"What is wedgie?" 😂

Tasha is stronger in the ballroom, so I am looking forward to her Sing Sing Sing show dance, which I think will be very big band and quick steppy.

I am a little disappointed that judges chose her CC to repeat in the final though.

JB and Lauren's VW is a little bit too recent in my opinion as a dance to improve on. It would have been more interesting for him to redo an Amy dance, but maybe they didn't think it was fair on Lauren to learn a new dance? I feel bad for Amy, because it's like she's been forgotten in the partnership. For that reason, I think it would be awkward for her if he won with Lauren.

True, Craig is the one that keeps it running. If he ever leaves, that’s the show over for me. He’s the only one with consistent and fair voting. The other 3 are all over the place in accordance to who their favs are.

However, I hate that they’ve declawed Craig and make him wrap up his criticism with a positive comment lobbed on at the end. I miss the days when if you danced like a sack of potatoes, you were told you danced like a sack of potatoes. Now he’ll had on at the end ‘but it was danced with passion and commitment to character and I’ve seen a great improvement from week 1”

No participation trophies please!

I’m sure I read that this was to be Craig’s last series, but he must have changed his mind. Or they begged him to stay.

Noooooooooo!

He literally is strictly for me. He’s the backbone and integrity of the show. All the silliness etc is fine, but you need someone to actually do their job. The other 3 judges just use the time to draw attention to themselves, he actually does his job. Starting to sound like Roy Keane here!

If he goes, the show is over I feel.

dapsnotplimsolls · 10/12/2024 19:58

Thank you for the list. I think the one I'm most looking forward to is the Motown Medley.

ChessieFL · 10/12/2024 20:01

I’m looking forward to Tasha’s showdance as I love Sing Sing Sing.

FagsMagsandBags · 10/12/2024 20:02

I like the music for all of the show dances and I think we could be up for four good ones this year.

I think that couples choice should be banned from being chosen as a final's dance by either the couple or the judges.

dapsnotplimsolls · 10/12/2024 20:03

Cabaret could also be interesting - maybe she won't spend all the time in the air with that song?

Runningupthecurtains · 10/12/2024 20:03

@FagsMagsandBags I would stop your last sentence at banned!

BogRollBOGOF · 10/12/2024 21:00

It looks like it's going to be an interesting final with some variety.

Mymanyellow · 10/12/2024 22:19

Motown Medley sounds right up my alley.
Looking forward to the final now. We’ve got the right final four I think. Should be a good one. It’s Chris’ to lose.

EvilRingahBitch · 10/12/2024 23:08

dapsnotplimsolls · 10/12/2024 20:03

I'm pleased to hear she's doing Cabaret. Sarah ought by rights to excel at Fosse-style but the choreography for her couple's choice totally overshadowed her behind the backing dancers and Vito, and I don't think that One Dance To The Tune Of Another worked either.

Good to see her getting a second chance.

Awwww the last thread of SCD 2024 probably.

Nah Will easily fill this one and then a final thread!

WHY is JB’s wife at every bloody rehearsal? Fair play to Lauren for putting up with it.

And why do they keep saying she's a dancer too? Not like she can come on and take over if JB is a bit shit. (He's not, he's fab!)

Mind you, if my hubby was dancing with gorgeous stunning talented Lauren, I'd want to make sure he remembered he was married too Wink

xsquared · 10/12/2024 23:29

Is she at every rehearsal though? Maybe just the ones they broadcast for the VTs? I don't know.

I thought JB met Chloe when she was a backing dancer at X Factor for something? Anyway, I think she is probably more of a dancer than he is/was at the time.

AlexaSetATimer · 10/12/2024 23:31

FagsMagsandBags · 07/12/2024 20:08

Great tune, sexy but was he dancing? Nope, not really.

I'm pissed off with this bollocks of "it's not about steps" and "It doesn't matter if you get things wrong" to one dancer and then another gets told they're too heavy or their transitions are wrong. I'm not saying the latter shouldn't be said but fuck off with the "steps don't matter", well if they don't then why have a dance competition.

This is all just so much bullshit.

I agree.

I like Pete, he brought some personality to an otherwise fairly dull year, but the judges were tumbling over themselves to make sure they stay popular with the Pete voters - I bet because they didn't want a social media backlash from the younger social media whizz kids who've supported Pete.

Except Craig who doesn't give a fuck and said it like it was, not great at all, good for him.

And yeah I totally agree with the comment on the last thread about Motsi saying she wished for something special to hand out - that's what the 10 is for. That's why Craig's 10 is so much more valued than yours when you've give it out in Week 4 or whatever. Ridiculous over marking will kill this show's credibility soon.

AlexaSetATimer · 10/12/2024 23:48

CousinBob · 08/12/2024 00:12

Did anyone else pick up on Anton suggesting that it was Pete’s last dance?

Yes, thought that was clumsy by him. And will give fuel to the "it's a fix" idea. Which isn't unreasonable.
I did wonder if the producers would dump Pete in the DO this week no matter what the votes, to avoid giving him any chance of the Final Win. But he's out whatever.

AlexaSetATimer · 10/12/2024 23:49

dollybird · 07/12/2024 23:38

JB dances of the night for me by a long way, but I did actually enjoy Tasha's waltz.

Same.

JB was phenomenal! Both dances.

But I loved that waltz, it was perfection, and did make me cry a little. Just the sheer gorgeousness of it all. Aljaz is so good at those, she's beautiful, it flowed exquisitely, it did genuinely move me on Saturday night. Loved it.

AlexaSetATimer · 11/12/2024 00:07

Johndoeskellington · 08/12/2024 19:32

The public don't like Tasha clearly.

I actually admire her so much for not going for the continual "sob story" angle about her deafness. It's like she's refused to make that the defining feature of her story on ScD when they could have easily played it up for sympathy votes.

She doesn't hear the music well, so what she is doing is brilliant. Not as brilliant as Chris, but still a real achievement.

AlexaSetATimer · 11/12/2024 00:12

NigelHarmansNewWife · 08/12/2024 19:40

The hate for Sarah on here is horrible. I'm a similar age to her and I'm in awe of her energy and skill. And I like her.

I don't hate her but I find her rather smug and annoying. Her socials with Vito are cringey. The sniffing shoes comment didn't sit well with me - if a male celeb said that about a female pro, there would be uproar.

I have never voted for her. That's not hate. Just an opinion. (And I'm very fond of Vito, and voted for him and Ellie loads last year).

AlexaSetATimer · 11/12/2024 00:13

Johndoeskellington · 08/12/2024 19:40

Thank you

Is it shameful to admit I love Craig?

He's the most sensible judge. Yes harsh sometimes but at least he's not chucking out 10's in week 3 or so.

AlexaSetATimer · 11/12/2024 00:21

Johndoeskellington · 08/12/2024 20:04

Aljaz used to be the Vito of the show - the energy of a Labrador puppy. That seems to have gone from him, what's happened?

Parenthood? Grin

AlexaSetATimer · 11/12/2024 00:47

xsquared · 09/12/2024 23:30

Final dances - Couple's favourite.

JB and Lauren: Samba
Chris and Dianne: Waltz - You never walk alone
Sarah and Vito - Cha Cha Cha - Like a prayer
Tasha and Aljiaz - American Smooth

I am surprised Sarah and Vito chose their CCC from Icons' week. It means she will have to wear that awful outfit and wig again! She's had far better dances than that!

Oh, and how can I forget those PVC trousers on Vito! They don't suit anyone!

Edited

Yes I was surprised by Sarah and Vito choosing the cha cha cha, I thought it was one of their weaker dances.

FagsMagsandBags · 11/12/2024 00:55

That, it being relatively weak, might be why they chose it because they feel they can really improve on it? I respect them for not going for an obvious crowd pleaser but I'm also glad that both Chris and especially JB are going for previous dances that I really loved.
