I loved this episode. What a wonderful family. To have been through such trauma but still be so positive and loving towards each other.

The youngest girls response to her room made me cry! She was so so so pleased. Gorgeous little girl.

I think it’s nice for the older two to have their dads bits out and about now they’re old enough to process it.

the80sweregreat · 14/04/2026 21:18

Her story of driving after the ambulance made me cry.
Makes you realize that nobody knows what’s round the corner in life. They are such a lovely family and so positive. I hope the new rooms give them a lot of pleasure and they can all move forwards with a clutter free home.

I just struggle to believe that catching swine flu could cause such life changing disabilities 😞

AtIusvue · 14/04/2026 22:13

How wonderful those kids are!

My dd nearly died of influenza A, she was in intensive care on a ventilator for 3 days.

Flu is a deadly illness for children which is why the vaccine is so important for them.

Why do you think there are vaccines for it? It's extremely serious and can be fatal or life altering.

Stacey is pissing me off, she was determined to get the mum to cry 🙄

I didn't even know there was a vaccine for it!

I didn't even know there was a vaccine for it!

All the pupils and teachers in our school get the flu "jab" or nasal drops every year. A team from the local Health Authority go round all the schools doing it,

MyBrightPeer · 15/04/2026 12:22

Wha a lovely family. The mum had been through so much, I really felt for her.

Meredusoleil · 15/04/2026 12:23

I was talking about swine flu!

I know about the flub jab and nasal sprays as me and my kids get them every year 👍

It's in with the flu vaccine.

Oh! I didn't know that.

I just read back, I didn't mean to come across as snippy.

RaraRachael · 15/04/2026 14:01

I haven't enjoyed this series as much as previous ones. Maybe I'm just bored of the concept.

This week's family were lovely though.

the80sweregreat · 15/04/2026 14:17

Most of these types of shows run their course eventually and then they are just used as repeats or fillers for ever more as they are inoffensive and don’t date.

I think the last family are deaf sign language users. Will be following with interest as my family are too.

Why is that any different to normal hearing families? If you’re a messy bugger and a hoarder it makes no difference if you’re deaf?🤷‍♀️

It’s good to see families that represent you. Growing up the only brown people I saw were in Mind your language!

Not sure what your point is

suburburban · 15/04/2026 17:33

Did irritate me a little when Stacey kept saying the mum had been a single parent, she had been a widow which I thought was better terminology

RaraRachael · 15/04/2026 17:47

I normally like Stacey and think she's good with people but I felt there was too much revisiting the tragedies in this episode.

Meredusoleil · 15/04/2026 18:13

I got the feeling Stacey was trying to get the mum to open up and talk about what had happened because she has been keeping it to herself and bottling it up over all these years. It's like she sees herself as some kind of trauma/grief therapist/counsellor/advisor or something 🧐

A hug for Stacey makes everything better 🙄🤣

Episide 6:

This poor family.. so much heartache and such challenges

What lovely children. So bright, articulate and engaging

Oh my God! 55 remote controls! What the hell?? I’m speechless!

As always I think of how much money has been spent on all this stuff

Just unimaginable to think of two perfectly healthy little twin 16-month olds and then one day one is whisked away and from then on profoundly mentally and physically disabled.

Poor family. Poor mum especially. What a remarkable woman. So much compassion and respect for her.

And what a wonderful man to embrace her and her children. A lot of men wouldn’t want to take on these challenges.

Massive plastic toys like play kitchens and Barbie houses take up too much room and look horrible in my opinion. I’m not having any more kids but if I was I’d stick to only buying small things that can store away.

Dilly’s hair is amazing.. I’d kill for hair like her

Why do they always use such bright, nursery school colours everywhere? The organisation and storage solutions are amazing but the colour schemes are often an eyesore.

The little girl’s reaction was a joy and Gregor looked so genuinely delighted, bless him.

Well that’s it for this series!

Meredusoleil · 15/04/2026 21:19

Agree about Dilly's hair. Colour, texture, style all lovely.

I didn't realise it was the last in the series 😟 Do we know what BBC1 will be showing in that slot instead?

TeaRoseTallulah · 15/04/2026 21:21

I agree about the childish colours.
