Am I the only one watching? I can't see a thread

Are they not having a skate off for the first few weeks because the lower scoring couples are so poor at skating that asking them to learn two routines to the level needed to perform on the show is too much for them? It's safer for them to focus on just one performance.

If you only have to learn one routine per week it minimises the chance you will fall in the live show. Remembering Gemma Collins epic fall...

@Choux I think it's so they can fit in the maximum amount of ad breaks. When there are fewer skaters I expect it will be back. I think the show used to run about 10 minutes longer

Maybe they could just do their skate from earlier in the show, as a skate off skate? Then it's just one routine to learn.

I think that's what they're proposing once the skate off starts.

They don't need to learn two routines now. They got rid of the Save Me Skate this time, and they just repeat the earlier performance same as they do on Strictly. But we haven't seen it yet as there hasn't been a skate off.

I can’t remember hearing that, and I’d usually pick up on it because my husband has one.

It was the same with Bez though wasn’t it, he stayed in a lot longer than he should have.

It's part a skating skills competition and part a popularity contest so if someone is a rubbish skater but popular then I think that's fair enough

Injured herself backstage? Sorry, this probably shouldn't make me laugh but I imagined something like Smithy from G&S, throwing herself over, trying to injure herself so that she doesn't have to join in anymore

I'm glad they've mentioned the air tragedy. I wondered if they would....

He's had so many weeks practise and he still looks like he only got on the ice yesterday...

I know, Elderflower. I think I'm just feeling emotionally this week! Also felt all choked up hearing Dan's nans story! & this is my fave skate from Dan so far.

Dan is one of my favourites...

Steve may be a top class rower but he's awful on the ice. Worse than awful. ⛸️ Fern last week should have stayed in and waved Steve good-bye. Am losing trust now and I adore ice skating. 🙁
