New series starting next week - really looking forward to it. The teams are travelling in Asia, but I can't find information about the couples yet. Wednesday nights sorted!

Caroline is irritating me so much this week that I’ve warmed to Tom a lot more.

Yes, same.

TwentyKittens · 28/05/2025 21:44

Found it hilarious that they went to Jodhpur and there were so many shots of little horses, and Tom even mentioned how competitive his mum is!

😆

NCTDN · 28/05/2025 21:46

Those horses had strange ears!

I think they were Marwari horses - they have curly ears and hold their tails like Arabians.

NCTDN · 28/05/2025 21:51

Going to google them !
Fin and Sioned have such a low budget now.

SabrinaThwaite · 28/05/2025 21:57

It’s getting much closer!

jay55 · 28/05/2025 21:57

Wooohooo what an amazing catchup.

TragicMuse · 28/05/2025 22:02

That was thrilling! I really enjoyed that episode.

Yes, same.

Yes I warmed to Tom esp when he said he was falling in love with rural India.

it did make me laugh - all the horse/ competitive comments yet nothing about eventing!

I haven't warmed to either of them although I wondered if he hadn't been allowed much independence before.

viques · 28/05/2025 22:06

Really , really enjoyed this episode, everyone seemed much happier and positive, the scenery was spectacular and the experiences amazing. Tom and Caroline a bit snippy over the taxi, but Tom opening up about his CP was great, the sisters really talking and starting to sort stuff out, the kids enjoying cake, the brothers in turbans!

The only downside was the Delhi belly, I did feel sorry for him, I got struck down with it for 24 hours, but I did it in comfort in a 5* hotel, not on an overnight bus, poor man, he looked absolutely drained.

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/05/2025 22:06

Fin and Sioned have done so well to catch up.

I thought Tom had been travelling abroad alot previously?

I haven't warmed to either of them although I wondered if he hadn't been allowed much independence before.

I also wonder whether he has felt it difficult to live up to his parents' successes - his mum as a very competitive eventer and his father obviously a success careerwise, financially enabling a very good lifestyle for them all.

With his drugs, being expelled, not being fully physically able... I think that must have been hard, too, whatever privilege he has had growing up.

Gundogday · 28/05/2025 22:07

Travelling or just on holiday? It's the way Caroline talked about 'letting' him or 'encouraging' him to make the decisions.

There were so many horses in this episode! It was hilarious.

Is this the first week Caroline's dropped the housewife schtik and has been more herself. Even admitting to being very competitive.

I can actually see her trying to not be overbearing and make all the decisions. And I wonder if her no nonsense just get on with it attitude at home might have stifled Tom a bit as he seems more of a slower, contemplative thinker.

the80sweregreat · 28/05/2025 22:19

I’m glad the teenagers have caught up ! Well done them. Finn has had such a bad time of it with his health problems and issues. I’d like them to win, but I bet the brothers make it. They are very competitive.

They were so cute, I thought they had ear covers on against flies at first, but no, just elf ears.

Femalefootyfan · 28/05/2025 22:24

What a great episode, loved how Fin and Sioned caught up by so much. Poor Brian looked so unwell but he seemed to recover, I’m not quite sure how though. Whilst watching Letitia and Elizabeth finally having a conversation about the family home being lost, it seemed that Letitia could barely look at Elizabeth but Letitia seemed so much lighter in mood afterwards, so clearly it was a positive conversation.

Really enjoying the scenery but I would be so overwhelmed by the large towns and cities and I’ve lived in both and spent many a holiday in busy places.

finfitrulesok · 28/05/2025 22:25

What? Caroline is totally awesome. Huge smile on her face. She and Tom are loving every second. I adore them.

I agree he has really grown on me and I think he is actually a really nice person. She was complaining too much about slipping back, she should just enjoy the experience with her son..she is lucky to be able to do it
I was worried about Brian tonight he looked very ill stomach upsets are so horrible.

CrossPurposes · 28/05/2025 22:25

According to the Q&A:

Tom: I've backpacked around Europe with my mates. We did inter-railing. But that was not quite backpacking in this sense. Last year I went six months around South America which was very much like this - roughing it and that was brilliant. I had a great time.

They are Marwari horses, native to Rajasthan. Feisty but gorgeous. Supposedly descended from the horses of Rajput warriors.

PuppyMonkey · 28/05/2025 22:30

No sorry I’m still not getting any warm feelings about Tom or his mum. I find my mind wandering when they’re on as they’re so dull.

Poor Brian looked absolutely white as a sheet. Hope somebody slipped him some Imodium.
