She’s got Shirley Bassey vibes too.

Love the graphic of wood chip for the uninitiated Grin

Yes I noticed that - very fetching 😁
I loved the clip of Jarvis when he was very young.

Notashamed13 · 28/06/2025 22:09

I absolutely love a few of Rayes never actually seen her before and she looks nothing like i expected. Ice Cream Man has made me very emotional 😢

PlumpHobbit · 28/06/2025 22:13

Never come across Neil Young before and he's not inspiring me to see more of him. Is his performance actually live on iplayer or are they slightly behind know there was some controversy about him?

Looks like I'll be switching to Charli XCX when she starts

EasternStandard · 28/06/2025 22:13

Portishead song was beautiful on R6

Notashamed13 · 28/06/2025 22:13

But I do have to agree that as much as music is medicine, it's extremely depressing for a Saturday night.

Plasticwaste · 28/06/2025 22:14

Raye okay but felt similar to the last time she did Glasto.

Onto Neil Young now on BBC 4.

jackspratswife01 · 28/06/2025 22:14

A bit too mellow for me with Neil hope he picks up the pace

NeedWineNow · 28/06/2025 22:14

OMG Raye, that was amazing! Ice Cream Man made me quite emotional. What a voice, I’d love to hear her sing some of the great jazz standards like Ella or Billie Holliday, she’d be brilliant.

And I loved her dress. I’d look like a badly stuffed sofa if I wore it but she looked fab.

Fibrous · 28/06/2025 22:15

Yeah Beth Gibbons is absolutely killing it, but I do wonder about the saturday night placement. It would much better suit a sunday comedown. I don't want to be crying on a saturday night.

Tom Odell is killing it. What a voice

Love Tom Odell, saw him live last year. Miles Smith was the first support act.

Butterflyfluff · 28/06/2025 22:20

Are they not showing the crowd at Neil Young because it’s so sparse?

Its pretty dire that this is the headline act on Saturday night on the main stage.

Plasticwaste · 28/06/2025 22:21

Sound seems a bit patchy.

Juslooking2 · 28/06/2025 22:21

I might watch a little bit of Charli but I don’t really get her popularity. She does a lot of strutting around the stage in underwear with synthy vocals largely produced from a backing track. Don’t really see the appeal. What am I missing?

Notashamed13 · 28/06/2025 22:26

Oh god just put Neil young on...I think I'd rather have depressive Raye! Bloody dreadful

SocksAndTheCity · 28/06/2025 22:26

I'm waiting for CharliXCX (even though I don't really know who she is) having switched over from Neil Young because I was getting bored.

Favourites so far have been En Vogue and Ezra, but to be honest it's all just killing time before Prodigy for me 😀

Notashamed13 · 28/06/2025 22:28

I'm waiting for Charli.

Notashamed13 · 28/06/2025 22:29

Will the Prodigy be the same without Keith 🤔

NeedWineNow · 28/06/2025 22:30

We turned on Neil Young and within 2 minutes DH had turned it over to the U21’s football. He sounded pretty dire. I only wanted to see if he does Harvest Moon but I’ll try and find it on iPlayer.

BurntBroccoli · 28/06/2025 22:32

Black screen of death for Scissor sisters… anyone else?

They're not the same, but they're still my favourite live act ever and well worth a look.

I've seen them four times since they returned (and just booked my tickets for next April) and I can't recommend it enough.

Have I missed Doechii, does anybody know?

Yes same for me

Plasticwaste · 28/06/2025 22:33

Well, that was riveting. Thanks, Neil.

Onto Charli!

On another note, we literally live a stones throw away from Pilton (ok so about 35 min) I can't afford to buy tickets, but I'm super curious if I took myself and nipper up to the Tor, would we be able to see or hear anything?....keep seeing the Tor in the background and I'd love to just soak up even 0.5% of that atmosphere. Anybody know? Might be a late evening for us tomorrow if it's a yes.
