What a sorry bunch of mis-matches this series. Bring back 'The Farmer Wants A Wife'

Or even Blind Date.

TriangleLight · 05/11/2024 22:48

Big gym bros like Luke are always plagued by self doubt. I do a lot of weight training and you see it all the time

Yes! I loved this, both versions

I want to hear from the abusive ex. Provided that there actually is one, because at this point, I am starting to doubt her existence.

Me too.

Tittat50 · 05/11/2024 22:50

I want to hear from Ross' ex and Gaston's.

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/11/2024 22:52

I've never seen the NZ version - is it any good?

TurquoiseBear · 05/11/2024 22:53

OnTheBoardwalk · 05/11/2024 22:17

I'm a bit behind but the Ross and Sasha interview made me really uncomfortable and the well done comment from the shite I experts was wrong, just wrong

I’m late with tonight’s one too.
Fucking hell - the ixperts “well done, you can do this, you can fight for this”
FFS. It’s bloody awful. Poor Sacha. She should be given appropriate support, Ross removed along with those utterly crap (non)experts.

TriangleLight · 05/11/2024 20:42

This is so funny! I’ve literally just seen him.. confused

Does he look like Gaston?

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/11/2024 21:01

Gawd, it's a long one. I might have to mute all the KK torture.

An hour and a half?! 😱

TurquoiseBear · 05/11/2024 23:03

Kristina annoyed the hell out if me to on the hen do. But I think she’s fab now. Really genuine and a bit bonkers!
Kieran is just a massive pillock.

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/11/2024 23:03

Twitter is very much hating Amy and loving Kristina. As it should be.

PerfectYear321 · 05/11/2024 23:04

Amy has such a potty mouth. I like a good swear word, but it's not appropriate when you're angry with your partner. Telling him to fuck off in front of your friends is divorce-worthy behaviour

FourForYouGlenCoco1 · 05/11/2024 21:17

Mel has taken fashion advice from Sasha 👀

Hahaha, I think Mel has looked gorgeous this series.Yes, the outfits have been 'striking', but she pulls them off.

Edit: just seen the dress 💀😂

TriangleLight · 05/11/2024 21:18

Bloody hell, it’s tits ago go tonight

🤣

murasaki · 05/11/2024 23:15

Just caught up. I think Sacha grew up in a fists first family, and big apologies, so is used to it. Which is depressing. And makes me wonder whether Mumma Ming joining the gym was an action of self preservation. But she'd learned, and tried to leave this shit show as the Ming parentals kicking off was in a longer term relationship, and she didn't want to start one that way. She should have stuck to her guns re her leave, but is used to the make up stuff so did that.

Tittat50 · 05/11/2024 23:17

@murasaki I was wondering the same.

BenditlikeBridget · 05/11/2024 23:19

I laughed out loud at Luke basically saying Amy’s face no longer moves. 😁

I found the Sasha/Ross bit sad and angering and a bit scary. She is definitely a brawler but he ADMITTED throwing stuff. That should surely be game over, off you go, no more MAFS for you.

KK- sigh. I just don’t know. They seemed so right for each other at the start, and they’re both fairly niche in that sense! Did we actually ever SEE much evidence of this all consuming PMDD? She has always seemed pretty level headed and considerate to me!

Jessiebessie · 05/11/2024 23:31

I think Kieran felt unable to reveal how difficult things were with Kristina's PMDD & her emotional support needs (which I suspect were a lot to deal with) because he didn't want to be disloyal to her or come across as unkind. He wants to be the good guy and avoid any criticism but talking around it & blaming other stuff left everyone confused & made him look like a dick.

NerdWhoEatsMedlar · 05/11/2024 23:32

Luke - don't lie unless it is about Amy's face or the mold.

LivelyMintViper · 05/11/2024 23:53

Karen saying that Kristina is only different from his ex in that she is outgoing. So he thinks she is likely to cheat on him or insist he sits out in the car for hours at a time before allowing him to come in? What I find especially irritating about the experts is that nothing is ever really challenged or resolved

BetterInColour · 06/11/2024 00:00

I have spotted the aggressive and problematic males from the start.

Alex was so obviously scary from Day One, with his gaslighting, scowling, aggression, just in every way not a suitable partner for a single mum with three kids. He should have been removed from the experiment immediately when Holly said she dreaded saying things to him in private and said them in public to protect herself.

Ross took a bit more time to show, as he has a gentle giant persona, but Sasha was saying that after the ring throwing incident in her flat, and I'm guessing others, she didn't want to be up in Manchester when Ross had a temper tantrum and she'd be left alone. So the revelations today were very much more down that line. It is abuse, and should have led to his immediate removal from the experiment too.

Ryan's temper showed in relation to Steven, his eyes flashed and I thought I would not like to be alone with a jealous angry man. True enough, he was, and was removed from the experiment.

The MAFS team need to reflect on a) why the experts cannot spot abuse and emotional coercion and even encourage it by asking the women to see their own part in it. Both Holly and Sasha actually showed a hell of a lot more boundaries and maturity by rejecting the expert's 'come on, you are bad too' narrative and asserting they didn't have to live like this, probably as they have already experienced abuse, Holly had and Sacha's family look 'lively' and b) why there are so many abusive men in this show, and whether picking very well built men on steroids is serving the right type of husbands.

The show fails to recognise abuse and lacks a of duty of care and I think it will be eventually stopped for this reason.

VivienneDelacroix · 06/11/2024 00:03

Tittat50 · 05/11/2024 22:34

It's going to be very triggering and upsetting for many women, what with Alex adoration on Fbook and then this with Ross. The ixperts are moronic.

What would Oz John say 🤔

To be fair John kept on making excuses for that complete tosser and woman-hater Mike in the Heidi and Mike relationship. He consistently gas-lit Heidi into thinking she had done something wrong to deserve Mike's abusive behaviour.

Tittat50 · 06/11/2024 00:11

Ah did he. Oh John, not good.

I can't remember in all honesty as nothing has stood out as much to me as this series.

I wonder if there will be a memo for all future ixperts after this series.
