@PearlsTeapot thank you but wow so many typos too much lemon and ginger tea should have stuck to coffee. Yes no one dies from sharing a room. They have a large dining table and there's a door between kitchen and living room so those doing homework can have peace

Zippidydoodah · 04/04/2026 23:37

I colour coded my older three children when they were little 🥰 so cute and worked so well! Good to make the most of it while they’re small (teenagers are bloody hard work in comparison. I did think, having five that close together is going to be tough).

Zippidydoodah · 04/04/2026 23:38

I only colour coded things like towels, water bottles, lunchboxes, swimming bags etc. not their clothes!

Meredusoleil · 05/04/2026 07:04

I really like the colour coding idea for the kids. I tried a bit with my 2 when they were younger (purple for dd1 and pink for dd2), but dd1 grew out of it fast and dd2 still hasn't lol.

I thought it was a podcast, I was planning on listening- but is it a show?

It’s a podcast/show (like they all are now) and is on iplayer. I might try the second episode to see if it is any better. 3 eps on iplayer currently.

Tonight's episode - hoarders

likelysuspect · 07/04/2026 20:15

Amazed that she is a therapist and she is literally (just like her husband) plastering over grief, hiding 'stuff' under things.

I thought the same. I think they've lived in chaos for so long.

likelysuspect · 07/04/2026 20:25

OMG he is just like my partner

'we're keeping that'

'its got dust on it, its never used'

'we're keeping that'

Arrrrgghhhh

This show gives me a heart attack

I know there’s deep seated psychological things going on, but it does frustrate me when they fail to engage with the process they signed on to. Lots of families didn’t get picked.

I think this show is too 'entertainment' for this sort of thing

Serious hoarding like this family is all about loss and grief and its spilling out here and has never been dealt with.

Getting rid of some slow cookers really isnt going to solve/help this

I would be interested to know how much of the observed ADHD traits for this family overlap with attachment and trauma experiences and how the effect of living in such chaos affects and contraindicates with ND. But thats for another long thread!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 08/04/2026 00:11

There was a hoarders programme with a therapist / psychologist. He used to explore the trauma and reasons behind hoarding. He’d often uncover the old photo/ memory that had piles of stuff on. Covering the pain was his interpretation. Stelios kiosses the hoarder next door.

the80sweregreat · 08/04/2026 06:54

The horders programme with a trained therapist was good ( there were a few on at one time and I can’t remember what they were called)
One on many years ago was ‘ life laundry ‘ , but they only made a few episodes I think.

likelysuspect · 08/04/2026 07:34

Yes they were much better programmes

That poor girl having to live in all that last night, its the sort of thing that leads to a breakdown, i hope they keep it up

Ohcrap082024 · 08/04/2026 09:50

I’ve just watched this week’s episode. What a lovely couple. I thought it was really telling that they moved into his late sister’s house, didn’t want to change anything for the sake of her dc, and then just got stuck. Then add in two more dc, 3 ND people and a ton of grief. Yep, I can definitely see how they got to where they were.

Lovely daughters. I really hope things work out for them.

I have the book for the show, it is about 15 years ago.

Stacey's sister.

Yes she just said. I thought it was as she talks a bit like her.

I like cleaning programmes. They don’t tend to make them anymore , but Aggie and Kim were brutal with people , slightly different to the more gentle approach even with Dilly , who can be tough but fair.
