This is probably a bit unreasonable smug but it makes me feel better when I watch it because generally the clutter in my house isn’t too bad in comparison! That being said it probably would look worse in the warehouse!

Same here. Some shows I watch for just a bit of light entertainment, which they stop being when every week the participants have a “story”. Some weeks with a “story”, and some without fine, but when it’s every single week it becomes unwatchable. As a PP said, DIY SOS went down that route, and also lately Race Across the World.

Same with The Doghouse of c4. I only want to see the dogs being matched up to humans. Not most of an episode spent on a sad story, as harsh as that may sound.

Yes I’d rather hear the sad story of the dog!

It’s not harsh. I think that the majority of people I know (and myself also) would have a “story”. Parent/child/sibling who has had cancer, or died suddenly, or died after a long illness, or currently is terminally ill or has dementia. Sadly none of these things are rare. If you have any of those things in your life, the last thing you need is to be reminded of them when trying to relax in the evening.

Yes I’d rather know the dogs history

I felt the young woman this week who worked from home was unfairly matched with a troubled dog, as in a dog the centre did know had issues, growling and snapping clearly weren’t the only problems

I LOVE Dog House though it’s a real comfort watch

Anyone else watch the show for a burst of energy to chuck stuff? I can normally get rid of 20 things in the 24 hours after watching the show. Then the magic feeling disappeara

I'm the opposite - I sit down thinking my house is a dump and by the end I'm thinking it's not at all bad.

TheBloodMoonIsRisingOnceAgain · 28/03/2026 11:16

Thats exactly how I feel regarding The Doghouse. It's such an uplifting concept, and the stories take up so much of the show. I skip through them which leaves very little time for the dog matching.

Edited

Well there’s this (I pointed out to DH in the last episode that my meagre 4 candles and one pack of wax melts is basically nothing) but then the latest episode made us both well up at the end. The phone in the garden room was something we’d both love.

Yes that was a really nice touch. I’d do anything for some voice notes of my people who’ve passed.

Are there new episodes? I love all of the show. I've watched Australian and New Zealand ones.

2 new episodes on 4 on demand more if you pay for premium. Series 9.

ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself · 29/03/2026 22:52

I’m just watching the two Craig’s, and I’m thinking the same thing with every warehouse reveal, which is a momentary ‘oh that’s not much’ 🤦‍♀️.

Yes. It started at 8pm. BBC iplayer otherwise.

Omg I absolutely love Dilly's dress at the end. Really gorgeous imho 😍

Damn. Too much to watch. I chose MAFS.

Sorry to be the sceptical voice here but I think the mum is totally deluding herself if she really thinks those three boys are going to be happy sharing that tiny room when they’re massive teenagers. Plus that bunk bed style set up won’t last long - the design was really babyish, reminded me of the set of a CBeebies show or similar.

I can't believe all 3 beds in the boys' room were actually full size singles tbh 😯

MrsMoastyToasty · 31/03/2026 21:23

Changing the beds in the boys room isn't going to be easy when you have to climb into the pods to change the fitted sheets.
I still think that they will have to move in the next couple of years when the oldest starts secondary school and needs study space.

Lovemycat2023 · 31/03/2026 21:40

I’ve just taken inspiration from a recent episode and cleaned my iron with a paracetamol!

Study space? A family of 7 on one income can’t cater to study space. And most families don’t!

I thought the bed pods were very clever, amazing to have got 3 full size singles in like that. And the boys can learn to make their own beds so climbing in to change the fitted sheets doesn’t have to be horrendous.

What a lovely family. I loved tonight’s episode.

And I agree about Dilly’s dress! She always looks lovely imo.

MyBrightPeer · 31/03/2026 23:01

Really liked tonight’s episode - I felt for the Dad, he obviously carries so much on his own shoulders, I’m glad he was able to let some emotion out.

Daisyrainbows · 01/04/2026 13:44

I didn’t like the purple colour drench room. Also agree 3 teenage boys in that room is so so unfair
