Just binge-watched S3. What a ride!

Anyone else had a look yet?

I thought they were looking at a female!

This is going to be a challenging series for me.

As Trump plays in the distance, more voices off camera make jokes at his expense, with one saying: “I heard when he ends up at the bunker he shouts ‘fake news,’ and the ball disappears,” and another adding: “I heard he loves playing with Tiger Woods because it makes him feel like a civil rights hero.”

From an article I saw online - think you need to switch subtitles on to get the full effect!

While I absolutely LOVE Industry, S4E1 is a stark reminder of why I don’t typically go around recommending people watch it 🤣

I work in finance, albeit not investment banking, and just about manage to keep up with the jargon. It must be near impossible for those who don’t know any of the lingo?! Kudos to you all!

I quite enjoy being befuddled!

Is there a new thread for series 4?

Christmaseree · 15/01/2026 08:44

I watched it and thought there was more bonking than banking.

Not sure if there’s a thread for S4 but Industry S4: More Bonking than Banking would be the perfect thread title!

I don’t think it’s any different to watching Billions etc? I quite enjoy watching workplaces different to ones I’ve worked in, but frankly is just as misogynistic and has awful behaviour 😆

I’ve asked MNHQ to amend the title so it’s clear S4 is included. Plus the excellent thread title suggestion 😉

Not watched today's episode yet but does anyone else find it odd that Industry is so highly acclaimed and well-reviewd, yet has won hardly any awards?

I think a TV BAFTA win for Marisa Abela was about it but surely she and Myhala should get Best Actress nominations at the Emmys or Golden Globes? And Ken Leung for Supporting Actor? I'm surprised HBO haven't thrown their considerable weight behind the show during awards season.

Netaporter · 19/01/2026 14:40

I’ve just watched today’s episode which is very hard going and a warning that it is very dark containing themes of suicide. It is not light-hearted at all…I know shows like to explore characters but frankly I watch it for entertainment and this week (with the exception of the last 5 minutes which made sense of it all) it really wasn’t the episode for me.

Agree that more awards should be given to it and the cast.

I’ve decided to wait until they’ve all dropped and then binge the whole series in one go. I found last week’s episode quite complex so the chances of me remembering it all from the week before are low.

Well, I’m not sure I could say I enjoyed Ep 2 today. Not because of the themes - more the direction.

It seemed out of sequence, so people who knew each other appeared not to. Etc.

Also I watched it on a vast TV screen with poor sound quality. May try again on my phone, so I can actually catch every remark.

dapsnotplimsolls · 19/01/2026 19:45

I'm glad I read the posts on here first so I was prepared. Very grim! Yas wasn't impressed with his comment at the end!

Edited

I had to put subtitles on for the last few minutes. Great episode, though. I like grim.

I actually thought this outfit was a bit OTT and didn't chime with Harpers personality to date. I just don't see a 30y old who has got where she is as new breed tech bro type in casual or bare minimum clothes suddenly wearing that outfit or those heels.

The outfit I did like was Whitney dressed as old school English country gent in old style Barbour. IME that is exactly what the incoming rich American men do - try and be a caricature of the English.

CONTAINS SPOILERS OF EPISODE 2

Episode 2 was very dark. We now know why Henry is the way he is. i found it odd in several places: no one batted an eyelid (apart from Jas) at his behaviour of the dinner party. Again, no one stepped in or batted an eyelid when he beat the lad in the pub to a pulp. The epiphany and 'healing' when he comes out of the garage....the strange conversation with the priest (was he a real priest or another figment of his imagination?) The creepy uncle at the window watching at the end....

This all segues nicely to him now going to work with Whitney which can only lead to more trouble.

I was confused by the woman who was 'pleasuring' Otto. Was she Jas' aunt? Did she imply she had an incestuous relationship with Jas' dad?

My take on this episode, was that Henry had taken LSD or some other form of hallucinogen and therefore some of the scenes that we saw were figments of his imagination… Possibly figures from the past coming back to haunting such as the priest? I’m not entirely sure that he really did beat the maids boyfriend to a pulp in the pub either.

Yes, that wasYas’ aunt and yes, it was implied that they she had had an incestuous relationship with her brother.

After re-watching the episode on my phone I can now say it’s a masterpiece. And well worth a second viewing.

Also I have an awful feeling that I might be falling in love with Whitney. 🙄 It’s his stillness. And the incisiveness of his observations. He’s certainly not kind. Or savoury.

Hallucinations from the drugs would def make sense.

Bloody hell @ the aunt..Jas' family is so f**ked up

Tophelleborine · 20/01/2026 22:01

God I'm so glad Yas was a central character this week. I love her so much; she's so damaged and complex. The bollocking she gave Henry was a thing of wonder. What a sad, sad mess. I'm still hoping Rob is going to appear at some point and take her somewhere she can be poor and happy (ridiculous I know).

dapsnotplimsolls · 20/01/2026 22:16

I miss Rob.

KillingMeDeftIy · 20/01/2026 22:19

Rob is best off without Yasmin, she is far too toxic!
