I know that as well as disliking Djokovic the regular posters here don't really like Cam Norrie, but I find it annoying that on the day he's playing in the quarter finals on Centre Court at Wimbledon he has a small subheading on the BBC Tennis page.

I'm pretty sure if it was Jack Draper it would have been the main feature (and possibly a couple of other articles too).

Edit: Just before I posted the main article was still Sinner/Dimitrov - it has now changed to the live link with the headline for Alfie Hewitt's title defence.

It’s not that I don’t like Cam Norrie I just find him a bit dull. I agree that some players seem to get all the spotlight eg Jack and Emma while other players who are still in the tournament seem to get ignored eg Cam and Sonay Kartal (before she went out) - sometimes these players prefer to go under the radar though. Cam has said that he prefers No 1 court to centre court

It feels strange now we’ve reached the point where there are just a few matches a day on the show courts - I’ve even managed to do some ironing and housework this morning!

Poor DS2 was disappointed to find out last night that Tim Henman wasn’t a multiple Wimbledon champion - he couldn’t understand why he had a Hill named after him when he hadn’t even won Wimbledon

If Norrie wins Wimbledon perhaps they’ll have to rename the Hill to Norrie Knoll? Although Murray mound never stuck and Andy won it twice.

Yeah I don’t really dislike Norrie, he just has a really grindy style of tennis that isn’t very entertaining. He definitely works hard and has made the most of his ability. I do side eye his habit of yelling out Vamos or Allez when playing Spanish/French players. He claims he aims it at his box or his friends in the crowd, yeah right.

Grindy is a very good description Ice (even if my phone doesn’t think it’s a word)

Sometimes you just don’t take to players no matter how good they are and other times you really like players who don’t get anywhere (looking at you Maxime). It’s nothing against those players. If it’s a Norris/Djok final I will be cheering Cam on

I like Cam, and I agree that if it was Jack through there would be a lot more being made of it.

Also a lot of the annoyance comes from good matches in other tournaments being pulled off air to chat about Cam for half an hour before he even walks out which isn’t his fault but it’s off putting!

Yeah spot on Jane. I'm generally not a fan of nationalism in sport. I also get annoyed in the Olympics when there is obsessive coverage of British athletes winning bronze in the tiddlywinks at the expense of covering the actual competition. With tennis I prefer to watch interesting players and great matches, rather than just the matches featuring Brits.

I do see the point about not wanting all the waste of time chatting about British players when there's actual tennis going on (and agree!).

I just feel the contrast between the hype at earlier stages with Jack/Emma versus the lack of (due) notice on the main page for Cam Norrie at quarter final stage is a bit obvious.

If it's a Norrie/Djokovic final I think I'll be ironing or out for a walk if it's a nice day 😄

I’ll miss most of the men’s final anyway, whoever’s in it - as we’re in London for Wimbledon on the Saturday we’re going to see a musical on Sunday afternoon then getting train home so I’ll mainly just be score watching (might be able to watch a bit on my phone at some point but that’s all).

I can’t see Cam getting past Carlos today anyway.

I’m the very opposite. I would always cheer on a Scottish team over any other and a British team or individual over any other nationality.

This has always been my stance- I'm first and foremost a tennis fan. If one of those players happens to be British, then that's a coincidence really. I don't actively choose to watch Brits just because. Any more than I choose to watch women, because I'm female (mostly I don't).
I was never a Henman fan- far more interesting players were around then, I was never a Murray fan. He's amusing off court- on court he annoyed the hell out of me. .

40 years ago, I was an Edberg fan, more recently, it has been Rafa.
I like discovering new players across the tournaments . They are rarely Brits, it's just the way it is.

I do like Joe Salisbury , for example, because I think his achievements in doubles have been very overlooked by the British media.

Just watching some of the invitational doubles- nice to Babsi with Mark Woodforde.

They are playing Martina and Nimonjic.

I think Mark fell in to the net post with his belly button So they lost the point .

I love watching the invitation doubles, the matches tend to be great fun because they don’t take it seriously. Bahrami is due to play later and he is hilarious to watch!

Although I'm Scottish I never felt any desire to support Andy Murray.
I like players for their playing style and personality, not their nationality.

Chessie Bahrami and Leconte playing together used to have me in sttches.

Marcos Baghdatis is playing later too- he was always one of my favourites.

Watching Gordon having seen Alfie just now.

Anyone seeing Roger in the Royal Box yesterday just think "wow the worlds most expensive pair of sunglasses!"?

Talking of the Royal Box Alfie and Gordon looked super sharp there the other day.

And world's most beautiful man James Anderson was in there yesterday. 😊
