Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Kat and Alfie are sweet together in EE especially in the early days , so much chemistry.
I liked today's one , it was like a little play and Elaine and Johnny were great. Love to have Nancy back in it.

I guess rehab isn't cheap or available on the NHS , so not always an option for many though
Hopefully Linda will be a new woman next year

Southeastdweller · 16/12/2024 11:56

I know someone who’s currently in rehab for alcoholism. He’s having it via the NHS, took him just a few months to get approved and he had to jump through several hoops. It’s costing £22K for a six month stay.

South, when it costs that much and hard to access , no wonder so many end up slipping through the nets and carry on drinking.
I Hope ( in this case ) Elaine is paying for it all as Linda deserves the help

NowNumber5 · 16/12/2024 12:35

I wonder if Linda got any pay out from Mick's life insurance policy?
Can't remember if he was legally declared dead-dead, which is more final than 'Eastenders-dead'.
Was the Mick storyline only 2 Christmases ago?
Last year was obviously The Six.

Southeastdweller · 16/12/2024 12:47

I wa surprised to know that there's NHS funding for rehab. He's also having his rent paid for whilst he's in rehab via universal credit.

The Mick missing in the sea story was in 2022 ! Last year was Ken :(

I do vaguely remember a mention of him being declared dead , but people commented online that they need to be missing for seven years before the authorities can issue a death certificate. So not sure really ..
Sharon looked cool in her glasses today
Wherever that church is looks nice
I had forgotten that Jay still owned the funeral parlour! He must run two businesses

Shellingbynight · 16/12/2024 16:40

The episode was a bit ...hmmm... because we knew what was going to happen, and it felt a bit clunky. But it was a neat way of getting more returns (Nancy and Lee). And I liked the inclusion of Johnny turning to drink.

I don't think Linda is any more exhausted than any other long term character. She'll be away for a while and returning sober will refresh her character as it will be a complete change from the past year. She will surely get a romantic relationship too. Please, not Jack. 🤮

Alfie has already rekindled his relationship with Kat, we had the 'man in the moon' reprise several weeks ago.

the80sweregreat · 16/12/2024 16:45

I like Linda to have a new man who isn't Jack or anyone who has been there forever.
Mind you , if the Vic is burnt to a crisp , then all of them will need new homes and a new pub
Hopefully not a pink one , a new colour scheme all round ! Be nice to see it done up a bit.
Nancy did well today I thought
Maybe brought out their inner thespians side instead of soap acting

lazymum99 · 16/12/2024 18:38

Wasn’t Nancy and Lee a singing duo from the early 70s? It sounded familiar when you put them together

Shellingbynight · 16/12/2024 19:01

@lazymum99 Are you thinking of Peters and Lee??

You might be thinking of Peters and Lee, a duo I remember from my 70s childhood or alternatively Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood who recorded together in the late 60s/early 70s Grin

I thought it was a good episode. There was a few bits I wasn't expecting (the sofa scene) and I was surprised they filmed such a graphic death. I thought they'd just do a vague flash forward but they didn't.

Shellingbynight · 16/12/2024 19:32

80s I agree about Nancy, I'm always glad to see her return but they somehow also make me glad to see the back of her after a year - she's a bit full on!

Meredusoleil · 16/12/2024 19:51

I'm so confused! Is Linda actually dead then?

MichaelAndEagle · 16/12/2024 19:56

Kelly Bright is such a good actor isn't she. I'm always blown away by her.

Southeastdweller · 16/12/2024 19:57

I thought the bit where Linda was sexually assaulted was very hard hitting.

I like that Harriet Thorpe has been given more to do lately that reflects her talent.

No, she's not dead.

No, she's not dead.

Yes. Just seen the end. Jumped the gun a bit there 🤦‍♀️

HollyChristmas · 16/12/2024 20:03

I don't think, she was sexually assaulted , it was all part of her dream , if you go back to where she was outside the pub after it had all happened the vodka bottle was still full , so she had never moved from that spot , it was all imagination .

Bunionbabe · 16/12/2024 20:05

Proper Christmas Carol vibes tonight. The Ghost of Christmases to Come showing Linda a way to redemption. .

I know it was part of her dream that she was sexually assaulted (again). I found it powerful because it's what Linda foresaw as it was a probably realistic thing that would have happened if she'd carried on drinking, if you see what I mean.

@Southeastdweller

yes it was very hardhitting .

Shellingbynight · 16/12/2024 21:40

I thought it was a great idea, but not very well done. The scenes with Nancy etc were good, but it just didn't ring true to me that this was what Linda was foreseeing.

I don't know if anyone saw the Netflix drama Bodies last year, but they used the same device of a streetlamp flickering + buzzing noise to indicate a timeshift.

Ficklemind · 17/12/2024 04:42

I was crying nearly all the way through this episode, blooming hell it was good!
After fast forwarding through most of the scenes with Linda in them these last few months when she hit rock bottom it was heart breaking and realistic, the bottle comes first sod everything else and yet....
Love Kellie Bright for her acting, hope it in some way helps those who are going through similar themselves or caring for others who are lost in addiction.

drwitch · 17/12/2024 08:06

Did anyone else notice the flamingos - on her t shirt and then as a brooch on lees jacket
