With only five posts left on the old thread, thought I'd start this so we can link between the two.

The teenagers are doing well because they both still live with their respective Mum and Dad, and they haven't had much life experience. I thought Fin dealt with getting lost really well, with the taxi driver taking them somewhere they didn't want to be.

I want the brothers to win, they are the most interesting.

I don’t know why only one couple is disqualified during the whole race. It makes no sense.
Either keep everyone in or make it so that the losing team drops out at every stage.

I agree about wanting the brothers to win.

Funnily I asked my nephew about all the Polish children in his class and he said they all speak Polish at home and to each other at school which they sometimes get pulled up on.

I had never watched this programme before this series but I have really enjoyed it. I love the two brothers. Would love them to win.

I have Polish friends whose two children (one born here) speak Polish and English fluently without a trace of an accent.

Yes, I suppose it creates more drama at a certain point in the journey, but I agree, I wish they wouldn't do it.

What does everyone think of Caroline and Tom? I can't warm to them.

I’m actually warming to Caroline and have seen a real growth in her. In India, she was embracing the life, challenges etc. initially she seemed daunted by it all, and was letting/expecting Tom to take the lead as he’s travelled a lot, but now she seems a lot more confident.

Yes, they have been harder to warm to. Caroline seemed quite brittle, but she's really pushed herself and got out of her comfort zone. I think she's been a sahm always, so feels that she hasn't had to prove herself. Tom is doing well and seems to have become more open about his CP, particularly when he told the carpet weavers about it. They did well to catch up.

I wonder what her marriage is like?

I think the brothers should be given their own series. They’re far more interesting and talented than half the nonentities on TV these days.

If they half the airtime they’ve had, they’d still annoy the bell out of me. Sorry, I can’t warm to them either. Caroline really grates on me, for some reason.

A speech and language therapist can explain better but the way some sounds are pronounced in some languages affects how they sound in others.

And of course some accents are mocked more than others.

I love the look of those sleeper buses, I did wonder about toilets, I agree how do you find the ticket shop for each bus as it looks really confusing, there must be quite a lot of hidden rules in the show which you don't get to see by watching it

I’m currently watching Series 3, the maligned Canada one, and I’m really enjoying it. Much more about their travels, jobs, budget, accommodation woes, home stays and they are a really interesting mix of personalities. No one grates.

There was a father and daughter pair in that one. She started off a bit of a pampered princess but matured massively over the course of the series which was good to see (without anyone banging on about it).

Oh I’m warming to Thomas more now. I really like the brothers. And I like the teenagers actually. I won’t be cross if any of them win tbh. 😬

And I can see things from both the sisters’ point of view.

Im so excited for the next episode as I think some of them will be taking a route I'm going later this year.
I've never been to India before and am both super excited and also a bit scared of how manic it will be. I can't wait though.
Last year they also did part of where I went to in Asia last year.. maybe I'm an omen lol
