, but like Lewis, it was the wrong dance.

Buscobel · 20/12/2025 22:35

Disappointing.

I haven’t enjoyed this year, despite the judges trying to big it up.

Next series will be very different.

Hollieandtheivie · 20/12/2025 22:35

Absolutely loved 5ive on there tonight, but they did look like five blokes who'd gone for a pint, some how ended up in the Strictly studio, put into boy band outfits, and asked to put something together quickly. 😆One of them in particular had a great voice. Was it Sean?

Also, would have loved Lewis to win it. Happy that Karen did. Was funny that Carlos was saying how he'd learned how to be humble from Karen, but did seem to make it about himself. We've all got our quirks 😆

I liked Amber's comments about learning skills that will help her career, and thd judges comments that she'll be headlining in Broadway. Its acknowledging that she was already talented and skilled, but there's room for progression.

GuiltyPleasure · 21/12/2025 00:23

Of the 3, I voted for George because he was the true “journey” contestant out of them. He was a complete novice who ended up as a good dancer.
Never warmed to Amber, but I felt a smidgeon of empathy for her tonight. She knew she never had a chance with the public vote, which somehow made her more relaxed & likeable & good on her for giving it everything.
My main problem with Karen, although she seems absolutely lovely, was that she was essentially a one trick pony, great in stuff at 100 mph, but not the best all rounder & also managed to to escape accusations of being a ringer, when she was. Also I don’t really take to Carlos, he always made it about him IMO JoJo is the same) it felt like she was supporting him on his “journey” most weeks.
However it was a fair result, but I’m probably still bitter, feeling deprived of Lewis and Katya, who I think had so much more to give & would have done the most joyous show dance

Agreed, I wanted George in Lewis' absence - that class of 2025 dance really made me think "look what you could have had!". His show dance would have been spectacular and we were robbed of seeing the Halloween couples choice again (as if I haven't re-watched it many time anyway...)

George has shown massive improvement. His paso was great and his ballroom has really come on. I felt like they wanted Karen to win though. Her Argentine tango was very good but she does feel like a one trick pony (for someone who does have prior experience!)

firstofallimadelight · 21/12/2025 07:38

I wanted George to win (and thought he would) But they all did well and each had a stand out dance that night (Ambers jive, George show dance and Karen’s jive)
it was emotional with it being Tess and Clauds last night. Tess looked really emotional all night.
Lewis cc was the dance of the series .

Freysimo · 21/12/2025 07:39

Karen's AT was brilliant but that's about it for me. She was terrible at ballroom and only did a couple I think. I genuinely thought George's show dance had won it for him and voting must have been very close. I'd love to know.

washingfrenzy · 21/12/2025 07:44

The whole series just lost its sparkle this year. I am glad Karen won and I did vote for her. It was good to see Amber so relaxed waiting on the results, obviously knowing she wouldn’t win.

Next year will be different and rightly so, the format does need refreshed and I sincerely hope the BBC stop this nonsense with the prerecorded Sunday show.

The right person won, as they'll have counted the votes and she'll have had the most.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 21/12/2025 07:48

Karen’s the only one I consistently voted for from the start, 2-4 votes every week, but much as I enjoyed watching her, I also think she was a bit of a one trick pony; brilliant at what she was brilliant at from day 1, whereas George changed and grew into the various styles of dance. I gave more of my votes to him last night and would’ve liked him to win.
