The 4pm start time is crap. They used to put the doubles on afterwards, why the sudden change? Do they really think all those celebs will come in to watch the doubles and not just drink the free bar and eat the free food then go and watch the singles finals!

I've been in debentures a few times, and a good proportion were there just for the hospitality and not watching the tennis. Same at Club Wembley.

No,kazza it really isn't good for the game when there are pairings including Dick Kyrgios, who you just know are going to play it for laughs-like an expensive exhibition event.
The players who need the exposure, and the money, are frozen out. How does it raise the profile of the sport?

As you all know, I like watching Djokovic and I’m excited he’s literally making history. Possible 25th Grand Slam, McEnroe said “he’s the most technically proficient player” - can’t remember if he said in the game or in history. He’s holding his own in 30+ degree heat in hours long matches with men 15+ years younger than him. But most of all, I enjoy watching him because he wasn’t connected, he wasn’t super rich, he just really really wanted to do something and he did it. In one of the most exclusive and elitist sports. I love that.

At least we know we are ought to be spared Mac commentating on the finals - he generally works for the US on finals day.

Think a lot of empty seats are hospitality and they go for afternoon tea, the free bar. My boss was invited by one of our partners last year. But the likes of Evian, Ralph Lauren, Land Rover etc invite all the 'stars'.
