You wouldn’t necessarily need notice of the meeting but she should have had 10 days to review the offer and not had HR breathing down her neck

Agenoria · 08/06/2025 18:44

It does irritate me when people's brakes fail on TV, they never once seem to think of going down the gears or pulling on the handbrake.

Wasn't it the accelerator jammed? But yes, changing gears, trying brakes, it could all have helped.

Jan said something about the accelerator jamming after the accident but Indie said the brakes weren't working just before the crash so who knows. I mean this is Casualty after all! They had to work on the heart attack woman in the carpark because the doors to the hospital were blocked by the ambulance because obva hospital will only have one set of doors to go in and out.

spiderlight · 08/06/2025 19:23

Our accelerator jammed down once, just as we started heading downhill towards a major roundabout. Bloody terrifying. DH managed to get his toe under it and force it back up though.

To be fair, I've been to more than one hospital in the last year, either as visitor or outpatient, and double door entrances do often seem to be set quite distant from each other.

WhatICallMyUsername · 08/06/2025 20:06

We did also notice that when Flynn got in the ambulance to move it the handbrake was on!

Michiamo · 08/06/2025 22:16

I do find Flynn really hot 🔥

anyone else??

purpleme12 · 08/06/2025 22:30

He's not for me

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2025 02:33

Another crash into the hospital. I thought he was going to be a gonner like martin in ee

bjt seems he survived being squashed by ambulance

headphones gave the brother confidence to talk no stammer

bad crab

glad claire reliesed her dad was a perve but shame she won’t forgive Flynn

thi where will he go if new job isn’t there any more

shame no one in the room backed rida but she got their support eventually

£33k is a nurse salary

assume she keeps her job but hopefully gets some kind of payout

indie does annoy me as too cocky tho obv not her fault brake or what pedal wasn’t working

did she tell Jan about the robbery being her dad - it was hinted

and why did Nicole react like that ?

was it the lying ? Or sue to surrogate friend /wheelchair possible drunk driver /Nicole

can’t R.E.M. why she felt so guilt and was her surrogate

after being with an alcoholic I would be the same as Nicole - but I have reasons. Maybe she does

can’t do the lying

FagsMagsandBags · 09/06/2025 22:12

Nicole is a good and kind person so there must be some big reason for her to react like that and I guess we'll find out soon.

Looking back at the archs so far this year, I think we've had one for each of the original four new cohorts of young nurses one of whom, whose name escapes me, left after being attacked, Cameron, Jodie and now Rida. I was looking up character names and they all first appeared on the same night 8th April 2023, Welcome to the Warzone. Within those stories we've had secondary stories of other young/new characters like Indie this time round and I know Tariq left when Flinn arrived but had his secondary story being played out when Jodie's was still going on? There have definitely been other things going but each of the young nurses has had a big storyline now. I'm guessing/hoping that Ngozi and Nicole with added Dylan for his AA support will be the next story we see. And maybe Iain and Faith splitting up when she gets back on the old diazepam.

spiderlight · 09/06/2025 23:14

Ryan was the nurse who was attacked.

I think you're right that it will be an Ngozi/Nicole/Dylan arc next. Hopefully mostly Dylan!

Doubleraspberry · 10/06/2025 07:01

Dylan was a big part of Jodie’s story. Not that I wouldn’t love to see more of him in the next one.

WhatICallMyUsername · 10/06/2025 09:43

Iain, Faith, Flynn, Ngozi and Nicole are all mentioned on the write up for Saturday. I wouldn’t mind an Iain storyline if it didn’t involve Faith or killed her off

daffodilandtulip · 11/06/2025 08:10

spiderlight · 08/06/2025 17:13

I'm not sure. Obviously she breached the NDA but I'm sure I heard Jodie say 'At least you get to keep your job'. I guess we'll find out next week.

The actress has posted a goodbye type post on her personal Instagram.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2025 08:11

Oh so she's actually left!

bizzey · 11/06/2025 08:21

Ohh what a shame 😕.
I have had some medical issues/procedures in the last few months ...
I would have absolutely loved to have had a lovely nurse like Rida to be by my side and support me .

(Ok ok ...I know it is not all real and stuff..but she was just so wonderfully soothing !)

Oldglasses · 11/06/2025 09:59

Oh, I thought Rida would have stayed now Russell was 'outed'. What a vile piece of work he was.
Rida is an amazing nurse, I hope there are some like her IRL!
Indie is so annoying - 'letting' her father burgle Jan who has been nothing but kindness to her.
Was also shocked re Nicole's reaction. Poor Ngozi. I can't belive Nicole had completely 'missed' the fact that Ngozi didn't touch alcohol for the time they were together and Nicole didn't notice - booze is everywhere (I don't drink for other reasons).

purpleme12 · 11/06/2025 10:03

I was kind of expecting her to stay too

NorthernGirl1981 · 11/06/2025 10:06

What an explosive episode! The best episode in ages!!!

I thought Rida was so brave when she walked into Russell’s party and told everyone what he was like. I wish other people had backed her, but at the same time her saying all that with no support behind her just made her come across as even stronger!

When Rida, Cam and Jodie were on the roof having their moment about how Rida ha won the battle I thought that was going to be the end of the episode and it was all going to be lovely…

…..but then we had the AWFUL Ngozi and Nicole scene! Nicole was absolutely horrible, really nasty. Ok, be pissed if at Ngozi but to throw her out and put her out on the street knowing she also has a young boy is unforgivable!!! When she said, “Not my problem” in relation to Ngozi raising the issue of Obi not having anywhere to live, well that was it for me. How can anyone be so callous to a little child.

I have always liked Nicole but I can’t get over her nasty, nasty reaction. I hope Ngozi never, ever tries to get back with Nicole as how could she want to be with someone who doesn’t care about kicking her young son out and making him homeless.

I know it’s not real but it was awful.

ThatsNotMyTeen · 11/06/2025 10:50

Yes Nicole was awful. Poor Ngozi. Bit of a cheek to be so unsupportive - addiction is an illness - when Ngozi not only supported Nicole through her illness but it may well have been that which triggered Ngozi to start drinking again

Doubleraspberry · 11/06/2025 11:15

Nicole just suddenly shut down and I took it to be a sign that she'd had a really hard time with an alcoholic before and couldn't go through anything like that again so had to just cut Ngozi out there and then. That felt like the only reason she'd react like that.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2025 11:47

That's got to be the reason

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2025 20:06

I feel the same

and I’ve been there and tbh I prob /possibly would react the same

tho

i also would have noticed they never drank in the 2/3yrs together /friends esp as they always seem to go to the pub after shift so I wouid have asked do you drink months ago

daffodilandtulip · 12/06/2025 07:57

Yes there's definitely going to be some history there. I guess once you've been through it, you know you can't do it again.
