Is there a celebrity traitors thread yet?

Cast announced as, Stephen Fry, Mark Bonner, Celia Imrie, Alan Carr, Joe Wilkinson, Nick Mohammed, Ruth Codd, Paloma Faith, Lucy Beaumont, Charlotte Church, Jonathon Ross, Kate Garraway, Joe Marler, Tameka Empson, David Olusoga, Claire Balding, Tom Daley, Cat Burns & Niki Omilana.

I’m looking forward to this. I have a feeling that it will be harder for the celebs - some of whom must know each other - to trick people, but will definitely be watching. I’m glad it’s a good cast with several comedians.

Now wondering who would be good traitors. Mark Bonner in a cloak would put a smile on my face, but I’m worried that Alan Carr could be a Linda.

Only it’s not their bedroom, really, as they all stay in the Marriott near the airport. Who knows when exactly they film the segment where the murdered contestant gets their letter? I suppose the next day, after they’ve been informed at the hotel after the traitors have met?

Nonthey don’t. They stay in all different places. Once they leave the castle they are not allowed to speak to each other. They meet again at breakfast.

Rictasmorticia · 09/10/2025 12:34

Looks like the Irish version is on Iplayer in November.

It’s the Marriott for the non-celebs. With guards on all the floors to make sure they don’t interact. I assume same for celebs although maybe they have an upgrade

Stephen Fry seemed to get a fair bit of air time on the first show - does this mean he's likely to be one of the first out? I hope so!

I'm new to these threads but I agree with this. I'm hoping he gets voted out quickly so I can enjoy the series.

I think Alan Carr is probably going to surprise us. He is very theatrical and will use that to his advantage.

Is Tom Daley an Olympian? It may have been mentioned a few times 😅

It's a fantastic show and I'm really enjoying it.

Tom who???
Tell me, does he knit as well? 😆

Oh I have been looking forward to this!
Really good opening episode with some great laugh out loud moments.
I don't want anyone to be murdered just yet!

Unless they’ve arranged matters entirely differently to the non-celebrity version, they all stay at the Marriott Courtyard by Inverness airport, but aren’t allowed contact with one another, have the remotes removed from their bedroom TVs so they can’t access the internet etc. I think it would be far easier to keep a security guard or two on the corridors for their nineteen bedrooms than to be handling the logistics of driving different contestants all over the area to different hotels.

I liked Tom’s jumper, which I assume was from his knitwear range.

‘Maybe because the first challenge involved a horse’

Good point! I have no doubt she knows exactly what she’s doing and I think it’s a conscious choice to go wilder for the celebrity series.

I think Claud is taking the mick a bit now with the clothes. She’s well aware of the hype around her wardrobe and has received billions of fingerless gloves. In the first series she was wearing striking outfits with certain key elements and IMHO she’s crossed the line into comedy for this series. I would have to go back and check but the boots on Day One seemed to have chaps attached, like when kids ride in ankle boots.

I think we’ve seen those boots before haven’t we - maybe in the last series? I thought they were odd then 😂 have not changed my opinion. Also not sold on the flappy raggy cuffs but I don’t suppose she does the dishes

CaveMum · 09/10/2025 12:50

Richard Osman revealed in a previous TRIE episode that all contestants leave the castle at the same time in their individual cars but that once they are all on their way the cars with the Traitors in circle back to the castle to film the turret scenes. Surely an easier way of figuring out who the Traitors are is to watch and see who is the most tired!

I mentioned it last night, but the TRIE reaction video/podcast last night is worth a watch/listen and I can't wait for more. I loved Marina talking about how much she loves Clare - they were at the same school and Clare was Marina's House Captain. She said everyone loved her and overwhelmingly voted for her as Head Girl.

whenallthesconesaregone · 09/10/2025 13:03

Clare Balding absolutely has Head Girl energy

gingercat02 · 09/10/2025 13:13

Good found a thread
Great first episode. Not a JR fan but he wasn't annoying for once!
Not heard of the YouTuber but DS had, nor either of the young singers.
Clare Baldings screw up was funny, trying to be too clever.
Charlotte needed a better bra.
Loved Alan's comment about being too fat for his cloak
Happy with the first batch of traitors

Yep (and you thought you started threads too early 🤣)

I know 😄😄😅

Although I underatand, there was important traitors goss to be discussed

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2025 13:18

They did well with the first task. Agree that Clare has the head girl vibe, but also seems fair and reasonable I would imagine. Not too full of herself

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2025 13:19

I’ve always liked Jonathon Ross. He is an Essex boy ( one reason !!) plus also flawed and willing to hold his hands up to things his done that were not his finest hour!

She does, but that leadership instinct led her into a fairly early significant screw-up that a more timid type wouldn’t have made, and that meant a faithful sacrificed her shield, and that might cost her.

Also, it’s not hard to imagine her as an excellent Head Girl-style traitor rallying the troops, organising slick murder in plain sight operations etc.

Stowickthevast · 09/10/2025 13:37

Great first episode. I think Claudia's boots were new as my teen flagged them as shark boots which she's a bit obsessed by.

I'm worried for Paloma as she seems the obvious target. Also worried Tom may be in eviction danger as Niko & Ruth were saying there must be a young one.

Teen also tells me Niko is very clever and plays a lot of Traitors style games.

Loved Nick M just cruising through the puzzles and Tom being the only one that remembered the symbols. Also want Tom's jumper.

CameForAVacationStayedForTheRevolution · 09/10/2025 13:55

I think after the hand on the face murder when it comes to the first “proper” murder they’ll get rid of Stephen Fry. He has a reputation for being intelligent and will be seen as a threat. However if he’s not murdered the faithful might think he’s a traitor if they’ve thought about it and be suspicious of why he wasn’t murdered so vote him off. So if the traitors are really clever they won’t murder him and let him be banished the next day anyway .

Just watched Richard and Marina - well worth a watch/listen. Richard confirmed that it was an extra episode and the regular Q&A is still out tomorrow.

He also said they want to do more Traitor reaction pieces and that they will all be available to everyone, not just members.

Right, I’m off to listen to Uncloaked in bed!

See you all back here tomorrow at 9!

I second listening to The Rest Is Entertainment Traitors special - you can find it here

I thought it was a really interesting first show. There seemed to be a lot of, to quote Claudia, discombobulation. It was clever to have them scrabbling about in the dirt straight away, I think it made them a little less "famous people" and brought them quite literally down to earth.

Alan was the only person who could get away with touching someone on the face, which is a bit unfortunate for him as he seems (for now) the least able to act the successful traitor long enough to still be there at the end.

I hope David and Nick get to the end. Nick's smart with the puzzles, so fingers crossed he can retain the other faithfulls' trust.

What Clare did was idiotic, and I felt it showed an interesting mindset when, at the second gate, a few shouted to just use a shield without there being any effort to solve the puzzle. Thankfully Nick motored in, got the rest out of the way, and did the puzzle.

Clare was good at sorting out who did what on the horse. I thought the way she said they needed someone light on the contraption and asked the young Irish actor if she'd mind doing it was a really good way of being inclusive and not focusing on her disability. So, despite her daftness at the first gate, I like her.

I think Stephen was a little left footed at the Shakespeare deaths. Nick sprung in there as well and started naming them, and I think Stephen had thought himself the font of all knowledge on such subjects, so was surprised when someone else did too.

CaveMum · 09/10/2025 14:27

The thing with Clare is that she described herself as the Labrador - bouncing in, eager to please everyone and wanting to be loved. She just jumped straight in trying to be helpful, but it didn't pay off.

I’m not sure a celebrity grouping is anywhere near as likely to regard Stephen Fry as some kind of intellectual demi-god, though. Some of them at least will have worked with him, socialised with him etc, be less in awe of his persona, and will be less likely to share the popular view that he’s some kind of preternaturally clever prodigy with a Sherlock Holmes style mind for tiny details and deduction.

He’s articulate, widely-read, intellectually-curious, has a lot of cultural capital and an excellent memory, but I’m not sure it goes beyond that.

Also, Clare Balding also went to Cambridge, and Nick Mohammed turned down a place there to study at Durham. David Olusoga is at least as intellectually qualified. Jonathan Ross has a degree from SSEES. There’s actually a lot of rather good educations among the cast, and actors in particular often end up with a lot of cultural capital. I’m just not sure they’re necessarily going to see SF as the Intellectual Big Daddy.

When Nick jumped in with Tybalt I thought he’s a clever cookie. Then the puzzle genius.

Alan was in such a fluster....is it possible he could murder someone who has a shield?!! That would be hilarious.. I really hope he lasts for a few episodes - he's TV gold.

I think the rugby guy might be suspicious of Jonathan Ross who did a bit of a slip up.

They are a nice bunch - great TV.
