I really didn't think they'd make Rich die

Michiamo · 22/02/2025 22:47

Holby International Airport 🤣🤣🤣

Remember when this show used to have a special effects budget?

We'd have seen that plane crash in all its glory!

And really, Holby International Airport? Although now I mention it, I do remember an airport bombing at one point, with Mads Durrani and Adam Trueman. It's been the bus station for departures ever since...

I wonder if it got toned down due to recent plane crashes in the news.

spiderlight · 22/02/2025 23:42

"We'd have seen that plane crash in all its glory!"

Back in the day, the episode would have started with one of the families leaving for the airport. Either that or the plane would have crashed through the doors of the ED.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 23/02/2025 07:27

What's the betting thay even though Jodie is being investigated by the NMC for her conduct with the dead patient's husband she'll end up sleeping with him again.

Also if she is,shouldn't she be suspended? Not just off duty.

DizzyPuss · 23/02/2025 07:51

Hahaha! I had to laugh at an airport in Hobby too, lol 😂 🤣 🤣

And surely paramedics don't work in ambulance call centres, do they?

daffodilandtulip · 23/02/2025 08:02

Especially call centres they only just found out they had.

AnImaginaryCat · 23/02/2025 08:11

Holby International Airport has featured a good few times. Last time was someone leaving I think.

Does make me laugh each time we see it.

Why were the police checking who was going into the hospital? Was that due to the major incident or something else I've forgotten?

Over the years a number of patients have arrived direct from airport, with tropical diseases or drug smuggling.

OldSchoolCasualty · 23/02/2025 09:09

Can’t believe we didn’t actually get a plane crash, back in the day there would have been a whole lead up to that, probably the air hostess going on her second long haul, saying goodbye to ‘Claire’ who never materialised at the hospital?!? We’d have had the full crash and the following explosion. All of the events seem to happen off screen now. And everyone just rocks up at the hospital with no pre amble (there was a guy a while ago that was gored by a bull! Missing good telly not filming that).
Lots of story lines start but never seem to have a conclusion 🫣
Do we think they filmed the plane crash and cut it because of the two real world plane crashes? Like that episode they dropped entirely right at the start of the pandemic, although they announced that was what they’d done and gave you an explanation of the important bits.
had Dylan dyed his hair? I’m glad Sophia has buggered off!

Shelllc130 · 23/02/2025 09:58

I honestly don’t think they even filmed the plane crash, I don’t think it’s in the budget anymore for them to film the lead up to the majority of accidents.

& I don’t think he’s dyed it, looked the same to me.

AnImaginaryCat · 23/02/2025 10:23

First time Holby International was on Casualty was 1992. Plane cash landed!

Clip a time we saw fewer scenes in staff's houses and more of the patient stories and accidents:

As much as she probably doesn't deserve much sympathy (for being a part of breaking up a marriage) I did feel really sorry for Stevie last night. No one to support her Sad

spiderlight · 23/02/2025 10:35

I felt very sorry for Stevie too. She does genuinely love Rick.

I laughed at the start, though, when Siobhan put on her tabard and said 'I'm Purple Nurse'.

NorthernGirl1981 · 23/02/2025 10:48

Love the fact that the little girl was intubated and taken to theatre without even getting consent from the mother who was in the waiting room 🤣

Yes I love that 'purple nurse' is an actual thing. No way would our purple nurse ever be the 'purple nurse' though she's too much of a wet blanket apart from when she is being a cow to Dylan.

bizzey · 23/02/2025 11:28

What was the point of purple nurse Sophia ??

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 23/02/2025 11:40

Isn't Sophia's new job at the other hospital in Bristol Holby? So not exactly a barrier to continuing a relationship with Dylan if they both wanted to. She's not off to Aberdeen!

I thought they'd broken up last week anyway with how shitty she was to Dylan

Surely it was pretty much over with that

Either way let's hope this is the last of it

bizzey · 23/02/2025 12:27
