They won't kill anyone imo. It will be some sort of time reset storyline. And love is what will win the battle like in A Wrinkle In Time. Also too many references to Back to the Future for time travel not to be involved.

Saving the finale for tomorrow afternoon.

I'm rather worried for Steve.

I have found MBB's acting quite wooden too but don't think it's helped by the El/Hopper/Kali storyline being a bit dull. FWIW I don't really rate Kali's acting either. I liked episode 5 & 6 but 7 dragged a bit. I don't know whether it was wise as we saved it so it felt a bit anti-climatic.

There's been a lot of speculation on line about whether there's a "good" part of Henry left that will come to the fore in the final episode and join forces with 11 and 8 to fight the Mind Flayer but I don't feel like this has been hinted at.

Lots of back to the future references to do wondering if we'll get a flashback to Joyce's play in the 60s.

I dislike the character of kali so much I’m starting to wonder is she actually the real villain. She gives me the creeps a lot more than Vecna!

Also I've never picked up any gay vibes from Mike. He was basically obsessed with El from the start. They won't do it. But if they did I'd be ragin. Because it doesn't make any sense. It was never about Mike with Will. It was accepting himself. He's just the Tammy. Nothing more.

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:24

I think Kali is up to something

Nothanksnotnow · 31/12/2025 18:25

I wondered if the blood taking by dr Kay was real then does she know that the blood of 8 would create stronger children than that of 1 or 11s? But she was keeping her contained for a reason ?

Not just ‘hardcore, wierdo superfans’ who interpret Mike as not being straight, and that interpretation is based on the portrayal from the start and throughout.

What indicates Mike is gay? I've recently rewatched all of it and can not see any indication.

If as a pp said a rainbow on a piece of paper is indicative then all the people in the rainbow room must also be gay.

Nothanksnotnow · 31/12/2025 18:28

Also did I somehow miss how 8/kali wasn’t killed by Henry when he slaughtered all the others ? Perhaps I wasn’t paying attention or missed something but when did she get away? Did he know one of them was a threat (he clearly knew it wasn’t 11?)

Exactly, and just a Tammy is such an important part - Robin and Will both learned to accept and embrace themselves.

Do we know if what Kali said was true?

That’s what I mean by if it was real, assuming it was then perhaps that’s the reason why. I just feel it may be the explanation as to why he killed them all did he know one was a threat but not which one ?

Nothanksnotnow · 31/12/2025 18:33

It’s just she is such an unlikeable character but I’m starting to think is it deliberate , hidden in plain sight maybe ?

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:37

She’s too kind and willing to help & didn’t like her plot for them to stay & die plus the fact Hopper voiced his concerns felt to me it was a “watch out” but i am a cynic!

Oooh.

Kali is the Hindu Goddess of Time, Death and Destruction, but is usually (I believe) seen as good.

DallasMajor · 31/12/2025 18:42

Rewatching, I don't like Joyce, always willing to put other people at risk to save her son but not willing to put her son at risk to others.

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:43

i thought she was putting him at risk by letting him connect to the hive mind.

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:45

I do forget that Jonathan is Wills brother though as Joyce doesn’t seem that concerned with Jonathan!

MadisonMarieParksValetta · 31/12/2025 18:47

Also trying to figure out where the Mind Flayer comes into all this. I think he is the big baddie. Not Vecna as we are lead to believe. I wouldn't be surprised if Vecna did a Darth Vader and suddenly had empathy.

Oh I didn’t know that now I feel like she’s definitely the real villain. Maybe somehow she’s using that persona as an illusion in itself , usually good but actually she’s not!

Agree that the Mindflayer is the big bad, and Henry his first victim.

I’m wondering if when Henry was able to shape the mindflayer was some kind of illusion to make him feel powerful . Ive convinced myself I think that Kali is at the centre of it all 😂

Loopytiles · 31/12/2025 18:52

Yes, some issues with Joyce’s parenting of Jonathan!

I think the mind flayer will appear, but that they will keep its appearance brief / spectacular because it’s too nebulous to sustain much drama. I would prefer to see Henry / Vecna be out and out evil to the end than to have any redemption.

quite liked the episode with Kali and feel sorry for her, now, but if her theory was correct Will, the 12 DC kidnapped by Vecna and the pregnant women and unborn DC would also all have to die for the world to be ‘free’.

Yes 100%. Vecna may get a remedtion arc but he will still die. At the end of day Henry just stumbled into the wrong cave.

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:59

Where is the mindflayer?

x12 · 31/12/2025 18:59

Where is the mindflayer?

This is what I wondered. I did notice they always seemed to have a part of it contained where there were hive mind members eg the Russian prison. Was there one in the lab where Kali was held ? Did they extract it from her to take her out of the hive mind so she couldn’t be found ?

edited to add it wasn’t mindflayer particles it was one of the vine things in dr Kay’s lab so I’ll get that theory out of my mind !

What indicates Mike is gay? I've recently rewatched all of it and can not see any indication.

If as a pp said a rainbow on a piece of paper is indicative then all the people in the rainbow room must also be gay.

Here's some of the "best examples" of the alleged queer coding.

They broadly rely on:

  • ignoring relevant context (e.g. that Mike is pining for Eleven at the Snow Ball);

  • reading deep male friendships as "gay"; and

  • picking out blink-and-you'll-miss-it background details and insisting they are important vital easter eggs (sometimes requiring some "deep dive" background research.

It's basically an obscure fan theory that runs directly contrary to actual characters and plots.

I've been aware of it for a little while but brought it to my partner's attention today (a queer, media studies graduate who lobbies for LGBTQ+ representation in the arts as part of their job, and has watched every episode of the first 4 seasons multiple times) and they - like most of the thread - hadn't picked up on any alleged coding and thought it quite ridiculous.
