I agree. Interview the finalists and the wimners and do a sort of finale.

<<warming to my theme>>
None of the 'losing' finalists get to give a thank-you speech to their partners/the judges/hair and make-up, or say congrats publicly to the winner. It's such an anticlimax.
I remember the Bill Bailey interview where he said as soon as they switch off the cameras, someone comes on with a bin bag and takes the trophy off you and shoves it in the bag Grin

MagdaLenor · 12/12/2024 16:45

Yes, that should definitely happen.

Mymanyellow · 12/12/2024 17:45

I agree a final ITT on the Monday. We then get to hear from the runners up.

Sunbird24 · 12/12/2024 18:39

Nice little paso masterclass with Shirley and Kai

LushLemonTart · 12/12/2024 18:42

I'm just watching ITT now. Nice seeing Shirley dance.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 12/12/2024 19:01

I'm watching ITT and am amazed at 62 10's having been given out this series, and we've not even had the final yet!

True, Craig is the one that keeps it running. If he ever leaves, that’s the show over for me. He’s the only one with consistent and fair voting. The other 3 are all over the place in accordance to who their favs are.

However, I hate that they’ve declawed Craig and make him wrap up his criticism with a positive comment lobbed on at the end. I miss the days when if you danced like a sack of potatoes, you were told you danced like a sack of potatoes. Now he’ll had on at the end ‘but it was danced with passion and commitment to character and I’ve seen a great improvement from week 1”

No participation trophies please!

I'm not keen on the fact that Motsi and Shirley keep interrupting Craig's comments by screeching. Never used to happen with the other judges. Darcy would just give him 'The look' but keep quiet!
I won't watch if Craig goes, I already get bored a few weeks after Halloween week.

I guess it's like the winner of the DO each week doesn't get to say how pleased they are to get through, or talk about their next week's dance etc.

Well, they do on ITT the following week! Agree that there should be a last ITT after the final so everybody gets chance to have their say/thank everyone.

Yes, absolutely , the Monday programme starts with them and there's a visual tribute to their "journey" and many thanks are exchanged.
It would be nice if the finalists could complete the series like this.

EvilRingahBitch · 13/12/2024 08:28

One year they had a post finale red button episode up in the Clauditorium with a quick debrief with the finalists and Zoe (I think it was Zoe?). It was quite nice but they never did it again, I'm guessing no one watched it, or maybe the programme makers and participants just wanted to get on with the wrap up/head down the pub.

I'm guessing in Bill Bailey's year they couldn't go out to a bar afterwards so that probably added to the sense of anticlimax.

No, but I think they do on ITT don't they? (I do't watch it any more but seem to remember that from when I did).

MarkWithaC · 13/12/2024 10:39

Oops, sorry, hammered out my post above without realising that other people had had that discussion already!

That sounds good. I think a lot of people don't have red button though, or don't realise things are on it, so don't watch them, so they think 'well, no one watched it, so why bother?' and it becomes a Catch-22!

FagsMagsandBags · 13/12/2024 14:59

They really should have an ITT special after the final. I was going to suggest on the Sunday evening but there's probably a few sore heads then! They could have an hour long special on the Monday with the three runners up getting a chance to look back at their time on the show, a look back at the series as a whole maybe with a judge or two, funny moments and then the winner gets their chance to look back and get all the big praise for being the champion. I'd watch it.

Bowednotbroken · 13/12/2024 20:17

It Takes Two was nice tonight, all four finalists featured and interviewed. Unusually I'm not really bothered who wins. I've been a fan of Sarah's from the beginning, but gave enjoyed Chris so much, and JB is excellent. Even Tasha I feel sorry for so wouldn't be too upset if the ringer won. However, the bookies are expecting Chris aren't they!

Redcrayons · 13/12/2024 20:48

I always try to watch the Friday ITT specially before the final. A lovely show tonight, I’m sure they’re all aware that Chris is the favourite.

It’s been a long autumn, September seems like years ago. I have no recollection of Tom at all and I’d completely forgotten Toyah was in this series.

xsquared · 13/12/2024 20:55

They interviewed some of the contestants who left early in the competition, but they also left a few out, which seems strange.

They were in rehearsal for the group dance. I did wonder what happened to Paul Merson and Nick Knowles, if they couldn't take part for some reason.

Just rewinded to the roving reporter bits and for some reason I completely missed Shane but still managed to see Punam and Montell in the same shot!

I hope Nick is okay from his injury and can make an appearance in some way. Maybe it was Paul's turn again to do the child care.

Isn't it funny how Pete, Jamie and Wynne have become such good friends! I liked the story of them going to a nightclub and doing a rumba!

I seem to remember reading something about Nick needing an op and not being able to take part in final but I not aware of having seen anything about Paul.

I'm at work tonight 😞 but finish at 10 so will watch catch up. Working tomorrow late too but will do the same. I'll have to avoid my phone.

ThePoshUns · 14/12/2024 11:06

Won't the result be tonight not tomorrow?
