BBC has confirmed Karen’s departure now

thats a shame, Karen was always my favourite.

Karen is framing it as her choice but who knows what the truth is… She was clearly bored for the last few years

I’m not convinced it was completely her choice. If it was I think the BBC would have said so in its statement to quiet the ‘axe’ rumours. Also they have only officially confirmed Karen’s departure (maybe pushed due to her video), and not confirmed the other rumours (yet).

Is karen the only one to have done a goodbye and thank you video ?

Paddy Mcguiness' name has cropped up as a possible new presenter. I can imagine there'll be dissent in the ranks if that happens.

I will definitely stop watching if he has anything to do with the show

Zoe Ball downstairs would be a real change of pace. I liked Tess but she was very 'straight' and bland. Zoe is a lot more 'out there'. She likes a cheeky innuendo and is much more of a character. She'd end up being sassy with Shirley and they'd clash.

There are now reports that Fleur and Janette have been axed. If it’s true it seems there will be some very drastic changes this year.

Let's hope they planted the Paddy McGuinness rumour purely to soften us up to be more accepting of whoever eventually gets the job. Bit like the existence of Restore Britain making Reform seem more palatable.

I think ITT is important. It's part of the PR juggernaut that stops Strictly flagging in the public consciousness for the four months the show is on and has helped it become a national institution and an annual event in a way that other celeb shows or other versions of Strictly haven't quite managed. I used to watch it religiously back in the days of Claudia, Zoe, Dylan, Karen Hardy and Ian Waite but recently it has become dire. Total revamp needed. Proper presenters who can handle live television and who can get a good story out of an interviewee are needed.

I think Miranda Hart would be great downstairs. She has said in the past that she would love to do it.

Lone voice in the MN wilderness here who thinks LV would actually be good! Very quick, sharp witted and confident. I think the core Strictly audience is fine with LV judging by the voting.

I'd prefer LV to many other people. Personally, I find Miranda a bit irritating. Sarah Hadland has had a bit of exposure recently. Miranda and Sarah together might work. I also wondered about Mel Giedroyc.

I suspect the truth is that Claudia is irreplaceable.She was a one off.

I hope the rumour about Fleur and Janette is true. They both come across as lovely people, but they are very poor presenters. Fleur especially.
For the main show I think Zoe Ball presenting and Mel Giedroyc upstairs would be ideal.

I haven’t seen the Janette and Fleur rumours but agree they are no loss. I guess the BBC have decided to go all out to refresh the programme and try and rid the show of its past bad press. In for a penny and all that. It’s risky of course but as much as I am sorry to see some of the pros leave I do think it needs something new. Whatever happens the majority will hate it to begin with it and then get caught up in the glitz and glam. It’s great Saturday night TV imo. Will be very interested to see who the new presenters are.
