@BishyBarnyBee I think Nathan is white too?

That was my memory but when I looked him up, I wasn't sure - which is when I got uncomfortable with trying to categorise people and thought I shouldn't be doing it!

Stowickthevast · 09/01/2025 08:16

I can see that!

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 09/01/2025 08:17

I'd love a follow-on program (instead of unclocked?) where they talked about the psychology. Such things as discussing the phenomenon of group think and how people don't follow the gameplay they were convinced they would follow. Why people are so emotional so quickly. Also discuss the players unconscious bias would be amazing.

Linda's
contribution in the traitors tower = "exactly", "100%' , "yes", "absolutely"

Exactly! She adds nothing. Minah running the show.

Lentilweaver · 09/01/2025 08:24

If you are a brown doctor, scirntist or lawyer in any Traitors worldwide, pretend to be dim
gormless and charmless
a hairdresser or beautician or burger flipper. Anything that doesn't threaten people. Maybe an influencer.

Jaz survived to the end last year becsuse he didnt voice his theories too loudly. But people still ignored him and kept following Paul like sheep.

On another level, I really enjoyed Minah's crocodie tears lsst night! They should chsnge the name of this show to The Crying Game.

It did make me laugh when Dan said earnestly that his autism meant he was all about the logic, and then when Anna asked him why he suspected her to be a Traitor he went on about how he just had a feeling which he had to follow.

I really hope Anna doesn't get recruited because I won't be able to bear her being banished, announcing she's a traitor, and Dan feeling vindicated for his "it's 100% her" nonsense.

I don't think she'd accept though. If everyone thought I was a traitor and I thought I was going to be voted out the next day, I'd definitely refuse because I'd want to be able to tell them they were wrong and that I'm a faithful!

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 09/01/2025 08:31

I'll be sorry if Freddie goes. I like him. I'm won over by the fact he's seems nice (and doesn't ignore middle aged women) without being smarmy.

We need the downfall of the conceited mediocre white man!!

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 09/01/2025 08:33

On getting rid of intelligent people. Do not understand why they banished people for being smart. Totally understand why you'd get them out if you were a traitor. Anyone with a bit of cop on would need to go.

Very sad to see Kas go.

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2025 08:35

Yes I remember Jake last week, he’s been sidelined a bit so far this week but he seemed like one to watch. Wasn’t it also him gunning for Linda? That’s all disappeared now! Confused

I come from the East Midlands so I’m loving Tyler at the moment - classic accent. Grin

Lentilweaver · 09/01/2025 08:38

I think they all should have watched previous episodes of Traitors. The ones with obviously clever jobs are never chosen to be Traitors.

But they all seem to have watched Love Island.

Sorry should not post late at night. I meant wasn’t manipulative enough. I meant he was a nice guy and nor devious., glad you picked that up

People are threatened by bright professional people it seems. Far better to be shrieking and weeping , without any self control or ability to use your brain. That’s reality TV unfortunately. If this series carries on being so underwhelming, I won’t watch the next one.

fairydust11 · 09/01/2025 08:39

I think if they go for Freddie, he’ll reject.
I think Anna may accept.
I think if they go for Fozia it might be the downfall for Linda or even possibly Minah - I think she’ll accept but disagree with how they’re playing the game & will possibly want them to go for one of the men who excluded Kas possibly stirring up a bit of trouble in the current alliances - I do think there needs to be a new approach from the traitors by planting more seeds in my opinion instead of the traitors just letting everything go with the flow. Plus I agree further upthread that the traitor role is wasted on Linda.

Allatseas · 09/01/2025 08:40

Linda just agrees with everything her fellow traitor says. She looks like a frightened rabbit generally. I find her annoying .

Sorry that should have read was not manipulative enough. I meant he seemed a really nice guy. Teach me to read what I write. I am glad you spotted it so that I could correct it.

madamegaskell · 09/01/2025 08:50

Agree that Dan and Joe are both deeply unpleasant. Surely it can't be long before they are got rid of.

Joe in particular is whiney, humourless, defensive, all the traits I dislike most in a person.

Other than Minah I don't think there are that many really likeable characters his year?

Lentilweaver · 09/01/2025 08:53

Alexander seems very dignified, and Fozia seems unafraid to call out crap.
Keith was rather charming too but gone too soon.

MrsMitford3 · 09/01/2025 08:56

EVHead · 08/01/2025 22:51

I’m looking forward to the point when I know who’s who. Tonight I was still: “Who the fuck is Anna?” and “Oh I thought Joe and Dan were one person!”

that's so funny-DD and I said we can't tell joe and dan apart at all.

Although Joe is an absolute twat and I quite like Dan.

Anna suddenly being a suspect is hilarious and just shows how hard it is to prove you are innocent when public opinion goes against you.

We were also wondering if Francesca and Freddie were related...

My latest random musing. Minah doesn't mind this as she and Linda knew each other well before Traitors. They are neighbours. They looked so excited to see each other the first night in the turret.

My prediction for tonight - Minah pulls out the shield at breakfast and suggests the traitors may have tried to murder her or the other two who may have had a shield from Alex or Leanne which paints all of them as faithful and also covers up the recruitment.

WinterCosiness · 09/01/2025 09:00

I watched the latest episode in the early hours this morning.
Thread far too long to read all of it. Apologies. But, just to put my opinion out there... I am just not enjoying this series nearly as much. It's got a very real brutality to it that I find distasteful. I know it was never bake-off. But, there's a fine line and I feel it's been crossed.
What they did to the three who left the train (probably three of the most decent by default) was cruel, especially poor Jack 😳.
Also, the way Kas was treated, much like the way Elen was treated (again two of the kindest there) seemed quite bullying.
I don't know. It just has a very different feel to it from the last series, and I'm finding it hard to watch at times. Maybe the reintroduction of Fozia and Alexander might civilise it a bit. I'll try another episode or two before deciding whether to give up on it or not. I was hooked last year...

MrsMitford3 · 09/01/2025 09:01

When you are recruited as a traitor and then get banished can you say you were faithful but recruited or do you have to just say you were just traitor?

I love the way Kas left-gutted about the way he was treated and loved him but glad he was able to give a blow to horrible Joe on his way out the door. That would have been good for his self esteem and showed how silly ppl were being.

You have to say you are a traitor. You can't talk about being recruited. Has happened in other series where a much attacked faithful was recruited and then immediately banished, but she couldnt reveal her recruitment. V frustrating.

MrsMitford3 · 09/01/2025 09:05

Thanks @Lentilweaver that is frustrating and assume for that reason some refuse to be recruited as they want to leave as a Faithful and prove to everyone that they were

Lentilweaver · 09/01/2025 09:07

Well Alex in S 1 UK refused to be recruited and was promptly murdered.
Hope that's ok to say as been two years since that season!

I think there’s a connection between Vicar and Freddie - he kissed her on the cheek as a greeting when she was sitting in one of the armchairs early in the episode and I just can’t see a 20yo lad doing that with a random older lady he met a few days ago. I’ve not seen him do that with any of the other women either. He also kept quietly glancing at her, or at least that is what the editing showed.

I noticed that kiss on the cheek as well. But they haven't shown any of the other contestants talking about suspecting anything so maybe it's nothing.
