He’s here for the Phil story about Phil’s loneliness. He’s also lied about being kicked out of his house and his marriage ending.

Nigel did overreact somewhat when Harry commented about Cindy in the pub. Maybe it was him who wacked Cindy, although I can't see what motive he would have 🤔 Do they even know each other?

The scene in the pub with Harry and Nigel seemed to just be about getting Nigel to shave because a stranger said what everyone else was thinking - why do you look like a homeless person. Nigel is just so boring though, and I doesn't yet seem to be much help to Phil.

I don't care how Nish dies, as long as he does! They keep these storylines going far too long, not just Nish but invisible Bianca and her bucket. Patsy seemed to say on Insta that she flew home to LA on Christmas Eve so presumably she was filming just before that.

The police (DCI Arthur’s) keep questioning people in crowded places. Pubs and cafes where anyone can listen. He couldn't really stop Harvey sitting with them in the cafe. But Harvey is an idiot lying to the police.
Nigel seems pointless and over sensitive to Harry’s nastiness.
Nish wouldn’t last 2 hours in his condition in an unheated derelict basement. He needs to die. The only one who talks sense these days is Priya.

Yep - I also just had a look and she implied she was working up until the 21st and went to the EE Christmas party that day or a day or two before. I see Michelle Collins was also at the party.

Unless Patsy returns for more filming they won't be bothering to show the repercussions of being imprisoned for months. The Reiss storyline has been shelved so long it is already dead in the water, it's a shame as it was trundling along quite well.

Maybe PP filmed the whole Bianca story before she went back to the US and they will filter it out over a few weeks. Or she will escape and have a flashback to her captivity

Yes I agree, I'm sure she did some extra scenes, but it will still be a fairly brief aftermath. Then they will be onto the next killing 😆

Reiss is shown in tonight's episode, he makes his excuses to Martin and trundles off with an overnight bag. I assumed the bag had supplies for Bianca and that's where he was going.
I always thought they filmed 6 weeks in advance, so anything we are seeing now was filmed around the beginning of November. If Patsy finished filming 21st December, then that episode would roughly be shown around the 40th anniversary.

Noticed today that Nigel got confused and call Phil 'Grant' so I reckon we will find out in the NY that he has some kind of degenerative brain condition, early onset Dementia or similar.

Loved that Tracey got a line tonight, knocking back Zack lol.

The dodgy doctor looks so much like killer Gray, it is really unsettling!

The Nish actor must be so bored having to stumble around grasping his chest and whispering "I don't wanna die alone" to Nugget in that dank basket for weeks on end. They have just dragged this SL on for so long that all the tension around what he will or won't do to Suki and Eve has gone.

Re Nigel Bates backstory: he was an old school friend of the Mitchell brothers - principally Grant, I think. He was seen as a loser and softy, so Grant and Phil took him under their wing and looked out for him. As far as I remember, his wife (Debbie) died in an RTA. Her ex (Liam? Father of her daughter, Claire) was an abusive, wife-beating bully but Nigel managed to get custody of Claire after Debbie died. He started seeing Julie, who was Claire's teacher, and who was a single mum to a son. Julie got offered a teaching job in Scotland (Edinburgh, maybe?), so the four of them moved up there. Nigel was never heard of again, other than when Claire mentioned him when she moved back down to Walford as a manipulative, bitchy gold-digger a few years later (in contrast to the sweet girl she had been before).
