Fern Britton and This Morning

What did people think of her explanation?
She didn't really explain why she didn't tell the viewers really and whilst she didn't actually lie she certainly misled imo

I love her, I think it will be terrible if she leaves, is that what she's saying?

What did she say? I only know what I read in yesterdays paper, but I really don't see why she should have to explain herself to everyone.

thought she was spot on she never lied what business is it of anyones to know what she did? Why should she explain -- think the only explanation owed is by the friend who shopped her to the press...

I think everyone should leave the poor woman alone.

She has no responsibility to explain her personal medical history to the world in general - we're just people who sometimes watch her on television, not her bloomin' mother.

Surely the fact that she has lost the weight and is now far healthier is the main issue.

she is only responsible/answerable to her family and children and it shouldn't mean anything to any of the rest of us

Yet she misled people. She is looked up to by thousands of women, and I for one bought a (as i have said before) mag the other week with her in it saying 'this is how i did it'.

Of course it's her own business, but why lie. Of course you can get by on mingy portions if you stomach is the same size as a cats.

Its only cos it's lovely old Fern that everyone thinks its ok to tell fibs. I think she looks much better, and i like her alot, but I am very surprised she has told all those mags, that she lost it thru sheer determination.

She said she never said any of those quotes, in papers or magazaines, I like her leave her alone. . She did say the next time she gets haemaroids (sp) she will let everybody know!

The thing is she did lose weight by exercising more and eating less, she only lost so much by having the band fitted.

She also said, what has been said in magazines and newspapers were not her words.

think she looks great for it, and she said she was gonna wear a bikini this summer - good for her!!! She must read on here about Takinis!

she wore a bikin even at her biggest though s- she said it doesn't matter how big you are as long as you have confidence or some such and everyone applauded her for it

I agree piratecat. I love Fern but I have read many articles in magazines saying how she did it, no mention of a gastric band! I have no problem with her having one but she shouldn't have kept selling the story that she did it all naturally.

But just because she had her stomach stapled - it doesn't mean it didn't take lots of determination to succeed.. A lot of these ops fail because people eat more than they're supposed to. It doesn't really matter how she did it - it was still hard work, she looks great and she doesn't need to tell the whole world her medical history

No-one is up in arms about the fact that Philip misled us for years into thinking his hair wasn't grey!

I saw her with my own eyes say her dh who is a chef i think made her low fat vwersions of her favourite food and she got a bike.

I think she handled it really well.

It's no-one else business.

Fern is lovely.

it may be her own business but she bought out a fitness video after saying she had lost the weight by eating sensibly and riding her bike.

It really stuck in my mind as i don't often watch the programme and i remember saying to dp i wish i had a cook who could make me all my favouite things but low calorie.No one is saying fern isn't a nice woman but she has told fibs here
