Call the midwife

The Christmas special of call the midwife is on bbc 1 in 2 parts again. The first part is on at 20:15 on Christmas day and the second part is on at 20:30 on boxing day. I am not a fan of the Christmas special been in 2 parts. I wonder how doctor Turner and his simpering wife will save the world.

It has got a lot worse. I have started zoning out when he speaks. I feel though Sheela just simpers but i liked her when she was a nun.

It drives me nuts too.

She made a brief appearance in Vera too. She played Maggie in series 2. I remember that the title of the episode was a certain samariton. It was either the second or third episode of series 2.

Sheela is getting on my nerves already.

I had that copy of the Elves and the Shoemaker. I think it might still be in my house somewhere actually. I read it to my own dc.

Rabies! I had forgotten about that hysteria in the 70s.

So did I but the last few episodes her voice has really started grating on me! Maybe I’m just being a grumpy cow 🙂🙂

The young people are entertaining though now they are in the 70s. Love the smoking bunny and the returning backpacker who could blend in perfectly with today's backpackers.

Rabies was awful for scares.

It was one of the arguments against the Channel Tunnel - all the rabid foxes making their way through.

To be fair your chances are still rather grim if you get rabies so I would be pretty paranoid about rabid dogs.

To defend Dr Turner there... I think the Police surgeon was probably the best qualified person over a normal police constable.

Where he finds time for everything is another question.
