I saw the Vic online on fire in photographs today online.
Maybe they need to update that set and this is the way forwards for the 40th year?
They hinted at someone dying too
Although it'll probably be someone we have never met before ( or only for a week beforehand! 😆 )

I was just thinking this the other day 80s.

So many characters connected to it have died/murdered/had "accidents", I would definitely get creeped out staying there!

It looks like an old car, suitable for Reiss! I'm not sure how the car caused all that rubble or an explosion, but I guess it'll make sense on the day.

When is Sonia's baby due? She has been gone so long I've lost track!

If Reiss dies no one will ever find Bianca and her bucket. She has been in that garage for about 6 weeks now

Where has all that rubble come from when the Vic itself doesn’t look that damaged? And how could one small car have caused so much chaos?! Anyway, I reckon someone will have driven into the Vic - perhaps Reiss trying to escape the police.

Sonia hasn’t been mentioned in weeks, all of the fundraising for her release has been forgotten. As for Bianca…surely either David or Carol would have contacted someone on the square (Kat for example) to say we haven’t heard from Bianca in over a month. Or wouldn’t any of Bianca’s kids be a bit concerned? Ridiculous.

Good grief I hadn't heard about a fire in the Vic. EE wouldn't be the same without it!

Ginger, in soap land buildings are rebuilt in weeks ! It might do it good to have a makeover

Where will the Knights , the dog and Kojo all go to live ? With Phil ?

Yes. The magic house that will appear from nowhere and they can live together there with their one bag between them all and the dog

With the Vic out of action, the residents will have to go to ' the Albert ' instead to get drunk / have a row , get kicked out, have their weddings and christenings.
I hope it's properly insured as Elaine and George won't be able to pay the various people who work for them otherwise. How will they all live otherwise ?

As one or two of you predicted, Linda decided to go to rehab after having a Christmas carol type flash forward to her funeral. We don’t know yet if Kellie Bright is leaving as the episode ended with Linda and Elaine hugging.

I knew it.....

It’s better she went to rehab than was killed off and leaves it open in case Danny (who won’t return) does return.

I'm glad rehab is the reason she's going. Hope she comes back. Really enjoyed today's episode. Half expected to see Mick turn up. My OH could hear me shouting at the telly from upstairs

The reason people thought Linda was leaving was the leaked funeral scenes, so there doesn't now seem any reason to think she won't return from rehab. She will probably have two or three months in rehab and return Sober Linda, no more sippy cup. Surely though she can't go back to working/living in the pub.

And is Johnny still going to hang around doing no lawyering except for occasional dodgy dealings for Phil?

It wasn't just about the leaked funeral scenes which yes do look inauthentic - I still think Linda is leaving for good. What is there for her to do anymore, she's rather pointless and a spare part on her own pub - but I guess we'll see soon. They put Linda in a corner as soon as it was decided she was the killer. It also wraps up the Six story.

Also - from a producers perspective, what's the point of employing a (very good actor) to tidy wage to play an exhausted character?

You're joking. Alfie has been around for years with such a role. I think there is loads of mileage left in Linda Carter. She's yet to have a romance with Alfie, Phil, Jack, and anyone else I've left out. Don't forget Mick can still return from Davy Jones locker.

Alfie has had a few really long breaks. He's heading for a rekindled relationship soon with Kat, so plenty of potential there for stories for a while, especially because they have kids together.

I love kat and Alfie, always have. I know he was meant to be an arse in real life but his character is sweet , I think they’re a great couple.
