I think so that it’s better for people in different time zones

They've been change to allow the doubles matches to be played first (and actually have spectators watching, and not leaving first). In practice, I don't think that will make a difference- and actually, I think it's more to do with international tv audience. 4pm is a better time for US /New York audiences, for example (it's 11am) .

I actually think it's a stupid change that won't actually benefit the doubles players at all- and will mean the singles could end up going really late/disruption with closing the roof etc. Especially if the Carlos/Jannik match is anything like their match at RG.

I do find AO easier to get uo early though and watch til the early afternoon.

It's the US Open that I hate- it's get's me all confused. (And I find staying awake for the late matches harder these days).
