Just binge-watched S3. What a ride!

Just watched episode 2 and my thoughts are it was a kind of interpretation of a Christmas Carol. With Henry's father the ghost of Christmas past, the vicar as the ghost of Christmas future and im still trying to work out who was the ghost of Christmas present!

The scene where Henry came running and calling for yasmin at the end cemented it for me, it was pure scrooge on Christmas morning (half expected him to shout "what day is it?!"

My other thoughts on this one was the aesthetic and mood was very Overlook hotel in The Shining. Down to Yas peeking at doors and witnessing sinister sexual goings on. I think they were really trying to hint at the dark underbelly of the wealth in this one.

Loved it, maybe my favourite episode so far. Really clever.

True, but I think she's so messed up that she will never be truly happy. Her family were vile - her aunt dismisses incest as "a bohemian childhood" and then more or less says her father only let her be born so that he could groom her. I do wonder if she will later remember that he abused her too. Anything was possible with him.

As an aside, I hadn't seen Claire Forlani in anything for years. I know Meet Joe Black was her big break, but I remember her from Press Gang days!

Just remembered Otto telling Yas's aunt that she had "a better mouth" than her brother. I presume he was speaking figuratively but in those circles you never know!

I think I need the watch series 3 again, but I thought we more or less knew that Yas had been abused by her father? It would certainly explain why she thinks her only value lies in how fuckable men find her.

Emotionally yes, and he got physically abusive on the yacht. And Yas said something about they way his friends looked at her.

In the final episode of S3, the woman who was in 'that' scene at the start was given a job by Yas at the Mucky Mansion. She asked Yas if her Dad had ever done anything, told her she was 'seen' and gave her a hug. Yas hugged her back then walked off and told the butler to sack her. I think that was the key indication that Charles had abused Yas.

Wow, episode 2 was incredible. Very dark and requires all the trigger warnings going, but deeply moving television.

That wasn't what I was expecting. Very good. I'm not sure watching weekly is working all that well for me, I had actually forgotten who Whitney was. He and Muck are going to be a car crash combo aren't they.

I was surprised that there was an element of love portrayed between Yasmin and Henry. It seemed really clear at the end of the last series that it was a marriage of convenience. Yasmin's face when he suggested that they have a child though...

Yes I was a bit surprised when Yasmin and Henry were going on about how much they loved each other because I recall Yasmin wasn’t that enthusiastic about the wedding in the last series.

Well today’s episode doesn’t disappoint on the bonk count 😂

I was very tempted to watch early this morning - but am saving it for the end of my train journey tonight.

I just don’t understand Yasmin sometimes.

My dh has explained it again and again and I just don’t get it! I am not economically illiterate- I have a first in Economic History- but it makes no sense how you can make money like that!

I really want to know what happened to Rishi - I think he said something in episode 1 about not being able to get a licence again and Sweetpea had a pretty visceral reaction to him.
