Although the BBC have made a huge mistake in taking away our show, Classic Doctors is shown on U.

Two episodes are available daily, and are also on the app but are removed after a certain amount of time. Earlier episodes can be found on YouTube.

Gobby plod has just turned up as a cop in a really old episode of the Bill I am watching on U.

Just seen him in season 1 on Eden!

I’ve been holding off watching the final few episodes. Caved this weekend when I had the house to myself.
perfect. Some of it felt rushed to get the story wrapped up and I felt dr Elton was definitely a metaphor for the bbc execs that pulled the plug. Ultimately, perfect.

i was also catching up on the old episodes and happened to watch the last episode and the opening of the mill on the same day. Felt right and sad at the same time.

I was watching series 2. I think I do remember him from 1 too.

BourbonsAreOverated · 25/01/2025 09:43

The office style filming makes me smile

Raahh · 25/01/2025 09:47

I have been re-watching 'Silent Witness' from the start (to remind myself it used to be good Grin) and Rob Hollins turned up in an episode as a helicopter engineer in around series 4 - 1999 ish. Looked very young. Grin.

He’s just popped up on an old episode of casualty. Is there anything he hasn’t been in?

LIZS · 30/01/2025 10:28

He's in today's classic Casualty on drama, 2004

Raahh · 31/01/2025 21:17

On my repeat viewings of SW- I'm now up to series 9, (2005) and Karen has made an appearance.

It's amazing how many famous names started on that, bit like Doctors. Grin.

Raahh · 02/02/2025 18:19

Today, Dido Miles (Emma ) turned up in Silent Witness. At least she didn't end up dead this time (which she did in the episode of 'Wire in the Blood' I saw in her in. Grin).

I’ve finally found time to start listening to Elisabeth Dermot Walsh’s podcasts, Chicken Soap For The Soul.
I’ve listened to the first two, Rosie and then Scarlett, and they’re a really interesting listen.

Well on classic Doctors Ben and his son Nathan have left to go travelling, leaving the path clear to introduce a new doctor. Who can it be??

BourbonsAreOverated · 12/02/2025 13:11

Stereophonics was the clue wasn’t it!!

I am really enjoying the older ones as a snapshot of issues at the time, like fathers for justice, assisted dying, burglars and force allowed. All big news stories at the time

Pebbles16 · 12/02/2025 13:24

Jimmy was SO young when he started!

MadisonAvenue · 18/02/2025 01:07

Well, it seems Doctors was ahead of the game, Labour are rolling out VPAS visits!

Health workers will be sent house to house to cut sick leave

Raahh · 07/04/2025 14:56

Blimey. I can't even get an actual appointment face to face where I live. Let alone home visits!!

😂

Now we just need the GP popping in a couple of times a day to fix your health issue and making random unscheduled home visits.

BourbonsAreOverated · 09/04/2025 09:16

Love this!!

I have to admit the old ones have become as much a part of my life as the new ones were.
i love them covering what were current issues of the day and I miss how good the doctors and the service the nhs could provide was!
